100 windmill road February 6, 2010 10-17775 - Illegal production and selling liquor - the Halifax Vice Unit along with the Liquor Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth. Located in the residence was a still, beer and wine. All items were seized. A 63-year-old male was arrested under the Customs and Excise Act as well as the Liquor Control Act. He was released to appear in court at a later date.




January 17, 2010 10-8876 - Robbery - At approximately 9:30 p.m., a 23-year-old female, waiting for a bus in the area of Windmill and Albro Lake Roads in Dartmouth, had her purse grabbed by a male with a handgun. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 17-23-years-old, 5'9" tall, skinny build, blonde hair with scruffy facial hair and gap between his front teeth. He was wearing a black hoodie, a black knit toque, dark coloured jeans and bright white Nike sneakers. The matter remains under investigation.


JAMIESON street & windmill road January 5, 2010 10-2762 - Pursuit - At 8:25 p.m., police began a low speed pursuit of a vehicle in the area of Wyse Road in Dartmouth. The vehicle initially refused to stop but eventually pulled into a parking lot in the area of of Windmill Road and Jamieson Street. A search of the vehicle produced drugs and bear spray. A man was charged under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act and a woman was charged with possession of a weapon.


windmill road November 22, 2009 09-172601 - Stolen Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Accident - At 4:35 a.m., Two vehicles were observed racing on Windmill Road. Upon checking the area, police located a stolen Chrysler Sebring with extensive damage, after it had crashed into a bus shelter, two light standards and four vehicles at the Fairley and Stevens car dealership. The driver could not be located by K9. Ground search and rescue was called out to assist, as there were concerns that the driver could be seriously injured. The search was concluded at 4:30 p.m., no one was located.


200 windmill road October 22, 2009 09-156414 - Injury motor vehicle accident (car & pedestrian) - At 6:15 p.m. a woman was struck in the crosswalk in the 200 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth by a motor vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital with what are believed to be serious but non life threatening injuries. The female driver was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

100 windmill road September 8, 2009 09-133758 - Arson - At 2:43 a.m. a call was received that the front of a church in the 100 block of Windmill Road, Dartmouth had been set on fire. Officers arrived to find objects on fire against the front wall of the building. A suspect was taken into custody near the scene. The matter remains under investigation.


100 windmill road August 24, 2009 09-125114 - Robbery - At 2:40 p.m. 3-4 males forced entry into an apartment located in the 100 block of Windmill Road, Dartmouth. Once inside, one of the males produced a handgun and put a bag over the head of the lone occupant. The other males searched the apartment and removed some jewelry. It is not known at this time if anything else is missing. The suspects left the scene in a silver coloured vehicle. Officers are still on scene conducting the preliminary investigation. This does not appear to be a random act.


WRIGHT avenue & windmill road June 27, 2009 09-92235 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 2:27 p.m. a two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Wright Avenue and Windmill Road, Dartmouth, when one vehicle rear ended another vehicle. Two individuals were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.


June 4, 2009 09-80021 - Impaired Driver - At 1:38 p.m. police received a call from a citizen regarding a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Windmill Road in Burnside. With this information, police were able to stop the vehicle in the area of Main Street. The driver was found to be highly intoxicated and failed a Breathalyzer test. As a result, he was held in custody until sober and will appear in court on a later date.


400 windmill road May 15, 2009 69492 - Assault - A 51-year-old male was walking in the area of 400 Windmill Road just after 11 p.m. when he was approached by three males who demanded his wallet. The victim refused and was pushed to the ground. The suspects ran across Windmill Road and fled in a small 2 door black car in an unknown direction. Nothing was taken from the victim.

One suspect is described as a white male, 6' tall with very short, shaved blond hair. The second suspect is described as a black male, 14-16 yearrs old with a skinny build, wearing long black shorts with white and yellow stripes and a matching short sleeve top with the same colours. There is no description of the third suspect. This matter remains under investigation.


400 windmill road May 15, 2009 09-69492 - Assault - A 51-year-old male was walking in the area of 400 Windmill Road just after 11 p.m. when he was approached by three males who demanded his wallet. 645 windmill road May 12, 2009 09-66734 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 6:12 p.m. a two vehicle accident occurred at 645 Windmill Road when one vehicle ran into the rear end of the other. The two occupants of the vehicle struck in the rear end were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.


princess margaret boulevard & WINDMILL Road May 9, 2009 09-65693 - Cruelty to Animals - At 3:10 p.m. a man and his wife were walking their dog on leash on a trail from Princess Margaret Boulevard towards the train tracks near Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A second dog, which was off leash, approached their dog and jumped on him. The man attempted to control the second dog to prevent it from hurting their dog. The owner of the second dog appeared holding a knife and stabbed the couple's dog multiple times. The man then threatened the couple. The suspect left the area with his dog and the couple called police. The suspect was located nearby by responding members of the East Division Quick Response Unit and arrested at 3:21 p.m. Following investigation, a 56-year-old Dartmouth man was release to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date, charged with Cruelty to Animal, Possession of a Weapon and Uttering Threats.


