park November 16, 2011 11-175583 - Robbery - At 10 p.m., two male youths were walking on a path that leads along the railroad tracks in Flinn Park in Halifax when they were approached by three males who engaged them in conversation. The three males threatened them and demanded their belongings. They then rifled through the victims' backpacks and stole a laptop, X-Box, phones and a wallet. The suspects are described as:
1 - white male, 17-23-years-old, average height, weight and build, and wearing a white or gray sweatshirt with the hood up.
2- white male, 17-23-years-old, average height, weight and build, and wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and baggy clothing.
3- white male of average height, weight and build and wearing a light coloured hoodie with the hood up and baggy clothing.


October 20, 2011 11-160871 - Robbery - At 9:15 a.m., police were called to the parking lot of JL Ilsley High School in Halifax. Apparently, two male teenagers were having a verbal disagreement when one youth assaulted the other and demanded his money. An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the suspect and he fled the area. The two youth were known to each another. The victim was not seriously injured and the teenage male was later arrested.


1300 south park street October 1, 2011 11-150084 - Assault With a Weapon - At 3 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in the 1300 block of South Park Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that a fight had broken out between two males and one male pulled out a knife and stabbed the other several times in the leg. The suspect then fled the apartment before officers arrived. The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. The suspect was not located. The suspect and victim were not known to each other but this isn't believed to be a random incident.

south park street & BRENTON Street August 25, 2011 11-128705 - Robbery - At approximately 7:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery on South Park Street in Halifax. The female victim stated she was walking on South Park Street near Brenton Street, talking on her cell phone, when she was pushed and knocked to the ground by a female. The female grabbed her phone and attempted to take her purse. Three other females joined in and all four fled the area on foot. Officers located all four females and recovered the victim's cell phone which had been discarded. Four female youths are being held for court on robbery charges. The victim was not injured during the incident.


0-100 highfield park drive August 19, 2011 11-120039 - Search Warrant - At 3:30 p.m., members of the HRP and RCMP Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. Officers located a quantity of marihuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Two Dartmouth men, aged 24 and 27-years-old, were arrested at the scene without incident and charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both were released from custody on a promise to appear in court at a later date.


0-100 highfield park drive February 7, 2011 11-19576 - Weapons - At 12:43 a.m., police responded to 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. A male had been shot and transported to the QE2 Health Science Center with non life threatening injuries. Members of the General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate the incident. This does not appear to be a random act.




0-100 highfield park drive January 5, 2011 11-2867 - Drug Search - Approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Integrated Drug Unit executed a search warrant in an apartment in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. As a result, a quantity of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia was located and seized. The search also resulted in the seizure of two handguns and ammunition. A 26-year-old Dartmouth man was arrested and held for court to face numerous drugs and weapons charges.




December 3, 2010 10-183972 - Industrial Accident - At 2:09 p.m., police responded to an industrial accident at a construction site on Garland Avenue in the Burnside Industrial Park. Three men were on top of a column working the new cement when the column collapsed and one man fell several feet to the ground. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The Nova Scotia Department of Labour is investigating the incident.


2001 north park street November 17, 2010 10-176269 - Robbery - At 7:50 p.m., police responded to the skate park, 2001 North Park Street in Halifax. The victim stated three males approached him and demanded money and he complied. The three males were located a short time later and arrested. Two male youths and an adult male were arrested and are facing robbery charges. The three will appear in court today.




2000 parker street October 7, 2010 10-153389 - Break and Enter - At approximately 5:17 a.m., police responded to the 2000 block of Parker Street, Halifax, in relation to a 911 call. A male had just entered the bedroom through an unlocked door, at this location and stole several items while the victim was sleeping. The male demanded money, took some items and fled on foot. Police checked the area but did not locate the male. The suspect was described as a white male, 5'5"-5'6" tall, 60-70-years-old, heavy build with a wide face, wearing an oversized dark coat with a hoodie and an old baseball cap, and smelled like cigarettes. The file is being investigated by the General Investigation Section.





0-100 highfield park drive September 14, 2010 10-139282 - Weapons - At 7:33 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of a business in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. A male reported to police, he was asked to buy drugs and when he refused, the suspect showed him the handle of a concealed gun located in the pouch of his hooded sweatshirt. At that time, a vehicle drove into the parking lot and the suspect entered the vehicle and left the area. This matter is still under investigation. The suspect is described as a short black male, 25-30-years-old, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and shorts. The second suspect was described as a black male between 25-30-years-old.



September 7, 2010 10-135305 - Robbery - At approximately 9:30 p.m., two 18-year-old males were walking in the area of the skate park and playground at the Halifax Commons when they came across a group of males. The group surrounded the victims and after a brief conversation began punching them. The suspects took a kit bag containing a wallet and personal items from the victims. One victim suffered a swollen lip and the second suffered facial injuries. The incident was reported approximately 45 minutes after the fact. Responding officers searched the area with negative results. The suspects were described as being in their late teens or early 20s. One suspect was described as a white male, tall, thin build, wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and skater sneakers, with large rings on his fingers. The matter remains under investigation.


August 18, 2010 10-123161 - Robbery - At 7:50 p.m.,
three occupants of a vehicle parked in a lot near Jackson and Victoria Roads in Dartmouth were approached by two suspects on foot displaying knives. One of the suspects was observed to have a hand gun tucked in the waist of his pants. The suspects robbed one of the occupants of a small quantity of cash and slashed the tires of the vehicle before leaving the area on foot. The victims were not injured during the incident and were uncooperative with police in relation to providing statements. The first suspect was described as a white man, 19-20-year-old, with a freckled complexion and shaved red hair, and wearing a blue mesh jersey with red numbers and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as a white man, 19-20-year-old, with shaved dark hair, and wearing a light blue dress shirt with a white tank-top underneath and blue jeans. The matter remains under investigation.


