October 20, 2011 11-160871 - Robbery - At 9:15 a.m., police were called to the parking lot of JL Ilsley High School in Halifax. Apparently, two male teenagers were having a verbal disagreement when one youth assaulted the other and demanded his money. An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the suspect and he fled the area. The two youth were known to each another. The victim was not seriously injured and the teenage male was later arrested.


March 19, 2011 11-40818 - Weapons - Approximately 8:30 p.m., a male in the area of St Catherine's School in Halifax, was approached by a group of eight youths who attempted to engage him in conversation. One youth pulled out a handgun and the male ran and concealed himself in a backyard before calling police. The suspects were described as eight teenage males, one male was wearing a red sweater and the rest were wearing all dark clothing.







January 26, 2011 11-12991 - Suspicious Circumstances -At approximately 1:15 p.m., a young girl was walking to Sir Charles Tupper School when she slipped on the ice and fell. When she got up she observed a man running towards her. The girl felt threatened, and ran to the school and notified staff who contacted police. At this time, there is some indication that the man may have been jogging in the area and startled the girl. Police are interested in speaking with the man described as a white man, approximately 60-years-old with white hair and a white beard. At the time of the incident he was wearing a neon green winter coat, shorts with long underwear under them and a blue winter hat.


January 10, 2011 11-5187 - Robbery - Approximately 2:43 p.m., a male was walking in the area of Dartmouth High School in Dartmouth, when he was approached by another male who demanded his Ipod and threatened to have a weapon. The suspect fled the area on foot. Upon police arrival, the area was checked with negative results. The suspect was described as a black male 18-20-years-old, 6ítall, average build, wearing a black ball cap with a black hoodie and jeans. The matter remains under investigation.




June 16, 2009 09-86365 - Indecent Act - At 1:15 p.m. police responded to Chebucto Heights School in relation to a male naked from the waist down in the woods behind the school. Three female students came across the male, who can only be described as a white male with a reddish beard, while returning to school. The students did not seen an actual act as they ran to the school.
The matter remains under investigation.


February 5, 2009 09-17693 - Bear Spray - At 2:32 p.m. the police were called to Prince Albert School in Dartmouth in response to a complaint of several students being bear sprayed. The suspect in this matter was last seen leaving the school. At this time, it is believed that the suspect is known to the victims. Police are still seeking the suspect.


December 10, 2008 08-182762 - Disturbance - At 1:00 p.m. police responded to a report of a fight at CP Allen High School in Bedford. Some students got into a fight and a large group of students gathered to watch. Injuries were minor. There may have been some students who left the area that were not students of CP Allen. At this time one youth has been charged. The matter remains under investigation.


April 23, 2008 08-58569 - Robbery - At 10:30 p.m. a man walking through a pathway behind John Martin School in Dartmouth was approached by group of ten males and told to turn over his money. The suspects obtained a sum of money and left the area on foot. The victim was not injured in this incident. No suspect descriptions are available.


March 18, 2008 08-38841 - Bomb Threat - At 12:30 p.m., police were called to Citadel High School in regards to a bomb threat that was received by phone. The school was searched by staff and police. Nothing suspicious was found.


March 18, 2008 08-39503 - Suspicious Circumstances - At approximately 3:00 p.m., a young girl was approached by a man while walking on the path between Duc Danville School and Clayton Park Junior High School, Halifax. The man asked the girl to come with him. The girl realized something was wrong and ran home tell her mother. The suspect was described as a dark skinned man, approximately 5' 8" tall, medium build, with a large nose and wearing a dark blue or black jacket. The man spoke with a thick accent. The matter remains under investigation.


February 13, 2008 08-22450 - Bomb Threat - At 11:44 p.m., police attended Citadel High School in Halifax, regarding a bomb threat that was received by the 911 dispatch centre. The call originated at a pay phone within the school. All floors were cleared by police with assistance of school staff but nothing suspicious was located. After a search of the building, officials advised police that they were not going to close the school.


January 16, 2008 08-8013 - Robbery - At 9:10 p.m., two young males were walking in the area of Caledonia Junior High School in Dartmouth, when they were approached by two older males. The older males told the boys to empty their pockets and then they began to assault the boys. The suspects ran off after the assault. The victims made their home and called the police. The boys received minor injuries. Suspects #1 was described as a 20-year-old black man, 5'5" tall, stocky build, with slight acne on his face and a small amount of chin hair, and wearing a black outfit and a touque. Suspect #2 was described as a 17 to 19-year-old black male with a large chin and bushy eyebrows, wearing a black and red jacket and a touque. The matter remains under investigation.