ELMWOOD drive & windmill road May 2, 2009 09-62875 - Pursuit - At 22:43 p.m. a short pursuit occurred in the area of Windmill Road and Elmwood Drive in Dartmouth. The speeds were not overly excessive and the suspect was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded handgun. The suspect will appear in court tomorrow morning.


100 windmill road March 21, 2009 09-40053/40054 - Assault Causing Bodily Harm - At 5:24 a.m. police responded to a report of an assault at an address in the 0 to 100 block of Windmill Road, Dartmouth. On arrival members found a male victim who appeared to have been assaulted. The victim was taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Three male suspects were taken into custody for questioning. The matter remains under investigation by our General Investigation Section at the time of this report.


364 windmill road February 11, 2009 09-20848 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At approximately 3:05 p.m. a 43-year-old male pedestrian was struck while crossing in a crosswalk near 364 Windmill Road, Dartmouth. His injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle has been ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.


windmill road February 5, 2009 09-17612 - Motor Vehicle Accident - At 12:30 p.m. a 14-year-old boy was struck after climbing over a snowbank onto the street on Windmill Road in Dartmouth. The driver left the scene of the accident. He was later located and ticketed for failing to identify himself to the boy. The victim received minor injuries.


612 windmill rd January 7, 2009 09-2942/3737/2838 - Break and Enter - At 10:00 pm patrol officers observed a stolen mini van travelling in Highfield Park, Dartmouth. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop for the officers. Two men bailed from the vehicle when it finally came to a stop behind an apartment building. Quick action by officers on scene led to one suspect being apprehended a short distance from the van and the other located in a nearby wooded area by K-9 unit. The van was searched and a large amount of beer was recovered. Further investigation revealed that Sleeman’s Brewery, 612 Windmill Rd had just been broken into and beer stolen. It is also believed that the two men are responsible for a previous break and enter at Sleeman’s Brewery sometime overnight on
GROVE street & windmill road December 11, 2008 08-183798- Power Outage - At approximately 3:30 p.m. the wind uprooted an old tree, causing it to fall onto power and telephone lines in the area of Grove Street and Windmill Road in Dartmouth. Power was knocked out in this area down to the MacDonald bridge. No one was injured during the incident. Nova Scotia Power is presently on scene.


windmill road & SPRINGHILL Road November 21, 2008 08-173030/173040 -Robberies - At 2 a.m. man walking along Windmill Road in Dartmouth was approached by two males, one of whom who produced a long gun and demanded the victim's property. The victim complied and the two suspects left without injuring the victim. Approximately 15 minutes later, the two males entered Robert's Pizza, 364 Windmill Road, each producing long guns and demanded cash from two patrons who were in the restaurant. After obtaining cash and other items from the two victims, the suspects then approached the employee and demanded that he empty the till. The employee initially refused, at which time one of the suspects fired a round next to the employee. The employee turned over the cash after which the suspects fled the scene on foot. There were no injuries as a result of the incidents. A quick response from Patrol members led to the arrest of three individuals at a Springhill Road address. The General Investigative Section attended and executed a search warrant resulting in the recovery of the victim's property and the two long guns which were used in the robberies. The investigation further revealed that the robbery was planned by the two suspects and a third male suspect who did not attend the scene but did plan the robbery and was in possession of the firearms at the residence. All three are being held for court on Monday morning to face a number of robbery and weapons related charges.


BEST street & windmill road October 6, 2008 08-148987 - Weapons Offence - At 12:25 a.m. police were called to the area of Best Street and Windmill Road in relation to a weapons offence. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect approached a vehicle parked at the intersection, produced a handgun and pointed it at the 51-year-old driver of the vehicle. The driver fled the scene and a police K9 unit was called in. Excellent work by patrol and the K9 officer led to the arrest of the suspect in Best Street apartment. A search recovered a pellet pistol replica near the residence. A 17-year-old youth is facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous. He is being held for Court in the morning.


500 windmill road July 14, 2008 08-102883 Break and Enter - At 6:30 p.m. three youths, aged 14, 12 and 11, broke into a property in the 500 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth, and damaged property. One male was taken home and the other two were released but face charges at a later date.

534 windmill road June 8, 2008 08-82501/82537/82666 - Drugs - At 3:10 p.m. police responded an alarm at U Store It storage facility, 534 Windmill Road, Dartmouth. Upon arrival officers noted an occupied vehicle inside the locked compound. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a small amount of marihuana, a quantity of crack cocaine, cash, other drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun. A search warrant was executed for the storage cubicle and resulted in the seizure of a prohibited firearm, a large quantity of crack cocaine, a small amount of marihuana, assorted drug paraphernalia and a large amount of Canadian currency. The three male occupants of the vehicle, ages 18, 23 and 26-years-old were arrested and face assorted firearms and drug charges.