1000 south park street July 15, 2010 10-102133 - Weapons - At 7 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1000 block of South Park Street in Halifax. A man standing outside of a business was approached by two males. One of the males stabbed the victim in the leg. The victim ran into a store, followed by one of the males who continued to punch him. The male then fled the scene. The victim attended the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. A knife was seized at the scene by responding officers. The matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section.


July 4, 2010 10-96464 - Hit and Run and Weapons Charges - At 7:40 p.m., in the area of 15 Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. A Honda struck a parked vehicle and male driver switched places with his female passenger and fled the scene. The accident was observed by an off duty Halifax Regional Police Officer who followed the suspect vehicle. Police witnessed an item being thrown from the suspect vehicle on Woodland Avenue. Upon searching the area, a loaded 25 caliber handgun was located. Marked patrol units responded and located the suspect vehicle in the Albro Lake Road area and after a short vehicle pursuit on a dead end street, the male and female occupants were taken into custody. The 24-year-female faces driving and weapons charges. The 25-year-old male faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident, weapons charges and charges for breaching his court orders. Both will appear in Dartmouth Court later today.




south park street June 3, 2010 10-77444 - Weapons and Drug Charges - At 8:45 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit stopped a woman on South Park Street in Halifax, after receiving information that she was selling drugs. The accused was found to be in possession of cocaine and a tazer. The 23-year-old Halifax woman will face weapons related charges and trafficking.


100 clayton park drive May 13, 2010 10-67516 - Attempted Robery - Approximately 10:00 p.m., near the 100 block of Clayton Park Drive in Halifax. Two youths riding their bikes were approached by an unknown male. The suspect threatened them, if they didn't turn over their bikes. The youth drove off when the male began to chase them.

The suspect was described as a white male, 17-20-years old, 5'6"-5'8" tall, thin build, wearing a baggy black and gold hoodie and jeans, and a black and white bandana.



1100 south park street May 3, 2010 10-61777 - Break and Enter and Robbery/Weapons - Shortly before 2 a.m, a man entered a basement apartment in the 1100 block of South Park Street after breaking the lock on the door. He grabbed a large knife from the counter and began swinging it at three male residents who were inside the apartment. They ran to the bathroom, locked the door, and called 911. The man left the apartment before police arrived, taking several items of food with him. The victims were not physically injured during the incident. The suspect was arrested at the corner of Grafton Street and Blowers Street at 2:30 a.m., without incident and the stolen property was recovered. A 55-year-old man will appear in court charged with break and enter, robbery, and weapons offences.


April 22, 2010 10-55762 -Motor Vehicle Accident - At 5:20 p.m., a 6-year-old girl was struck by a passing motor vehicle, when she ran out from between two parked cars. The vehicle was driving slowly, and the injuries to the child were not life threatening. She was taken to the IWK hospital for assessment. At this time, it does not appear there were any infractions under the motor vehicle act. The investigation into the accident will continue.


park April 14, 2010 10-51789 - Weapons - At 11:20 p.m., East Quick Response and Patrol members stopped a vehicle in Highfield Park in Dartmouth. The three occupants of the vehicle were searched and a 20-year-old male passenger was found to be in possession of a sawed off shotgun and ammunition. He was taken into custody without incident and held for court, facing a variety of weapons related charges.


highfield park drive April 5, 2010 10-47186 - Public's Assistance - Police are requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing 11-year-old boy. At approximately, 9:30 p.m., the boy ran from his residence in Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth, after having a dispute with his parent. The area was searched by his mother and when she could not locate him she contacted police. Police continued to search for the youth overnight but could not locate him. Kody Day is described as a white male, 4'9" tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, wearing a black hoodie, a tie dyed t-shirt, blue pants with a white stripe on the leg. If anyone has any information or has seen this child please contact Halifax Regional Police at 490-5020.

Update - (6:04 a.m.)
The missing youth was located at 5:55 a.m. attempting to re-enter the building where he resides. He is presently speaking with officers and appears to be in good health. He is being reunited with his mother.


COGSWELL street & north park street March 15, 2010 10-36674 -Injury Motor Vehicle Accident and Pedestrian - At 8:54 p.m., at the corner of Cogswell Street and North Park Street in Halifax. A 37-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the street. He was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The 49-year-old male driver was issued a summary offence ticket and charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.



1259 south park street March 11, 2010 10-35080 - Mischief - At 8:00 p.m., police responded a mischief call at 1259 South Park Street in Halifax. A witness reported observing three males in the graveyard. The males fled upon police arrival and were apprehended a short distance away. Officers noted damage to some headstones and grave markers. The three males, two adults and one youth, are facing charges of mischief in relation to religious objects. They were released to appear in court at a later date.


park February 9, 2010 10-19782 - Weapons charges - At approximately 12:57 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in Highfield Park in Dartmouth and located a .22 calibre gun. A man in his twenties, will appear in court today to face a number of firearms related charges.


park February 9, 2010 10-20235 - Assault - Approximately 8:10 p.m., Police were called to Highfield Park in Dartmouth to investigate an assault involving four males. One male was arrested and will face charges of assault causing bodily harm.



MORRIS street & south park street February 2, 2010 10-16945 - Traffic Accident - At 10:58 p.m., police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of South Park Street and Morris Street in Halifax. One vehicle driving south on South Park Street failed to stop at a red light and struck another vehicle driving west on Morris Street. No one was injured in the accident. One driver was issued a Summary Offence ticket for failing to stop at a red light.





1278 south park street December 22, 2009 09-187697 - Robbery - At 10:15 p.m., while working in the parking booth of 1278 South Park Street, Halifax, a suspect male, knocked on the door and forced his way inside and demanded the victim to open the till. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. The suspect was described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 190-200 lbs, wearing all dark clothing except white sneakers.



