armcrescent December 7, 2011 11-185684 - Break and Enter - At 5:14 a.m., police responded to the 2000 block of Armcrescent in Halifax, in report of a three males breaking into a shed. One male was arrested after a brief foot pursuit and a second male was located and arrested by the K-9 unit a short distance away. A third suspect, described as a white male, 5'8" tall wearing dark clothing, was not located and the matter remains under investigation. The two males, ages 18 and 21, appeared in court today facing charges of Break and Enter and Breaching Court Orders.



May 25, 2011 11-74706 - Break and Enter - At approximately 2:10 a.m., police were called to the 5600 block of Armoury Place in Halifax. A resident had awoken to the sound of an intruder inside the home. Police located a 33-year-old male inside the residence, he was arrested and held for court to face charges of break and enter into a dwelling. It appears that entry was gained by the suspect smashing out a basement window. No one was injured during the incident.




CARMICHAEL street & grafton street April 23, 2011 11-57411 - Mischief - At 12:57 a.m., staff from a near-by lounge called police to report that a man who had just been refused entry to the lounge was walking up Carmichael Street and Grafton Street in Halifax slashing the tires of parked vehicles. The suspect had left the area prior to police arrival but was located in the area a short time later. A 20-year-old Halifax man will appear in court at a later date to face facing Mischief charges.


north west arm drive December 12, 2010 10-189226 - Weapons - At 9:44 p.m., a robbery was reported in the Sackville area. Members of the RCMP attended and a description of the suspect and vehicle was broadcasted. At 10:05 p.m., the vehicle was spotted on the North West Arm Drive in Halifax by a Halifax Regional Police officer. As a result of a traffic stop, a loaded firearm was located and seized as well as a quantity of marijuana. An adult female, adult male and two male young offenders were arrested and will attend court to face numerous weapon, drug and other criminal code charges.




100 armstrong court March 27, 2010 10-42741 - Robbery - Approximately, 11:10 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Armstrong Court in Halifax. A delivery person was confronted by two males who demanded cash. One male was armed with a knife and the other with bear spray. One male sprayed the victim wih bear spray after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. Suspects are described as two males, wearing black jackets, jeans and bandanas. This matter is being investigated by the General Investigation Section.




October 5, 2009 09-148447 - Theft - Police were called to Mark's Work Warehouse just before 8 p.m. after a man left the store carrying an armful of merchandise that he did not pay for. A member of the staff chased the man, but discontinued after being threatened by the suspect. The man took off on foot into the woods behind the business. A K-9 Unit conducted a track into the woods and located the man hiding nearby. The stolen property was recovered. A 35-year-old Dartmouth man will appear in Halifax court tomorrow to face charges of theft, possession of stolen property, uttering threats and breaching previous court conditions.


NORTH WEST ARM drive & cowie hill road October 2, 2009 09-147074 - Missing Person - Police received a report that a man had entered the woods in the area of North West Arm Drive and Cowie Hill Road two hours earlier and was now lost. A K9 unit and an officer entered the woods to search for the man. Search and Rescue were called and as the first members arrived, the missing man called to report that he was now home.



carmichael street June 2, 2009 09-78416 - Robbery - At approximately 5:45 p.m. a man walking on Carmichael Street in Halifax, was approached from behind by a suspect who produced a knife to the back of the victim. The suspect demanded the victim's cash and the victim complied. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as a black male with a very dark complexion, approximately 6'1" tall, about 150 lbs, and his hair was in shoulder length corn rows. The suspect was missing a front tooth and was wearing a red sweatshirt, jeans and Nike sneakers. The matter remains under investigation.


NORTH WEST ARM drive & walter havill drive March 25, 2009 09-42240 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 9:42 p.m. a two vehicle head on accident occurred at the intersection of North West Arm Drive and Walter Havill Drive in Halifax. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. It is believed that alcohol may have been a factor in this incident.


armenia drive March 12, 2009 09-36311 - Break and Enter - At 11:30 p.m. an off duty police officer observed two youths break into his neighbor's home on Armenia Drive in Bedford. The officer instructed his wife to contact police and exited his home. The officer arrested the male and the female suspects and turned them over to responding officers to be transported to the police station. A 17-year-old female and 17-year-old male were charged with break and enter and released to their parents to appear in court at a later date.