200 windmill road April 22, 2008 08-58068 - Homicide - At 12:32 a.m. police received a call regarding a body in an apartment in the 200 block of Windmill Road, Dartmouth. Member arriving on scene found a man deceased and a second man, 50-years-old, who had been stabbed. The second man was transported to the hospital for treatment. Soon after members arrived, a 45-year-old man was taken into custody a short distance from the scene. The matter remains under investigation.


Traffic Point - Between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. the HRM Integrated Traffic Unit conducted a traffic point in Eastern Passage and stopped over 2500 vehicles. Eight vehicles were taken off the road for closer inspection. All eight failed and 6 were towed at the owners expense. Tickets were issued for several violations.


364 windmill road April 3, 2008 08-47673 - Motor Vehicle Accident -
At 4:02 p.m. police responded to a single vehicle accident at 364 Windmill Road, Dartmouth. The driver of the vehicle struck a telephone pole causing power lines to fall onto the street. There were no injuries and no charges are anticipated in relation to this accident.


windmill road March 6, 2008 08-33335 - Drugs - A traffic stop on Windmill Road, Dartmouth resulted in the HRM Integrated Drug Unit searching two vehicles. The male driver of each vehicle was arrested and a quantity of marihuana was seized. Both parties will appear in court at a later date to face drug charges.


115 windmill road February 10, 2008 08-21260 - Armed Robbery - At approximately 9:20 p.m., two men entered Andy’s grocery store, 115 Windmill Road, Dartmouth and confronted the clerk. One of the men was armed with a knife. The suspects received an amount of cash and some cigarettes. No one was injured during the incident. The first suspect is described as a man of unknown race, wearing dark pants and a dark coat with fir around the hood. The second suspect is described as a white man, approximately 25-years-old, with light hair, wearing dark pants and a green jacket with fir around the hood. The matter remains under investigation.


397 windmill road January 21, 2008 08-10445 - Robbery - At 7:00 p.m., a man entered the Ultramar station at 397 Windmill Road, Dartmouth and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk believed the suspect was armed with a pipe. A physical struggle took place between the suspect and the clerk before the suspect fled on foot empty handed. The clerk was not injured. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's with dark hair and a moustache, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.


88 windmill road January 16, 2008 08-7942 - Break and Enter - At approximately 6:25 p.m., a man and women knocked on the rear door of an apartment at 88 Windmill Road, Dartmouth. The couple forced their way into the apartment when the occupant opened the door. The man was carrying a metal pipe and the female a knife. The occupants of the apartment fled through the front door and called police. The apartment was searched by the suspects but it is not clear if anything was taken. No one was injured during the incident. The man was described as being white, 5'10" tall, with a sock over his face. The female was described as white, 5'3" tall, with a dark hoodie covering her head and face. The matter remains under investigation by the General Investigation Section.


400 windmill road January 11, 2008 08-6054 - Break and Enter Charges - At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a break and enter in progress in the 400 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A 35-year-old man matching the description of the suspect was located a short distance away. He was arrested for possession of break and enter tools, and attempting to break into the Dartmouth address. He was held in cells and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday,
windmill road January 10, 2008 08-5068 - Four Charged After Police Pursuit - At 4:40 a.m. Patrol Units in Dartmouth observed a Red Dodge Caravan which was believed to have been involved in a commerical Break and Enter at a convenience store on Windmill Road at 2:30 a.m. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver failed to negotiate a turn and struck the curb. As a result, the vehicle, which was stolen, flipped over on its roofed. Four youths, none of who was injured, exited the vehicle and were taken into custody. They face numberous charges including theft, possession of stolen property and break and enter.


November 7, 2007 07-170066 - Injury Accident - A two vehicle accident occurred near the intersection of Windmill Road and Akerley Boulevard in Dartmouth. One driver was transported to the Dartmouth General with non life threatening injuries.


October 28, 2007 07-163501 - Break and Enter - At 7:45 a.m., a call was received from a Trinity Avenue (Dartmouth) resident who had just observed two men break into a neighbour's shed. The suspects had walked from the area, one carrying a kitbag. Minutes later on Albro Lake Road at Windmill Road, responding East Division patrol members detained two suspects, recovering a quantity of power tools. Both men, ages 32 and 43-years-old, will appear in court at a later date charged with 'Break Enter' and 'Theft.'


October 19, 2007 159034 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 10:50 a.m., a two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Akerley Boulevard and Windmill Road in Dartmouth when a vehicle hit the rear of the vehicle in front of it. Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

windmill road October 9, 2007 07-154054 - Drug Search - At approximately 10:45 p.m., the Integrated Drug Section executed a warrant at an apartment on Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, dilaudid, clonazepam and cash was seized. Two men, one 49-years-old and one 33-years-old and a women, 18-years-old, were held for court Wednesday facing a charge of "Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking", and "Possession of a Substance."