1278 south park street December 20, 2009 187466 --A 19 year old female pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck in the intersection of Upper Water and Barrington Street at 1:05pm. She was taken to the QE11 with non life threatening injuries. The 35 year old male driver of the truck was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.

Robbery 09-187618 -- At about 5:45 pm the victim was walking on Dublin Street in Halifax when he was approached by two suspects. The suspects demand his Ipod and cash and threatened to harm him if he called anyone. The victim was not injured and the suspects left the area. The suspects were described as a black male 16-20 years old, approx. height 5'11, thin build, black puffy winter jacket(parka style), black toque and clean shaven. Second suspect was a black male , 18-25 years old, approx. height 6'0, medium to heavy build, had a large black winter jacket on as well with a black toque. File is under investigation.

Robbery 09-187697>/b>--At about 10:15 pm the victim was working in the parking booth 1278 South Park Street. A lone male knocked on the door and forced his way inside. He threatened that he had a knife, and demanded the victim open the till. The suspect took all the bills and left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspect was described as a white male,6 feet tall, 190-200 lbs, wearing all dark Clothing except white sneakers.

5 parkstone road November 6, 2009 09-165177 - Assistance to Fire Services - At 11:45 p.m. officers assisted HRM Fire Serives with a house fire at 5 Parkstone Road in Dartmouth. No one was injured during the incident. The matter is presently being investigated by Fire officals.


480 parkland drive October 20, 2009 09-155418 - Robbery - At approximately 10 p.m. police responded to a hold up alarm at the Needs Convenience Store, 480 Parkland Drive. Prior to police arrival the suspect was buzzed into the store by the night clerk. While the clerk served a customer, the suspect walked around the counter and pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The suspect took a quantity of cash from the till and fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early twenties 5"9" to 6 " tall, wearing a grey hoodie with a black vest, black sneakers and a black ball cap.

SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road September 23, 2009 09-142105 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 3:30 p.m., an 18-year-old female was crossing South Park Street at Spring Garden Road when she was struck by a vehicle. The female was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Officers will be investigating to determine if charges are applicable.


albro lake road & HIGHFIELD PARK Drive September 13, 2009 09-136145 - Pursuit - An 18-year-old Eastern Passage man is in custody after an early morning incident in Dartmouth. At approximately 2 a.m., police received a report of an erratic driver in a small white car in the area of Highfield Park Drive. Officers located the vehicle on Victoria Road and attempted to pull it over. The driver refused to stop and the vehicle fled outbound toward the Magazine Hill. Units pursued the vehicle for a short distance, however, the pursuit was terminated due to the speed of the suspect vehicle. Less than 10 minutes later, the vehicle was observed driving inbound on the Magazine Hill. A spike belt was deployed, but the suspect managed to avoid striking it and continued into Burnside Business Park before police lost sight of him. Approximately 15 minutes later, the suspect vehicle was spotted on Albro Lake Road. Officers attempted to stop the car, but the driver again refused. Officers pursued the vehicle onto Woodland Avenue where the driver came to a sudden stop. A following police car clipped the rear end of the suspect vehicle as it came to a stop behind it. The driver was taken into custody without incident. The matter is still under investigation, but the driver is expected to face numerous charges, including dangerous driving and fleeing police.


park lane September 13, 2009 09-136973 - Assault - At 8:15 p.m., police were called to Park Lane Shopping Centre in relation to an assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female had entered the women's washroom on the food court level where she encountered a male. The male assaulted her and had an unidentified metal object in his hand. The victim screamed causing the suspect to flee. A security guard attempted to stop the suspect but was unsuccessful. The area was searched with negative results. The victim was not injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20's, approximately 6' tall, 160 lbs, short black hair with a slight goatee, wearing a white muscle shirt and tan plaid shorts.


park August 19, 2009 09-122844 - Motor Vehicle Accident - At approximately 2:30 p.m. a man was launching his boat at the boat ramp at Convoy Run Park in Bedford. After getting the boat off the trailer, his truck and trailer slid on slippery seaweed into the water. The truck was completely submerged and divers were called in to hook a tow cable to the truck to have the vehicle removed from the Basin. The total damage is estimated to be in excess of $30,000.


parkland drive August 13, 2009 09-118937 - Break and Enter and Weapons - At 3:17 a.m. police responded to a residence on Parkland Drive in relation to several males who had forced their way into the home at gun point. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival in a white older model vehicle similar to a Corolla. The house was occupied by five people, one of whom sustained a cut to his arm. It is unknown at the time of this report how the injury was sustained. Assorted electronics were taken. The matter remains under investigation.


highfield park drive August 9, 2009 09-114440/1161500 - Arson - At 1:48 a.m. police and HRM Fire Services responded to a fire in the second floor laundry room of an apartment building on Highfield Park Drive. A suspect had placed several flyers in a garbage can and lit them on fire. This fire was extinguished by a resident using a fire extinguisher. At 2:06 a.m. police and HRM Fire Services responded to a report of fire alarms and smoke at the same building. A fire was located in the third floor laundry room. Officers assisted Fire Services in evacuating residents. Fire investigators believe that a fire was deliberately set in a garbage can in the laundry room and spread to the surrounding wall, resulting in heavy smoke damage. A secondary fire point was located in the second floor south stairwell, but this fire had gone out on its own. Fire investigators are continuing to examine the scene at time of report.