October 10, 2007 07-154276 - Assault - At approximately 9:30 a.m., a 15-year-old boy was assaulted by two 17-year-old boys known to him in an area just off CP Allen High School grounds known as 'The Pit'. The victim had two teeth knocked out. The school's HRP Liaison officer investigated the incident and as a result, the two suspects were arrested during the noon hour. Both appeared in Youth Court this afternoon charged with "Assault Causing Bodily Harm." One of them was also charged with breaching an undertaking.

school August 1, 2007 07-113912,X Ref to 07-113917 - Assault with Weapon - Between 12:10 a.m. and 12:20 a.m., police responded to two disturbance calls near Ellenvale School in Dartmouth. Officers responding to the first call did not find any one at the scene. The second call yielded information regarding a 17-year-old male who had been taken to the hospital with a stab wound in his leg. Allegedly, the victim got into a physical altercation with another male and was stabbed in the leg with a knife. The victim was treated at hospital and was released. The suspect had already fled the scene when Police arrived. The matter will be followed up by our General Investigation Section.


June 26, 2007 07-92057 Break and Enter - At 11:30 p.m. three male youths were arrested for Break and Enter at Edward Arab-Westmount School. Nothing was stolen but there was damage to the interior of the school.

June 7, 2007 07-81337 - Drugs - At 5:20 p.m. members of the Integrated Drug Unit simultaniously pulled over a vehicle on Lady Hammond Road and executed a search warrant at a residence on School Avenue (Halifax). Seized were quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, diazepam and cash. The lone occupant of the vehicle, a 69-year-old Halifax man, is scheduled to appear in court today on drug trafficking related charges. A 61-year-old woman arrested at the residence was later released, scheduled to answer to the same charges in court at a later date. Both arrests were made without incident.


school May 17, 2007 07-70363 Bomb Threat - At 9:07 a.m. a bomb threat was called into CP Allen High School in Bedford from a pay phone. Stff made the decision to evacuate the building until a search was conducted by a police K-9 unit. Nothing suspicious was found.


November 5, 2006 06-150391 Robbery 6 p.m. Basinview Elementary School, Bedford. Two youths were parked behind the school when they were approached by a large group of youths, a number of them known to them. An incident had occurred earlier in the week between some of the youths and this evening, some youths from the larger group robbed and assaulted one of the youths in the vehicle. The matter is being investigated.

school avenue September 11, 2006 06-121843 and 06-121871 Attempted Arson At about 8:30 a.m. police responded to two School Avenue addresses where the occupants of the residences discovered incendiary devices in the area of their homes upon getting up in the morning. In the first case, a homeowner discovered an incendiary device in front of his home and one in the driveway beside his vehicle. Both devices had burnt partially and caused minor damage to the exterior of the home and vehicle. In the other case, a homeowner discovered an incendiary device near each of two vehicles parked on the street in front of his residence. One of these devices had not ignited. The other had ignited partially and caused minor damage to the exterior of the vehicle. As a result of having spoken with neighborhood residents, the investigors believe these incidents occurred sometime between 3-5 a.m. today. Anyone with information in relation to these incidents is asked to call the Integrated General Investigative Section at 490-5180.

March 10, 2006 06-28032 Robbery 1:00 p.m. Halifax West High School area (path , wooded area). Two youths were walking back to school from lunch when they were confronted by four males. The four demanded money and a CD player. One of the youths was assaulted (not injured) and the suspects left the area. The suspects are described as two white males and two black males with puffy coats. One of the white males wore a bandanna over his face.

November 17, 2005 97941-Bomb Threat-At 10:10 a.m. a bomb threat was called , to Bicentennial School. The school was not evacuated and after a brief investigaton, a 14-year-old male will be facing charges.


May 20, 2004 22105 A small fire was extinquished by the fire department at B.C. Silver school on Pinegrove Dr, Hfx at 9:45 p.m. It appeared that someone stuck a lighted stick through an opening there and ignited a curtain inside the building. The curtain was damaged butthere was no damage to the school. Fire investigators are onscene. Still under investigation.