ELMWOOD drive & windmill road October 8, 2007 07-153402 - Injury Accident - At 2:29 p.m., a car ran into a wheelchair near Windmill Road and Elmwood Drive in Dartmouth. The wheel chair occupant crossed the street and was driving along the road in search of an entry ramp to the sidewalk. The driver of a car backing out of a driveway struck the wheel chair, knocking the victim out of the chair and onto the pavement. The 64-year-old victim was treated at the scene for minor scrapes to his hands. No charges will be laid.

September 22, 2007 07-143858 - Assault - At 6:38 a.m., a 39-year-old women waiting for a bus was approached by a man in the area of Wallace Street and Windmill Road in Dartmouth. The suspect grabbed the victim from behind and indicated he had a knife. The victim alerted some people in the area, causing the suspect to release her and flee. The suspect is described as a black male, 55-60-years-old, 5'7" tall, gray hair with a receding hair line, flat nose & flat face, wearing a white t-shirt with an unknown logo on it, white shorts, black socks and black sneakers. The suspect had a "pot belly” and walked with a hunch. The victim was not injured during the incident.

September 5, 2007 07-133824 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 9:00 a.m., police responded to a two vehicle and pedestrian accident. A 54-year-old man was crossing the marked crosswalk on Windmill Road at Hare Lane in Dartmouth. The driver of the first vehicle, a 55-year-old man, stopped to allow the pedestrian to cross and the driver of the second vehicle, a 24-year-old man, struck the rear of first vehicle, pushing it into the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to hospital, treated for minor injuries and released. The driver of the second vehicle has been charged with Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk contrary to section 125(1) Motot Vehicle Act.

windmill road August 28, 2007 07-129556 Prositution - At 9:25 p.m., the Integrated Vice Unit arrested a women for "Communication for the Purpose of Prostitution" on Windmill Road near Shannon Plaza in Dartmouth. The suspect was charged and will appear in Court at a later date.

windmill road August 12, 2007 07-121424 - Prostitution - At 11:20 p.m., members of the Vice Unit arrested a 49-year-old Dartmouth woman on Windmill Road for 'Communicating for the Purpose of Prostitution'. She was later released, scheduled to answer to the charge in court at a later date.


WRIGHT avenue & windmill road August 9, 2007 07-118352 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 6:35 p.m., a motorcycle and a car collided at the intersection of Windmill Road and Wright Avenue in Dartmouth. The 48-year-old drive of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. The matter remains under investigation.

windmill road July 22, 2007 07-107361 - Friday at 8:30 p.m., members of the Vice Unit arrested a 38-year-old woman on Windmill Road for 'Communicating for the Purpose of Prostitution'. She was later released, scheduled to answer to the charge in court at a later date.

windmill road July 22, 2007 07-108576 - At 11:40 p.m., members of the Patrol Section working in a plainclothes capacity arrested a 38-year-old Dartmouth woman for 'Communicating for the Purpose of Prostitution' on Windmill Road in Dartmouth. The woman was also in violation of an undertaking, and as a result was held overnight, scheduled to answer to the charges in Dartmouth Court today.






windmill road June 6, 2007 07-81450 - Prostitution - At 8:50 p.m. members of the Integrated Vice Unit arrested a 64-year-old Dartmouth man on Windmill Road for 'communicating for the purpose of soliciting a prostitute'. The man was later released, scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.


windmill road May 15, 2007 07-69466 Weapons - Just after 2 p.m., shots were fired from a vehicle at a building on Windmill Road in Dartmouth. The vehicle is described as a gold Cadillac with possibly two or three occupants. There were no injuries and the matter is under investigation.


WRIGHT avenue & windmill road May 10, 2007 07-67092 Injury Accident - At 9:20 p.m. a car collided with a Metro Transit bus at Windmill Road at Wright Avenue in Dartmouth. The driver of the car was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way. The bus driver and two passengers received minor injuries.



FARRELL road & windmill road March 9, 2007 07-33735 Weapons - At 5 p.m. reports were received of shots fired in the area of Farrell Road at Windmill Road. No physical evidence that a firearm was discharged was found. Possible suspect descriptions are, two black males in their teens, one wearing a navy parka and touque.

windmill road February 8, 2007 07-19221 Injury Accident - At 9:52 p.m., a vehicle struck a light pole on Windmill Road, Dartmouth. The driver was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

windmill road January 5, 2007 07-1897 5:45 p.m. A male entered the Comfort Inn on Windmill Road armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. He was given cash and fled. He was described as a white male, 18-22 years-old with reddish blond hair and a skinny nose.

590 windmill road December 25, 2006 06-174503 Break and Enter For the second time in as many nights and the third time in a week, Hertz Rentals located at 590 Windmill Road in Dartmouth has been the victim of a break and enter. At 9:28 p.m. a vehicle was used to break open the front entry doors of the business, which is similar to last evening's break and enter. This time, however, the store managers had installed concrete barriers in front of the doorway; unfortunately, the suspects were able to use their vehicle to move the barriers to gain access. They stole several saws from the business. This matter remains under investigation.