100 highfield park drive July 26, 2009 09-108048 - Assault with a Weapon - At 12:45 a.m. two females and a male entered a pizza shop in the 100 block of Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth, and assaulted the employee by spraying him with a substance believed to be bear spray and striking him with a metal pipe. The employee was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The three suspects are known to the victim. At this time, robbery does not appear to be the motive behind the assault.


spring garden rd & SOUTH PARK St July 9, 2009 09-99729 South Park St/ Spring Garden Rd, Halifax

At 10:11 p.m. HRP was advised that a male driver had been sprayed with pepper spray at this location. The victim while driving on South Park St, was called a racial slur by another driver and then sprayed in the face with pepper spray. The victim was able to provide a suspect and vehicle description and subsequently he was located nearby and arrested. The victims injuries are minor and were treated on scene by EHS. The vehicle was searched and the pepper spray was recovered along with a small quantity of marijuana.

A Halifax man is being held in custody to appear in Halifax Provincial Court facing charges of assault with a weapon (pepper spray), possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.



SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road July 3, 2009 09-95891 - Robbery - At 10:17 p.m. a 26-year-old man reported that he had been robbed of his bicycle by two men in the area of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street, Halifax. The victim received minor injuries after being punched and kicked. Two suspect were quickly arrested a short distance away and the bicycle was recovered. The two men will appear in court on Monday to face charges of robbery. One man will face additional charges of resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.


highfield park drive June 27, 2009 09-92357 - Stabbing - At 7:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. Upon arrival, it was learned that two people had been stabbed by one suspect. Both victims were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Information leads investigators to believe that a domestic dispute began a chain of events that led to two men being stabbed by another man. It is believed that they all know each other. The Integrated GIS unit is continuing the investigation. A person of interest is being questioned at the time of this report.


highfield park drive June 15, 2009 09-85229 - Weapons - East Division officers responded to a disturbance at an apartment on Highfield Park Drive at approximately 11 a.m. It was determined that two females became involved in a dispute with 2 males at this location. The females, who were armed with a bat, reportedly broke a window at the apartment and were subsequently sprayed with bear spray and chased into a local business. All four parties were taken into custody at the scene.
One 18-year-old female face charges of possession of a weapon and property damage, and two males, both 19, will be charged with possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon. The second female was released without any charges.


SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road May 20, 2009 09-71247 - Arson - At 4 p.m., police received a report of two males attempting to light a portable toilet on fire at South Park Street and Spring Garden Road. Upon police arrival, one male was arrested after a short foot chase. The second male was arrested a short distance away.

April 23, 2009 09-57802 - Robbery - At 9:23 p.m. two male victims were walking in the area of the skate park on the Halifax Commons. They were approach by three male suspects who assaulted them and took their liquor. The matter remains under investigation.


RAINNIE drive & north park street April 21, 2009 09-56454 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 11:35 a.m. police were called to the intersection of North Park Street and Rainnie Drive in relation to a car and pedestrian accident. Upon arrival, police learned that a 62- year-old female turned left onto Rainnie Drive from North Park Street, striking a pedestrian who was crossing with the walk signal. The 15-year-old pedestrian was transported to hospital with minor injures, while the driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.


100 highfield park drive April 15, 2009 09-52646 - Robbery - At 11:04 a.m. two males entered an apartment in the 100 block of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth and sprayed the victim with bear spray. One of the suspects struck the victim with an object believed to be a gun. The suspects obtained a sum of money and left the apartment. The victim was treated on scene for minor injuries. The first suspect was described as a black man, 18-22-years-old, 6' tall, wearing dark baggy clothing. The second suspect was described as a white male, 16-18-years-old, 5'9" tall, wearing dark baggy clothing.


March 17, 2009 09-38212 - Robbery - At 7:56 p.m. a male and a female were approached by three suspects in the rear parking lot of Penhorn Mall in Dartmouth. The male victim was stabbed in the back and the female was sprayed with a pepper spray. The male victim was transported to the QE2 with non life threatening injuries. The first suspect was described as a white man, 22-23-years-old, wearing a brown suede jacket. The second suspect was described as a white male, 18-19-years-old and wearing a white ball cap. The third suspect was described as a white male, 18-19-years old. One of the suspects is known to the victim. This was not a random act.


February 17, 2009 09-23667 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 9:05 a.m. police responded to a car and pedestrian accident at the intersection of Parkland and Lacewood Drives. The pedestrian was in a crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle. The injuries were very minor with the victim being treated on scene by EHS. The driver of the vehicle was charged for failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian at an intersection.


1500 south park street February 16, 2009 09-24044 - Assault and Forcible Confinement - At 11:15 p.m. police responded to an apartment building in the 1500 Block of South Park Street, Halifax. A 24-year-old woman reported that she was in a woman's washroom when the lights suddenly went out and she was grabbed from behind and held by a masked man. The woman screamed and wrestled with the man and eventually broke free. The woman's screams alerted other tenants who restrained the man until police arrived. The woman received only minor injuries and was assessed by EHS on scene. A 19-year-old man is being held for Court tomorrow to face charges of assault, forcible confinement and wearing a disguise.


1100 south park st December 27, 2008 191169 Theft from Motor Vehicle- At 11 p.m. police were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Park St in relation to a Theft from MV in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed two males matching the suspect descriptions. A foot chase ensued and the two males (ages 18 and 24) were apprehended. Subsequent investigation resulted in the males being charged with several counts of Theft From MV and Property Damage.

14 highfield park drive December 19, 2008 08-188093 - Robbery - Shortly before 11:30 p.m. a man entered the Needs Convenience store, 14 Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth, indicated to staff that he had a gun and demanded cash. A small amount of money was taken and the suspect fled on foot from the store. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white man, 20-25-years-old. The matter remains under investigation.


1100 south park street December 4, 2008 08-179896 - Sexual Assault and Weapon - Police responded to the 1100 block of South Park Street at 4:10 pm in relation to a weapons call. A woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a man inside an apartment on the 6th floor at this location. When officers arrived, the male suspect initially refused to come out of his apartment and indicated he had a weapon. After some negotiation, he turned himself over to police without incident. He is currently in police custody and faces several weapons and sex related offences. The female was taken to the QE11 for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and details of charges are not available at this time.