November 15, 2008 08-169660 - Assistance to Citizen - At 11:30 a.m. a vehicle traveling into Halifax on the Bi Hi was struck by pieces of concrete falling from the bottom of the overpass at North West Arm Drive. The highway under the overpass as well as the overpass were closed to traffic from 11:30 a.m. - 1:05 p.m. when the Department of Transportation cleared the area as safe for vehicle traffic.


October 16, 2008 08-154313 - Assault and Weapon - At 8:30 p.m. a woman was walking to her vehicle which was parked near 1515 Dresden Row, Halifax, when a man called to her and then grabbed her arm, cutting it with an unknown object. The victim continued on to her vehicle and left the area. The victim did not require medical attention for her injury. The suspect was described a white man in his late 20's, 5' 11" tall, thin build, buzzed hair cut, wearing a dark jacket and dark clothes.


July 21, 2008 08-106890 - Weapons - At approximately 1:55 a.m. police responded to a possible weapons call involving the use of a firearm in Dartmouth. Indications were that a 24-year-old man had been injured as a result of a firearm discharge. The victim was located and found to be suffering from minor injuries to his foot. The matter is still under investigation.



May 8, 2008 08-66477 - Theft - At 12:00 p.m. police responded to a theft at Charm Diamond, Scotia Square Mall, Halifax. A 20-year-old woman entered the store and was looking at rings. She slipped on a $2000 diamond ring and ran out of the store. She was chased and arrested in the World Trade Center. The ring was recovered. She will appear in court at a later date to face charges of 'Theft' and 'Possession of Stolen Property.'


NORTH WEST ARM drive & old sambro road April 26, 2008 08-60308 - Motor Vehicle Accident -
At 10:57 a.m. police responded to the intersection of the Old Sambro Road and North West Arm Drive in relation to a motor vehicle accident. Vehicle #1 was stopped at the stop sign on North West Arm Drive and was rear ended by vehicle #2. Passengers in Vehicle #1 suffered minor soft tissue damage that did not require treatment. The driver of Vehicle #2, a 29-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving. He has subsequently been charged with 'Impaired Driving', 'Driving with over 80 mg/%', 'Driving While Revoked' and 'Driving Without Insurance.'




NORTH WEST ARM drive & osborne street March 19, 2008 08-39722 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 6:06 a.m., a two vehicle accident occurred near the intersection of North West Arm Drive and Osborne Street, Halifax when a car crossed the median, struck the front of a school bus and landed in the ditch. The male driver of the car, a 50-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. The matter is being reviewed to determine if charges will be laid.


March 5, 2008 08-32872 - Robbery - This incident occurred at 2:00 a.m. but was not reported to police until 10:53 p.m. A 38-year-old man standing in the stairwell of the Carmichael and Brunswick Street exit of the Metro Centre was approach by another man who produced a knife and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect cash. Then the victim's dog intervened and the suspect fled. The suspect was described as a black male. The victim did not wish to pursue the matter further.


January 19, 2008 08-9547 - Theft - At 900 p.m., members responded to a theft in progress at the Charm Diamond store in Penhorn Mall. A man entered the store and left on foot with two diamond rings . He was arrested by police a short distance away. The property was recovered and no one was injured during the incident. A 29-year-old man will appear in court at a later date to face changes of 'Theft' and 'Possession of Stolen Property.'


NORTH WEST ARM drive & old sambro road November 24, 2007 07-178333 - Motor Vehicle Accident - At 11:03 p.m., a single vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Old Sambro Road and North West Arm Drive in Halifax, when a vehicle struck a light standard knocking it into the power lines. Power to the Spryfield and St. Margaretís Bay Road area was out for 40 minutes. No one was injured in this incident.



October 18, 2007 07-159363 - Break and Enter - At 9:40 p.m., a female youth activated the intrusion alarm of the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission outlet store in Alderney Landing, Dartmouth, while attempting to smash the front entrance door with a rock. The suspect fled but was apprehended by police. A 15-year-old girl is being held for a Monday appearance in Youth Court to be arraigned on "Attempted Break and Enter" charges.


old sambro road & NORTH WEST ARM Drive September 28, 2007 07-146518 - Traffic Stop, Theft Possession over $5000 - At 2:30 a.m., police encountered a man driving a Bobcat machine on the shoulder of North West Arm Drive near Old Sambro Road in Halifax. The suspect left the machine and ran in the woods, making his way to the area of Long Lake. A K-9 unit gave chase and after an exhaustive search the suspect was found in chest high water, hiding behind a group of large rocks near the shore line. A 34-year-old man will appear in court in the morning to face charges of "Theft Over $5000", "Possession of Stolen Goods" and "Resisting Arrest."