590 windmill road December 25, 2006 06-174207 Break and Enter At 8:04 p.m. officers attending an intrusion alarm at Hertz Equipment Rentals located at 590 Windmill Road in Dartmouth found an extensive amount of damage to the front doors of the building. Premilinary information from the investigation indicates that a vehicle drove through the front doors of the business to gain access to the building. Once an opening had been created by the collision, the responsible persons entered and stole two generators. The only description of the vehicle is that it could be grey in color as a piece of it was left behind at the scene. The suspect is described as a white male with facial hair and wearing race wearing a blue coat, black gloves and blue jeans. It appears as though he handed the stolen items to a second suspect, although no description of this party is available.

100 windmill road November 15, 2006 06-155778 Drug Arrest and Charges A Vehicle was stopped by an HRP Patrol member on Wyse Road at 5:30 p.m. As a result of the traffic stop, a quantity of ectacy pills and cocaine were seized from the vehicle and the lone male occupant was arrested. As a result of further investigation, a search was conducted by the Integrated Drug Unit at a 100 block Windmill Road address later in the evening. Nobody was inside the home when the members entered at approximately 9 p.m. Quantities of marijuana, ecstacy pills, cocaine and cash were seized during the search. The 33-year-old male driver of the vehicle will appear in court facing a number of Drug Trafficking related charges in relation to the drugs recovered in the vehicle and residence.



September 3, 2006 06-118176 Robbery Primrose Street, Dartmouth. At approximately 10:00 p.m. a male reported he picked up two female hitchhikers on Windmill Rd. They produced a syringe and a knife and forced him to go to a Primrose Street address
where they stole cash and identification. they then forced him to go to the bank machine to withdraw money from his account. When the victim was unable to withdraw money they took his car keys. The victim was able to escape and call police. He was not injured in the incident.


WYSE road & windmill road August 31, 2006 06-115967 Industrial Accident 9:15 a.m. Wyse Road at Windmill Road, Dartmouth. The male driver of a ride-on lawnmower was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after the mower he was working on flipped over and he was thrown over a small embankment, landing on concrete. The Department of Labor are investigating the incident.

626 windmill road August 19, 2006 06-109506 Robbery 1:40 p.m. Irving Station, 626 Windmill Road, Dartmouth. A male entered the business and produced a pair of scissors, demanding cash from the attendant. He fled after being given an amount of money. The suspect is described as a white male , his 20's 6' tall with scruffy blond facial hair, wearing a black baseball hat with a logo on the front, a black shirt and grey sweat pants.

JAMIESON street & windmill road July 16, 2006 06-90186 Arson 3:20 a.m. Windmill Road at Jamieson Street, Dartmouth. Police and Fire Services responded to a fire , a building housing apartments and a Convenience Store. One man was removed from the roof of the building by Fire Services. Upon the fire being extinguished and fire investigators completing their preliminary investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be arson. The investigation has been handed over to the HRP and RCMP General Investigative Section.

WINDMILL road & stone avenue May 20, 2006 06-60467 Robbery Just after midnight, Windmill Road at Stone Avenue, Dartmouth. A 26-year-old male was walking along Windmill Road when he was grabbed from behind by another male. The male grabbed his jacket at his shoulder and he threw victim to the ground. The victim's wallet fell out of his back pocket when he hit the ground. The male picked up the wallet, removed the cash and ran off. The suspect is described as being white, 20-25 years-old, about 6' with a slim build, clean shaven with short dirty blond hair.


300 windmill road April 27, 2006 06-49179 Assault With a Weapon 5:45 p.m. 300 block Windmill Road, Dartmouth. A tenant requested his landlord come see him. The landlord attended the tenant's apartment and was assaulted with a pole and threatened with a knife by the tenant. A struggle ensued which resulted , injuries to both parties. Eventually the landlord was able to escape the apartment and contact police. The 45-year-old tenant was arrested and will appear , court today to answer to several charges.

200 windmill road April 13, 2006 06-43211 Arrests re Stolen Vehicle 8:30 a.m. 200 block Windmill Road, Dartmouth. Members responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle , the area. The caller believed the vehicle may have been stolen. Upon arriving members observed several youths run from the car. Six youths were arrested nearby ranging , age from 14 to 17-years-old (2 males and 4 females). They will be facing charges including, theft, possession of stolen property, breaches of probations and undertakings and joyriding.





windmill road January 12, 2006 5209-Break and Enter-At 11:50 p.m. Police responded to an alarm at DiTech Security on Windmill Road. 2 candy machines were taken from the business. A vehicle was stopped a short distance away and 2 males were taken into custody. The candy machines were recovered and the males will be facing break and enter charges at a later date.





windmill road December 10, 2005 108003-Attempted Robbery- At 11:00 p.m. three males entered the Burnside Hotel on Windmill Road and confronted the clerk. One of the males attempted to remove an ATM machine from the lobby. He was unable to do so and the three males fled the area , a white van. No one was hurt and the matter is still under investigation.