December 4, 2008 08-180045 - Robbery - At 9:30 p.m. a 16-year-old male was riding his bicycle in Shubie Park when he was approached by two males. They pulled him of his bike and fled the area with the bike. The victim was not injured during the incident. The suspects are described as white males between 16-18-years-old, wearing jeans, hoodies, and sneakers.


joseph young street & HIGHFIELD PARK Drive October 19, 2008 08-155035 - Weapons - At 3:30 a.m. a man was chased by another man with a handgun on Joseph Young Street, Dartmouth. The suspect caught up with the victim, threatened him with gun and then fled on foot. The victim was not injured during the incident and no shots were fired. The suspect is a black male, weighing approximately 150 pounds. The matter remains under investigation. This is not believed to be a random act.

Update - 4:58 a.m. October 18
An 18-year-old male was arrested without incident at a business on Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. A search warrant was also executed on a Pinecrest Drive address but nothing was seized. The accused will appear in Dartmouth Court on Monday to face weapons charges.


October 16, 2008 08-154313 - Assault and Weapon - At 8:30 p.m. a woman was walking to her vehicle which was parked near 1515 Dresden Row, Halifax, when a man called to her and then grabbed her arm, cutting it with an unknown object. The victim continued on to her vehicle and left the area. The victim did not require medical attention for her injury. The suspect was described a white man in his late 20's, 5' 11" tall, thin build, buzzed hair cut, wearing a dark jacket and dark clothes.


2001 north park street September 25, 2008 08-142470 - Bicyclist and Motor Vehicle Accident - At 8:36 a.m. police were called to the area of 2001 North Park Street in Halifax as a result of a youth being hit by a car. A 14- year-old male was driving his bicycle in the crosswalk at this location when he was hit by a car. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene. The driver of the offending vehicle was charged with Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.


kearney lake road & PARKLAND Drive August 11, 2008 08-118359 - Attempted Robbery - At 4:20 this morning, a woman reported she was arriving at her home on Rosehurst Close (off of Parkland Drive) and noted a man standing at her front door. She thought it was a family member, but as she approached, she saw it was not. The man, who had a bandana over his face, grabbed for her purse. A brief struggle ensued as the suspect tried to take the purse, but he was unsuccessful, and eventually ran off empty handed. The woman was not injured during the incident. She last observed the suspect running on Parkland Drive in the direction of Kearney Lake Road. She could only describe the suspect as a man of average height with a thin build, wearing a dark top and blue jeans, along with the bandana over his face.


highfield park drive August 6, 2008 115483 Robbery - At 9:40 p.m., a white male carrying a steak knife entered the Ritestop Convenience Store on Highfield Park Drive and demanded money. The cashier gave the suspect an amount of cash after which he fled the store.

The suspect is described as, 5'8", 160 lbs, early 20's, medium build, wearing a red zip-up hoodie, grey track pants with 2 white stripes, a black and white bandana over face, and white ladies gloves with pink and blue. The steak knife had a black plastic handle.

18 parkland drive August 5, 2008 08-114671 - Robbery - At 10:58 a.m. police responded to a report of a robbery at the CIBC, 18 Parkland Drive, Halifax. A man entered the bank, walked up to a teller and presented a note indicating that he wanted money or he would shoot. The suspect was given an amount of cash and fled the bank in an unknown direction of travel. No weapon was observed and no one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s, 5'6-5'10 tall, 150-170 lbs, salt and pepper hair, wearing a large blue parka rain jacket, blue baseball hat, and sun glasses. The man cover the lower portion of his face with a cloth.


SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road July 27, 2008 08-110106 - Robbery - At approximately 12:35 a.m. a 25-year-old man was approached by two other males near the intersection of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street, Halifax. The two males confronted the victim and then assaulted him and took his wallet. The victim received an injury to his head that is not serious. The only description available at this time is that both of the suspects were male. The matter remains under investigation.


highfield park drive July 27, 2008 08-109594 - Assault with a Weapon - At 1:38 a.m. two males approached another male in front of the Needs Store on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. One of the two males began to swing at the lone male. The two suspects ran from the area once the assault was over. At that time, the victim realized he had been stabbed in the side. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 18-years-old, with corn rows in his hair, and wearing a red T-shirt, long denim shorts below the knee and white sneakers. The matter remains under investigation.


July 24, 2008 08-108930 - Robbery - At 10:55 p.m. police responded to a report of a fight on the Halifax Commons near the skate board park. Upon arrival several victims were interviewed. The victims indicated they were robbed at knife point by several other men. They were not injured during the incident. Moments after police arrival, two adult suspects were apprehended on the Commons and will appear in court on Monday charged with two counts of 'Robbery.'


park & cogswell street June 13, 2008 08-84807 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 6:52 a.m. police responded to the intersection of North Park and Cogswell Street, Halifax regarding a vehicle and motorcycle accident. The driver of the vehicle turned left into the path of the north-bound motorcycle, causing a collision. The 40-year-old driver of the vehicle was issued a Summary Offence ticket for 'Failing to Yield the Right of Way.' The 25-year-old driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


94 highfield park drive June 7, 2008 08-82622 - Robbery - At 10:13 p.m. police responded to a robbery at the Ritestop, 94 Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. Upon arrival officers learned that a man had entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash. The suspect received an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene on foot. The scene was searched by Patrol and a K-9 unit but the suspect was not located. The suspect was described as a white male, 20-35-years-old, dirty blond or brown hair, wearing a grey toque, a solid blue bandana covering his face, blue plaid shirt and dark pants. The knife was described as approximately 12" long.


