The building was checked and the suspect was located on the third floor. A 34-year-old Halifax man was arrested and charged without incident for an Indecent Act and taken to court. |

September 22, 2007 | 07-144444 - Bicycle Helmets Work! - At 3:15 a.m., a 29-year-old man was driving his bicycle down Duke Street when he lost control of the bike on wet pavement. He crashed the bike into the curb and garbage container at the corner of Argyle and Duke, knocking himself unconscious. He received a cut to his arm and broke at least one finger. Shortly after police arrival, the victim became alert and was taken to the QEII Hospital with not life threatening injuries. His bicycle helmet was badly damaged, but did its job of protecting the bicyclist’s head. Update - Arrest | |

January 27, 2007 | 13243 Weapons At 12:10 a.m., officers received a report that a male had been assaulted on Preston Street by a suspect who was armed with a handgun. Upon arrival the victim refused to cooperate. A white limousine that was originally at the crime scene was stopped on Duke Street shortly after the call, and a handgun was recovered from the vehicle which had 10 people inside. The investigation is continuing. | |

September 12, 2006 | 06-122352 Pedestrian-Motor Vehicle Collision A traffic collision involving a pedestrian and motor vehicle occurred at the intersection of Duke and Hollis Streets at 9:30 a.m. A truck was stopped on Duke Street at 9:30 a.m. facing east. A passenger was exiting the rear and struck a 34-year-old woman cyclist who was also travelling east with the truck door which threw her into a patio post. She required minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. Citizens are reminded to check their surroundings when exiting a vehicle to prevent incidents like this from occurring. |

February 4, 2006 | 06-14236 Robbery 8:50 p.m. A male and female confronted two females , the area of Upper Water and Duke Street, demanding money. They indicated they had a weapon but none was seen. The victims gave them an amount of cash and the suspects fled the scene. The first suspect is described as a white male, 6'2, wearing a dark touque covering his eyes, and a long black coat. The second is described as a white female, 5'2, 160 lbs, dirty blond hair pulled into a ponytail, with a round freckly face, wearing a dark blue and yellow jacket. |

February 3, 2006 | 06-14264 Robbery 10:10 p.m. A male and female couple confronted another male and female couple , the area of Upper Water and Duke Street. The suspects attempted to steal the female's purse. A struggle ensued and eventually the suspects fled without having obtained anything. The matter is under investigation along with the previous incident at the same location. |

March 17, 2005 | 10303- Attempted Robbery on Brunswick Street near Duke Street. At 12:50 a.m. a man was approached by a group of 5 males who attempted to steal his IPOD. The suspects indicated that they had a knife however none was seen. The victim was assaulted but the suspects failed to get any of his property. Police took a suspect into custody a short distance away. No charges were laid , relation to this incident and the matter is still under investigation. |

April 19, 2003 | 15493 Injury accident at Duke St and Barrington. Police were dispatched to this location at 12:08 pm after two cars collided. The 27 year old passenger , one of the vehicles appears to have suffered shoulder and hip trauma but the injuries are not life threatening. She was taken to the QE2 by ambulance for treatment. Traffic was shut down for 25 minutes while the site could be cleared of debris and officers could do their investigation. The cause of the accident is under investigation. |

January 30, 2003 | 4169 Industrial accident at Strescon 131 Duke St Bedford. Police responded to this location at 3:32 pm after a call of a worker being injured by a truck at the scene. The employee was assisting with a large trailer used to transport steel girders when the trailer rolled over his legs. The injuries are described as serious but not life threatening. The 44 yr old male was taken to the QE2 for treatment. The Dept of Labor has been called , to investigate further. |

September 8, 2002 | 36944 - Police responded to a bicycle accident at Barrington and Duke Streets at 9:38 p.m. The 20-year-old male cyclist was traveling down Duke Street at a high speed. He failed to stop at the red light at Barrington Street, then failed to negotiate the right turn onto Barrington Street. He struck the exterier wall of the CIBC building and was taken to hospital for treatment of lacerations to his face. | |