300 windmill road November 12, 2005 95941-Robbery- At 8 p.m. two males wearing ski masks entered a commercial establishment on the 300 block of Windmill Road. They intimidated the clerk and tried unsuccessfully to remove the cash register before fleeing. This case is still under investigation.


276 windmill road October 31, 2005 05-90296 - Robbery - At 9:07 p.m., a trick-or-treater was , the area of 276 Windmill Road when three black males held a knife to the victim’s throat and took his candy. The suspects had bandanas over their faces and one was wearing a black puffy coat.

akerley & windmill road October 29, 2005 05-89264 - Motor Vehicle Collision - Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Windmill Road and Akerley Bvld. One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

600 windmill road October 16, 2005 83308-Robbery-At 9:55 p.m. a female entered a fast food business , the 600 block of Windmill Road armed with a crow bar. The suspect bound the employee and covered her eyes. The suspect removed cash and left the scene. A short time later members arrested two female suspects and one male suspect for this incident. They will appear , court at a later date to face robbery charges.

princess margaret boulevard & WINDMILL Road September 25, 2005 74908-Robbery- At 8:25 p.m. a woman became involved , a confrontation with an male suspect , the area of Windmill Road and Courtney Road. He pushed her to the ground and stole her purse. An adult male was arrested a short time later , the Princess Margaret Boulevard area. He was charged with robbery and will be appearing , Court on a later date.




100 windmill road July 31, 2005 45726 Robbery At 2:20 a.m. a male was approached by 2 males while , the 100 block of Windmill Road. The males asaulted him, took his cell phone and fled the area on foot. They were described as two white males with one wearing a black t-shirt and the other a brown t-shirt. The victim was not injured and the incident is still under investigation.

windmill road & WYSE Road May 14, 2005 19491 At 1:24 p.m. a lone male armed with a knife entered a business , the 100 Block of Wyse Road and demanded cash. The victim refused and the suspect fled north towards Windmill Road. A short distance from the scene, a 30-year-old male suspect was arrested and is scheduled to appear , court at a later date .

windmill road May 7, 2005 18559- At 6:40 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle accident at Akerly Boulevard and Windmill Road. One female driver was transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries.


WALLACE street & windmill road April 8, 2005 13678- At 8:30 a.m. police responded to the corner of Wallace Street and Windmill Road , relation to an accident. A man was injured as he attempted to place two steel bedroom rails into the rear of a garbage truck. The man received facial injuries and the Department of Labour will be following up.

March 30, 2005 12567 Weapons Incident , the 200 Block of Windmill Road. At 11:05 p.m. a man was approached by 2 males , a dark colored Pontiac Sunfire. The passenger produced a handgun and ordered the victim into the car. He was then taken to the area of Woodlawn Road where he was able to escape and call the police. The area was checked for the suspects with negative results. The incident is still under investigation.


windmill road December 11, 2004 57117 Robbery, Windmill Road - At 9:45 p.m. a man was walking , the area when he was approached by three males. The males threatened to beat him up if he didn't give them his money. The victim gave them a small ammount of cash and the suspects fled on foot. There were no injuries. The incident is under investigation.



November 24, 2004 54035 Two males were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries after the car they were driving , rolled over on Akerley Blvd at Isnor Drive at 7:00 a.m. Road conditions , the area at the time were slippery.

A protest against homelessness occurred this afternoon. Around 40 people started a demonstration on Queen Street near the area of the old Infirmary hospital. The participants then boarded a bus and were transported to an abandoned building at the corner of Wyse Road and Windmill Road where they met some other members of the demonstration that had gained entry to a vacant building. This building is owned by HRM and is not a habitable property. HRP then entered the building and removed the participants. Nine people were arrested. All nine are being charged with violating the Protection of Property Act. Further, one adult female and one male youth will be charged with obstructing a Police Officer.





windmill road & LYLE Street November 6, 2004 04-50497 A 23-year-old female was taken to
hospital after being involved , a serious motor vehicle crash on Windmill Road near Lyle Street , Dartmouth at approximately 12:50 a.m. Her
injuries were not life-threatening. The accident resulted , a power pole being severed and power being disrupted to a section of downtown
Dartmouth. The female, who was the driver of the vehicle, faces charges of impaired operation of a vehicle and refusing a blood demand.

451 windmill rd October 26, 2004 48710 Robbery and Arson, 451 Windmill Rd. Dartmouth, Pool Hall at Shannon Plaza. At 12:50 a.m. two males and a female entered the above business after closing and threatened the clerk with gasoline. They demanded cash from the clerk. Upon leaving the business the clerk was ushered outside at which time the suspects used the gasoline to light the business on fire. There was major damage to the business but no injuries to the victim. The suspects fled the scene , a vehicle stolen from the victim. The matter is presently under investigation.