June 5, 2008 08-80922 - Drug Search - At 7 p.m. members of the West Division Quick Response Unit, patrolling the area of Dingle Park in response to ongoing complaints of drug use in the area, checked a pair of vehicles parked beside one another, a Pontiac Sunfire with a number of occupants, and a Honda Civic with one male occupant. A smell of freshly smoked marijuana was observed coming from the Honda, and the driver was asked to exit the vehicle. During a subsequent search, the members seized a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the car, along with a cannister of bear spray. The 21-year-old occupant was arrested and later released, scheduled to appear in court at a later date charged with possession of marijuana, and a prohibited weapon (the bear spray).


May 13, 2008 08-68543 - Theft of PIN Device - At 1:20 p.m. three suspects entered the Bentley's Luggage Store, in the Parklane Mall, Halifax, stole the store's debit device and replaced it with a device of their own. The suspects left the store on foot. The first suspect was described as a woman of Middle Eastern descent, 24 years old, 5 5" tall, thin, approx 115 lbs, dark brown hair and dark eyes, wearing large sunglasses, black pants with large pockets and zippers and black high top sneakers with a pink swoosh. The second suspect was described as a man of Middle Eastern Descent in his 20's, 5' 6" tall, thin, 140 lbs, short black hair, with dental braces, and wearing a white sweater, jeans and a white baseball hat. The third suspect was described as a black man in his late 20's, 6' tall, large frame, 250-300 lbs, black hair, and wearing a red, white and black checkered jacket, black pants, and white sneakers. The matter remains under investigation.


May 9, 2008 08-67171 - Missing Mountain Bikers - At 5:00 p.m. police were called to the Bayers Lake Industrial Park in relation to three men who went missing while mountain biking in the woods. The men left during the morning and were to return at 1:00 p.m. As police were preparing to look for them, one man emerged from the woods in Bayers Lake Industrial Park, while the other two came out of the woods on Highway 102. All three men were cold and wet, but did not sustain any injuries.


April 27, 2008 08-60610 - Attempted Robbery - At 1:05 a.m. a taxi driver was threatened at knife point in the area of the Clayton Park Drive near Bayview Drive, Halifax by two fares he had picked up only moments prior at the Centennial Arena on Vimy Avenue. The driver refused to turn over his money and the two suspects eventually jumped out of the car as it was still in motion and disappeared into the surrounding properties. The taxi driver was not injured during the incident. The suspect armed with the knife was described as a light skinned black male, 20-years-old, 5'9" tall, 140 lbs, shaved head, clean shaven, wearing a dark green long sleeved hockey style shirt and dark pants. The other suspect was described as a white male, 16-18-years-old, 5'9" tall, 140 lbs, clean shaven, wearing a dark blue hooded sweat top and baggy pants. Officers are investigating both robberies but are almost certain that the suspects are the same for this and the taxi robbery that occurred 20 minutes earlier just a few block away.


April 25, 2008 08-59205 - Pedestrian and Motor Vehicle Accident - At 12:17 p.m. a 54-year-old woman walking in a crosswalk in the parking lot of West End Mall was struck and knocked down by an SUV driven by a 47-year-old woman. The victim was assessed at the scene and taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of a headache and hip pain. A ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian within a crosswalk was issued to the driver of the SUV.


SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road March 19, 2008 08-40099 - Bicycle Accident - At 8:12 p.m., police responded to an accident involving a bicyclist and an elderly lady near South Park Street and Spring Garden Road, Halifax. The bicyclist drove onto the sidewalk to cut across South Park Street and struck a 60-year-old woman walking on the sidewalk. The lady fell to the ground striking her head. The victim was treated at the hospital and released. Police issued two Summary Offence tickets to the bicyclist, for 'Driving Without a Light' and 'Driving on the Sidewalk.'


highfield park drive March 18, 2008 08-39237 - Barricaded Person, Weapons, Threats - At 6 a.m., police were called to a residence on Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth where a 23-year-old male had allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a knife. Upon arrival, police found the female victim in the parking lot with an acquaintance. When officers went to the apartment to investigate, the male suspect threatened officers from the other side of the door and indicated he was in possession of weapons and would use them against officers. Residents were evacuated and the Emergency Response Team was contacted. The suspect then threatened to set fire to the apartment. He lit a couple of small objects on fire and threw them out of the window. Because of the threat to light the building on fire and the subsequent potential danger to other tenants, the decision was made to enter the apartment immediately and arrest the suspect. He waved a knife and threw a number of objects at officers as they breached the door and entered the apartment, but eventually surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow facing numerous threats, assault and weapons related charges.


March 18, 2008 08-39503 - Suspicious Circumstances - At approximately 3:00 p.m., a young girl was approached by a man while walking on the path between Duc Danville School and Clayton Park Junior High School, Halifax. The man asked the girl to come with him. The girl realized something was wrong and ran home tell her mother. The suspect was described as a dark skinned man, approximately 5' 8" tall, medium build, with a large nose and wearing a dark blue or black jacket. The man spoke with a thick accent. The matter remains under investigation.


March 13, 2008 08-37029 Injury Accident - At 7:31 PM a two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Highfield Park Drive and Victoria Road, Dartmouth. The passenger of one vehicle was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The other vehicle left the scene and struck a second vehicle on Wyse Road. The driver was given the Breathalyzer demand and will be charged with 'Impaired Driving' and 'Leaving the Scene of an Accident.'


Update to
morris & south park street February 27, 2008 08-28917 - Motor Vehicle and Pedestrian Accident - At 6:45 a.m., police responded to an accident involving a truck and pedestrian at the intersection of Morris and South Park Street, Halifax. The south bound truck was attempting to make a left hand turn off of South Park on to Morris. The driver yielded for one pedestrian crossing through the crosswalk, then proceeded to make the turn. The driver did not see a second pedestrian in the crosswalk and struck a 23-year-old female. This was partly due to the heavy rain. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The 48-year-old male driver was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for 'Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Marked Crosswalk.'