QUINPOOL road & armview avenue May 13, 2007 07-67793 Injury Accident - At approx. 2:30 a.m. the driver of a vehicle heading outbound on Quinpool Road at Armview Avenue in Halifax lost control and struck a pole and a rock wall. The male driver, a male passenger and a female passenger were treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The matter is under investigation.

March 11, 2007 07-34890 Robbery - At 3:23 a.m. two suspects existed a vehicle and attempted to grab and rob a male on Brunswick Street at Carmichael Street in Halifax. The incident is under investigation.





January 26, 2007 13223 Weapons Officers conducted a traffic stop at 11:12 p.m. on Northwest Arm Drive at Walter Havill Drive and found a male passenger acting in a suspicious manner. Upon further investigation, the officers located a loaded handgun and arrested a 24-year-old male who faces firearms related offences.



January 13, 2007 07-6879 - 9:55 p.m. A male entered the Harrietsfield Irving armed with a handgun and demanded and received cash from the clerk before fleeing on an ATV in the direction of Sambro. He was described as a white male, 5'7, wearing an orange snow-suit and a black ski-mask.


November 5, 2006 06-150317 Vehicle and Pedestrian Collision 3:09 p.m. A male was struck in a crosswalk at the Armdale Rotary (Halifax). He was taken to hospital with an injury to his leg. The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

September 3, 2006 06-117425 Break and Enter At approximately 7:22 p.m. Police responded to an alarm the NSLC at Scotia Square Mall. When police arrived they discovered that the store had been broken into. The area was checked with negative results. A short time later the suspect returned to the area of the store and was apprehended by mall security and held until police arrived. As a result a 22-year-old male from Newfoundland will be appearing in court on Tuesday to face break and enter charges.

April 28, 2006 06-49927 Drug Trafficking 2:30 a.m. Police were called to a downtown Halifax Bar where a staff member reported she had observed a patron , possession of what she believed to be a firearm. Officers attended however the patron had exited the bar before their arrival. A description of the male was provided by the staff member and the male was subsequently located , front of another downtown bar by officers. They approached him and he fled. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit. No firearm was found on his person however he was , possession of a quantity of ecstacy pills. The 35-year-old will appear , court Monday on Charges of Possession of ecstacy for the purpose of trafficking.


February 20, 2005 6744- Injury accident at Argyle and Carmichael Streets. At 12:05 a.m. a male was struck by a vehicle , the crosswalk at Argyle and Carmichael Streets. He was transported to the QE2 and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was chaged for failing to yield to a pedestrian , the crosswalk.

July 26, 2004 31436 Attempted Robbery - At 1:50 a.m. a 35-year-old man suffered scrapes and bruises after 2 males, one armed with a knife, attempted to rob him of money on Citadel Hill. They were unsuccessful and fled after assaulting the victim. He was treated for minor injuries. This incident remains under investigation.

February 26, 2004 8236 Injury accident, Brunswick and Carmichael Streets - At 2:55 a.m. a single vehicle left the street and struck a pole. The two occupants were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

December 22, 2003 55063 At 2:31 p.m. an injury motor vehicle accident occurred at Northwest Arm Drive and Bay Road when a vehicle flipped over onto its roof. The lone driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

armview ave November 20, 2002 47914 - At 615 PM an Armview Ave resident was surprised to find an unwelcome intruder , their home upon her return home. The suspect fled the home but was quickly apprehended by police a short distance away. The arrest and identification was aided by the rather distinctive head wear sported by the suspect which allowed for quick recognition and identification. A 27 yr old Halifax man will appear , Halifax Provincial Court this morning the be arraigned on break and enter charges.

April 6, 2002 13744 - A male faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, armed robbery, dangerous driving and fleeing police after a robbery at the Pipeline Ultramar station on the Bedford Highway at 2:11 a.m. The suspect was armed with a knife and stole cigarettes and cash before fleeing , a van. Police gave chase after seeing the van moments later speeding inbound on the Bedford Highway. The pursuit lasted approximately 20 minutes and ended when the suspect lost control of the vehicle on Carmichael Street and ran into the Metro Centre. The suspect fled on foot, but police caught him immediately. Both the suspect and a female passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The female passenger has not been charged. The van had been stolen from MicMac Mall on Friday afternoon.
1750 armview avenue October 4, 2001 41025 - One adult was treated and released from hospital after a four vehicle accident occurred , the area of 1750 Armview Avenue at around 8:37 a.m.