1000 windmill rd June 27, 2004 04-28150 A collision was reported to police at 6:56 p.m. near 1000 Windmill Rd. A car that was travelling southbound over Magazine Hill lost control while trying to make lane changes and ran into the back of a second
vehicle that was also travelling south. The second vehicle was pushed off the road and into the woods from the force of the collision. Fortunately no injuries resulted. Traffic was tied up , both directions as officers collected evidence and data to determine the cause of the collision. Charges are expected to be laid against a 17-year-old male driver at the conclusion of the investigation.

550 windmill rd May 8, 2004 19707 Injured person, 550 Windmill Rd - At 12:20 a.m. an 18-year-old male received leg injuries after he attempted to jump onto a moving train and fell off. He was taken to the QE2 for treatment. The CN Police will be investigating the incident.

739 windmill rd April 3, 2004 14338 Robbery - 739 Windmill Rd. - At 11:45 p.m. a lone male approached the night clerk of the Burnside Hotel, produced a large knife and demanded money. He left with a small amount of cash. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as being a white male , his late 20's, wearing a faded purple "GAP" sweater with a hood and jeans.



windmill road February 13, 2004 6800 Armed robbery, 12:50 p.m., Atlantic Wholesalers, Windmill Road. - Two males
arrived at the rear of the building where a courier was picking up a delivery. The two assaulted the driver with a 'pepper spray' type
substance, stole the van that was being loaded and fled the scene. They left behind the van that they had arrived in. It was later determined to be stolen as well. The suspects got away with an undetermined quantity of cigarettes that were , the courier van. the missing vehicle was recovered later in
the day.




500 windmill rd January 7, 2004 938 Industrial Accident - 4:00 p.m., Piercey's Building Supply, 500 Windmill Rd - A male employee fell from a ladder he was working on. His injuries are undetermined at this time. He was taken to the Dartmouth General for
treatment. The Dept of Labour will be investigating the incident.

windmill road December 28, 2003 55951- Report of a Robbery at 9:40 p.m. at a Windmill Road apartment. Three males broke into the apartment and took the victims purse with contents. All 3 males had their faces partially covered. There were no injuries. The matter is still under investigation.



windmill rd & PINEWOOD Dr November 26, 2003 51470 Stabbing reported to police at 3:21 p.m. from Windmill Rd near Pinewood Dr. A female victim called the 911 center to report that she had been stabbed by a female suspect. Arriving officers passed the victim as she was , a cab headed for the Dartmouth General Hospital.
police arrested a suspect within 10 minutes and currently have her , custody. The victims injuries are unknown at report time, but are
believed not to be life threatening. Age of the victim is not yet known though the suspect is believed to be , her early 30's.
Charges have not yet been laid.



390 windmill rd November 6, 2003 47504 Robbery reported to police at 7:47 a.m. from 390 Windmill Rd, Esso
service station. A lone female entered the business and threatened the clerk with a
knife and demanded cash. Her demands were refused and she fled into a nearby building. She is described as wearing a green raincoat, black
pants and approximately 30 years of age wearing a black wig. No injuries occurred during the event. A knife and some articles of clothing were
recovered during a k-9 track. The investigation continues.

115 windmill rd November 5, 2003 47416 Armed robbery 4:50 p.m. - Andy's Grocery 115 Windmill Rd. Two men entered the store, one armed with a hammer demanding cash. They fled without getting anything , a red van. Police followed the van to Harvey & Cameron Sts where the driver and passanger fled the vehicle. The driver was apprehended but the passenger escaped. The man who was apprehended is a 42 yr old Dartmouth man who will appear , court , the morning on armed robbery, assault with a weapon and stolen vehicle charges.(The van was stolen earlier , the day from Halifax). The matter is still under investigation.

800 windmill road October 4, 2003 42375 Armed Robbery occurred at 12:45 p.m. at 800 Windmill Road at the Cash and Carry. Two suspects with a stolen van approached the delivery driver who was picking up an order and threatened him with a hand gun. The suspects forced the delivery driver into one of the vans and the suspects then stole both vans, one containing a quantity of cigarettes, by driving them from the scene. The delivery driver was released shortly thereafter. Both vans and stolen goods were recovered by police a short time later. Suspects have not been arrested as of yet. Described as two adult males wearing camouflage clothing and masks. Delivery driver is an adult male; he was not injured. Suspects have not been arrested at this time.

200 windmill road September 29, 2003 41116 As a result of Hurricane Juan, a roof of an apartment building collapsed , the 200 block of Windmill Road at 12:48 a.m. Building was evacuated and Metro Transit transported tenants to temporary lodging.

windmill road September 25, 2003 03-40514 Injury Motor Vehicle Accident occurred at Best Street and Windmill Road at 11:58 a.m. The two-vehicle accident resulted , minor injuries to the female driver of one of the vehicles.

windmill rd August 8, 2003 32873 6:20 p.m. - Armed Robbery - Convenience Store, Windmill Rd., suspect armed with a knife attempted to rob store but clerk hit him twice with a bat and the suspect fled. Police members arrested a 37 year old male, the suspect was armed with a concealed knife at the time of his arrest and attempted to stab arresting officers, suspect was also arrested on an outstanding parole warrant, charges will include armed robbery, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, assault with a weapon, assault and resist police officers, threats. Arresting police officers were not injured.