February 20, 2008 08-25905 - At 8:30 a.m., a 25-year-old woman received minor injuries to her hip as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Ogilvie Towers, Halifax. The female was exiting her vehicle when she was struck by a vehicle attempting to back out of a parking spot. No charges were laid in relation to the accident.






February 7, 2008 08-19062 - Weapons - At 12:30 p.m., police were called to Clayton Park Junior High regarding a dispute between students. Shortly before classes one student pulled a knife on another student. The accused threatened to stab the victim if he bothered another student. A 14- year-old male student has been charged with 'Threats', 'Possession of a Weapon' and 'Assault with a Weapon.' He was released on conditions to remain away from the victim and the School.


90 highfield park drive February 5, 2008 08-18382/08-18220 - Recovered Stolen Motor Vehicle - At 3:45 a.m., police checked a suspicious man near a motor vehicle in the parking lot of 90 Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. The man observed police and tried to get into the car. The car had been reported as stolen and the man was arrested. The 46-year-old man will appear in Court today to face charges of 'Theft', 'Possession of Stolen Property' and 'Property Damage.'


50 highfield park drive January 26, 2008 08-12593 - Drugs - Shortly after midnight, the Integrated Drug and Quick Response Units conducted a search at a residence in the 50 block of Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth. A quantity of marihuana, marihuana grow equipment, cash, and weapons were seized. Two men and one woman will appear in court at a later date charged with 'Trafficking', 'Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking' and weapon offences.

January 9, 2008 08-4539 - Pedestrian and Motor Vehicle Collision - At 7:22 a.m. police responded to an injury motor vehicle collision at Radcliffe and Lacewood Drives in Clayton Park. An adult male pedestrian was struck in a marked crosswalk with overhead lights activated, and was later taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver was issued two tickets, one for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and the other for no insurance.



100 highfield park drive December 16, 2007 07-189025 - Robbery - At 4:12 a.m., a man wearing a grey hoodie entered the Needs Convenience Store at 100 Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth and produced a note demanding money. The clerk initially hesitated, at which time suspect intimated that he had a weapon. An undetermined amount of cash taken. The clerk was not injured during the incident. The matter remains under investigation.


October 26, 2007 07-163755 - Robbery - At 7:23 p.m., a man entered the Needs Convenience store on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth and told the clerk he was there to rob the place. The suspect filled several bags with groceries and walked out. The suspect was found walking in the area by police and was arrested. He will appear in court on Monday to face a charge of robbery and breach of probation. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.


GO 07-162764 - Robbery - At approximately 12:55 a.m., police responded to a robbery in progress at the Esso Service Station, 116 Wyse Road, Dartmouth. A man entered the convenience store, made small talk with the clerk, and without warning, went behind the counter, and demanded the till. A physical struggle ensued resulting in the clerk suffering a minor injury to one of his hands. The suspect fled on foot. No weapon was seen during the incident. An undisclosed quantity of money was taken. A K-9 unit attempted to track the suspect but was not successful. The suspect was described as a white man, approximately 20-30-years-old, 5'10" tall, with short blonde hair, and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue shorts. The matter remains under investigation.

2000 north park street October 22, 2007 07-161525 - Drugs - At 9:45 p.m., members of the Integrated Drug Unit assisted by the Central Division Quick Response Unit and Patrol members executed a Search Warrant at an apartment in the 2000 block of North Park Street. Seized were quantities of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. Arrested in the residence without incident, and scheduled to appear in court at a later date facing charges of 'Possession for the 'Purpose of Trafficking' were a 25-year-old man and 26-year-old man, both of Halifax.


Prostitution - Members of the Integrated Vice Unit were busy in Halifax's north-end, making several prostitution related arrests. Five women, ranging in age from 29 to 49, were arrested between 9:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. for 'Communicating for the Purpose of Prostitution.' All of the arrests were made in the area bound by Agricola, Bloomfield, Isleville and North Streets, and were independant of one another. All of the women were released, scheduled to appear in court at a later date.


south park street October 3, 2007 07-151265 - Robbery - At approximately 9:30 p.m., two mem entered an apartment on South Park Street in Halifax, produced a knife and threatened the two occupants of the apartment. The suspects made off with a laptop computer and an undisclosed amount of cash. The victims were not injured during the incident. The suspects were described as a white man in his 20's, 5'8" to 5'11" tall, wearing baggy clothes and a black man, 20 to 30- years-old, 5'6" to 5'10" tall, wearing black pants, red hoodie, and a red and white scarf over his face. The matter remains under investigation.



park & cogswell street September 21, 2007 07-143096 - Robbery - At 3:00 a.m., a man walking in the area of North Park and Cogswell Street in Halifax was approached by two men. One suspect stated he was armed and demanded the victim's wallet and personal items. The suspect fled after receiving the wallet and personal items. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The suspects are described as black men, each weighting approximately 160 lbs. One of the suspects was wearing a black bandana on his head.

September 11, 2007 07-137346 Attempt Robbery and Stabbing - at 12:50 a.m. a male, who had been stabbed several times, was found in the bushes on the Commons near North Park Street. The victim indicates he was walking in the Halifax area at about 7:30 p.m. when he was approached by several males who demanded his money. When he refused they assaulted him and one of the suspects stabbed him. The victim wandered into the Commons where he passed out until being found. A description of the suspects is not available. The victim's wounds appear to be non life-threatening. The matter remains under investigation.

