THORNHILL drive & auburn avenue September 21, 2009 09-141158 - Attempted Abduction - At 4 p.m. Police were called to the area of Auburn Avenue and Thornhill Drive, Halifax regarding an attempted abduction. Upon speaking with the 10- year-old victim, officers learned that she was walking home after school at approximately 3:45 p.m. when she was approached by a man driving a grey or silver 4 door vehicle. The driver ordered the victim to get into his vehicle. When she refused, the suspect exited his vehicle and approached the victim at which time she hit him with her school bag and ran home, reporting the incident to her parents. The area was searched with negative results and police are searching for the suspect who is described as a dark complected black man, between 35 and 45-years- old, 5'7" tall, medium build, short black hair, wearing black baggy clothing and driving a grey or silver 4 door vehicle.

herring cove road & AUBURN Avenue July 5, 2008 08-98521 - Stolen Vehicle - At 10 p.m. a patrol member noted a dark coloured van with several passengers travelling on Herring Cove Road. A check of the license plate revealed the Chrysler van had been reported stolen a few days ago. The vehicle was stopped at the top end of Auburn Avenue and three youths were detained. A 15-year-old male will appear in youth court at a later date to face charges of 'Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.'

THORNHILL drive & auburn avenue August 24, 2007 07-127782 - Traffic Stop and Seized Weapon - At 9:07 p.m., police stopped a vehicle in the area of Thornhill Drive and Auburn Avenue in Halifax. A loaded handgun was located inside the vehicle. The weapon was seized and several occupants from the vehicle were taken into custody. Four male youths were charged with weapons offences and a host of breach charges. Two will be appearing in Youth Court on Monday morning, two will be released on conditions Sunday morning.