656 windmill rd May 26, 2003 20665 Attempt robbery at Moosehead Brewery 656 Windmill Rd reported to police at 8:40 pm. A vehicle described as a white Dodge Neon with black bumpers pulled up to the drive through and one of the occupants placed an order. When the clerk emerged the male passenger got out of the vehicle and pointed what the clerk thought was a shotgun at him causing him to flee inside for safety while the gunman demanded cash. A security guard standing nearby saw the suspect and the gun and recognized it as a toy because of its size and a bright red tip on the end of the barrel and told the suspect he knew it was a fake . The suspect then asked if he could have his beer and got back into the car. He was refused service and the car fled out Windmill Rd , the direction of Bedford.
The suspect is described as a male , 35-40 yrs old with a large belly ,standing about 5'8"-5'10" and about 230 lbs. The witnesses also stated that the driver was a female and that there were 2 small children , the back seat of the vehicle.
The investigation continues.

656 windmill rd March 29, 2003 12333 Robbery at 656 Windmill Rd , Dartmouth. At 8:56 pm officers responded to the Moosehead Brewery after staff called to report a robbery. According to the witness , a car pulled up to the drive through and placed an order for a case of beer. When the clerk came out to make the sale , a male , the front passenger seat of the car displayed a shot gun and demanded cash. After all of the money that the clerk had was turned over , the car took off , a southerly direction on Windmill Rd.
There were two other occupants , the car but the only description we have is of the armed male . He is described as about 6'2" medium build , wearing a black leather jacket with a dark stocking hat pulled down over his forehead.
The vehicle involved is described as possibly a late 80's or early 90's sunbird style 2 door , blue , color with graphic designs on the sides equipt with noticeable chrome rims . Possible partial plate number is "DFT___"...No injuries occurred as a result. The investigation continues.


windmill rd March 11, 2003 10007 Purse snatching on Windmill Rd. At 5:13 pm officers were dispatched to meet with a female who reported that after she got off the bus a female ran up to her and grabbed her purse and ran off. She was not injured. The suspect is described as , her 40's, about 5', with brown hair and having a thin build and wearing a red coat.



619 windmill rd January 21, 2003 2843 Injury accident at 619 Windmill Rd at 12:37 pm . Two vehicles collided after one vehicle stopped to let another out , traffic. The collision resulted , one of the drivers being take to the Dartmouth General for assessment of a possible back / neck injury . No charges are pending.

187 windmill rd December 1, 2002 49791 Robbery , 187 Windmill Rd , Marys Grocery , At 8:15 p.m. a 6 ft male entered the store and stole money & tobacco, suspect wearing tiger pants , described as 21 yrs , 6ft , suspect armed with large knife , no injuries occured.



187 windmill rd November 3, 2002 45505 Robbery- At 9:40 pm a lone male entered Mary's Grocery and Video located at 187 Windmill Rd and relieved the staff of an undisclosed quantity of cash. The suspect was armed with a bat and has been described as a white male, 6 ft tall, 18-20 yrs, skinny, short blond hair, wearing a black jacket, brown military pants and a white bandana over his head. No one was injured , the incident. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.





windmill road August 15, 2002 32907 - Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 9:45 a.m. on Windmill Road near the Magazine Hill. The vehicle left the road, went through a fence and into DND property. It appears the driver experienced medical difficulties and lost control of the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
windmill road July 16, 2002 28587 - One man faces assault charges and charges of attempting to disarm a police officer after police responded to a complaint of a domestic assault at a Windmill Road address at 7:30 p.m. Police were confronted by a 42 year old man who was a suspect , the alleged assault. After a short discussion with the police, the suspect attempted to disarm one of the officers of his duty sidearm. The attempt was unsuccessful and the suspect was subdued with OC spray and physical restraint.
windmill road June 27, 2002 25594 - Police are investigating an attempted robbery on Windmill Road at 3:13 a.m. A 19-year old male was jumped by several other males who attempted to relieve him of his book bag. They were unsuccessful. The victim was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

windmill rd March 29, 2002 12890 - Police are seeking 5 to 6 males with respect to a home invasion on Windmill Rd. at 10:10 p.m. The group of males entered the home of another male and assaulted him with a baseball bat. They took a small amount of cash and a VCR. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


windmill road March 18, 2002 11125 - Police seeking two suspects , relation to an attack outside a Windmill Road residence around 1:50 a.m. The victim was slashed , the facial area with a knife by one of the suspects who tried to rob him. The victim was treated and released.
windmill road February 11, 2002 6176 - Police investigating an armed robbery which occurred around 10:00 p.m. at Mary's grocery on Windmill Road , Dartmouth. Two masked men entered the store, one had a handgun. They demanded cash, and also stole cigarettes. They fled on foot. No one was injured and no shots were fired , the incident.