September 11, 2007 07-137698 Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - The Integrated Drug Unit executed a Search Warrant in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive. As a result a quantity of crack cocaine, pills, a small quantity of marihuana were seized along with cash and scales. Two adult males face 2 counts of Possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession.

FENWICK street & south park street August 28, 2007 07-129438 Attempted Robbery - At 1:30 p.m., a women was walking in the area of South Park Street and Fenwick Street in Halifax with a friend. When they passed by a group of adults, a man attempted to grab her purse and pull her to the ground. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-40-years-old. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The matter remains under investigation.

highfield park drive August 23, 2007 07-126491 - Theft - At 2:33 p.m., four male youths entered the Needs convenience store on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth and took an undetermined amount of merchandise. Responding officers located and arrested the four suspects. All will be charged and released on conditions.

August 4, 2007 07-116302, 07-116334 - Break and Enter - Police responded to two break and enter complaints in the Creighton Park and Woodland Road area of Dartmouth. The first break and entered occurred on Lakeview Avenue. The resident awoke during the break in, causing the thieves to flee. The resident was not injured but a small amount of personal property was taken. A K-9 unit tracked the suspects to a second break location on nearby Charles Street. Two eighteen-year-old were arrested at the scene and were interviewed by investigators. It is anticipated that break and enter charges will be laid in this matter.



SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road July 26, 2007 07-110456 - Hit and Run Accident - At approximatley 2:07 a.m., a cyclist was struck by a vehicle while making a left turn at the intersection of South Park Street and Spring Garden Road. The vehicle did not stop and left the area. The cyclist received minor injuries and did not seek medical treatment. The only description of the vehicle was a Red Dodge Magnum with a Nova Scotia License plate.


60 highfield park drive July 26, 2007 07-109977 - Weapons - At 1:10 p.m., Police received a complaint that a male in the 60 block of Highfield Park Drive, Dartmouth, was threatening people with a hand gun. Upon arrival, Police observed the suspect near the lobby of the building. The suspect was detained after he attempted to walk away. A loaded hand gun and a bullet proof vest were recovered during an area check. The suspect will appear in Court tomorrow morning to face various weapon charges.

north park street July 26, 2007 07-110994 - Robbery - At 9:35 p.m., a man was walking across the Commons near North Park Street when he was confronted by a group of white men. The men demanded the victim's money and knocked him down. The victim did not give any money and the suspects left. The only description give was that the suspects were as white males. The victim was treated at hospital for non life threatening injuries. The matter remains under investigation.


highfield park drive July 3, 2007 07-95931 - Robbery - At 3:25 a.m. the Ultramar gas station on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash. A 36-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were taken into custody by responding officers. Both were charged with the robbery and are scheduled to appear in court today. The stolen cash was recovered.

June 19, 2007 07-87825 Break and Enter - At approx. 3:25 p.m. a resident on Chelton Woods Lane in Clayton Park returned home and confronted a male exiting the home. The suspect left in a white vehicle which officers spotted a short time later. The suspect was arrested in the area of Brackley Place after a lengthy foot pursuit.

UPDATE - As a result of investigation conducted by the General Investigative Section, the 30-year-old man has been charged with four Break & Enters:
- a March 24 break into a business in the 1100 block of Barrington Street where computer equipment was stolen,
- a June 14 break into a Parkland Drive apartment where cash, jewellery, and personal effects were stolen,
- two breaks into homes on June 19 on Chelton Woods Lane where personal effects were stolen.


June 12, 2007 07-84039 - Robbery - At 4:50 p.m. a female on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth was approached and robbed of her purse. The vitim was not injured during the robbery. The suspect is described as a black male, 18 to 20-years-old, slim build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and baggy grey sweat pants. The suspect fled on foot towards Pinecrest Drive. The matter is under investigation.


June 2, 2007 07-79330 Injury Accident - At 3:44 p.m. a driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked car. The 18-year-old male driver and a 19-year-old female passenger were treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The third passenger and the three occupants of the parked vehicle were uninjured. The incident remains under investigation.



highfield park drive May 17, 2007 07-69737 Robbery - At 3 a.m. a male carrying a knife entered the Ultramar store on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth and demanded cash. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes in a blue, 4-door car. The suspect is described as a white male, 28-32 years of age, 6', 220 lbs, blonde eye lashes, wearing a green hooded sweat shirt and a red and white mask over his mouth and nose, black pants with a stripe. There were no injuries and the matter is still under investigation.

park lane May 17, 2007 07-69711 Theft - Patrol Officers responded at 11:10 a.m. to Park Lane Mall where Security had detained two males believed to be responsible for theft of items from a storage facility at the mall. Following investigation the men, one 50 and one 46, were released, scheduled to appear in court at a later date on charges of Break Enter and Theft.

May 9, 2007 07-65714 Found Human Remains - Police received a call at 4:24 p.m. from a person walking in the area of Frenchman's Lake in Burnside Industrial Park indicating he discovered human remains. The incident is under investigation.

SOUTH PARK street & spring garden road March 27, 2007 07-43694 Robbery A 53-year-old woman was pushed to the ground by two men in the area of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street in Halifax at about 9 p.m. The victim had a number of personal items removed from her purse and the suspects fled the scene. The first suspect is described as black, aged 17-25, approximately 6' tall, 200 lbs., with a muscular build and wearing a baseball hat and a dark leather jacket. The second man is described as Asian, aged 17-25, with short dark hair and a muscular physique, and wearing a blue winter jacket, black pants and black boots. While obviously shaken, the woman did not sustain any injuries. This matter remains under investigation.


DUNBRACK street & clayton park drive March 21, 2007 07-39818 Car and Pedestrian Accident - At 5:47 p.m. a pedestrian crossing in a marked crosswalk with lights activated was struck by a car on Dunbrack Street at Clayton Park Drive in Halifax. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries. The driver was charged for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
