gottingen street & ALMON Street November 3, 2010 10-168052 - Break and Enter - At 1:45 p.m., a resident in the 6200 block of Almon Street in Halifax, called to report she had witnessed two males exiting the rear of a nearby home. Police responded and discovered the home had been broken into, as well as the one next door. A description of the suspects was obtained from the witness and two men were taken into custody by beat officers, a short time later on Gottingen Street. As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old male and a 50-year-old male both face two counts of break and enter charges. The 53-year-old man was released on a promise to appear while the 50-year-old man was in breach of his probation and held for court.

agricola & almon streets October 6, 2010 10-152765 - Robbery - At 1:50 a.m., a man was walking in the area of Agricola and Almon Streets when he met up with a female. The two walked to an address in the area, but before entering, the female assaulted the male by striking him in the face. The female suspect also took the victimís wallet containing an amount of cash. The female suspect then fled the area. She is described as a light skinned black female, small in stature, wearing a red jacket, dark pants and a black wool hat. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. Investigation is still ongoing.

6000 almon street July 3, 2010 10-95843 - Industrial Accident - At 6:25 p.m. police responded to an industrial accident in the 6000 block of Almon Street in Halifax. A 22-year-old man sustained injuries as a result of a fire that occurred while he was working on a vehicle. The man was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

5500 almon street February 14, 2010 10-21506 - Robbery - Shortly before 10 a.m., a business in the 5500 block of Almon Street in Halifax was robbed. A suspect entered the business and ordered the lone employee to remove cash from the safe. The victim opened the safe and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled the business. The suspect was described as a white man, 6'1" tall, 200 lbs, wearing a navy blue hooded track suit with a light coloured green design on the front. The matter remains under investigation.

robie street & ALMON Street June 27, 2009 09-92352 - Robbery - At 7:27 p.m. a man entered Velo's Pizza, 6100 Almon Street, Halifax, and demanded money from the register. The suspect fled towards Robie Street with a quantity of cash. After viewing surveillance tape footage, investigators believe the suspect is the same man from the three robberies in the area over the past day. The suspect was described as a white man, skinny, wearing a green cap, dark glasses, a green shirt, and carrying a black backpack.

Update - (4:57 a.m.)
At 1:50 a.m. officers arrested a man standing on Quinpool Road who matched the suspect description. A 31-year-old Halifax man was charged with 5 counts of robbery and 1 count of attempted robbery and will be appearing in court on Monday.

5500 almon street November 2, 2008 08-163628 - Assault - A 35-year-old Halifax man is facing charges of assault, assault peace office and attempting to disarm a peace officer afer an incident on Almon Street in Halifax just after 2:15 this afternoon. A member on routine patrol came upon a verbal and physical dispute between a male and female on the sidewalk in the 5500 block of Almon Street. When the officer attempted to intervene, the male became violent by pushing the officer onto the hood of a nearby vehicle and attempting to disarm the officer of his service pistol. Two men who were walking in the area at the time came to the officer's assistance. The male was eventually subdued and will appear in court tomorrow to answer to the above noted charges. Neither the officer nor the female required medical attention as a result of this incident.

September 25, 2008 08-143231 - Injury Accident - At approximately 5:00 p.m. a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while crossing in a crosswalk at the intersection of Gottingen and Almond Streets. The male was taken to hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The male driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.

6100 almon street April 14, 2008 08-54307 - At 11:30 p.m., Central Division Patrol and Quick Response members responded to a report of a man breaking into vehicles in a parkade at an apartment building in the 6100 block of Almon Street, Halifax. A 36-year-old man was arrested by responding officers as he was removing items from a vehicle. Officers discovered that multiple vehicles had been entered. The accused is scheduled to appear in court today charged with a number of counts of 'Theft', 'Property Damage' and 'Breaching a Recognizance.'

6055 almon street March 12, 2008 08-36600 - Shoplifting and Robbery - At 8:30 p.m., police received a report of a shoplifting incident at the Shopper's Drug Mart, 6055 Almon Street, Halifax. Two males entered the store and one shoplifted a pair of socks. Upon being confronted outside by security, one of the males produced a knife, then both fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The area was searched with negative results. The first suspect was described as a black male, 5 11" tall, slim build, short hair, wearing a green and black hoodie and track pants. The second suspect was described as a black male, 5 7" tall, slim build, wearing a beige hoodie. The matter remains under investigation.

5600 almon street March 6, 2008 08-32990 - Drug Search - The HRM Integrated Drug Unit conducted a search at a residence in the 5600 block of Almon Street, Halifax. A quantity of marihuana, crack cocaine, pills, scales and cash were seized. Two woman will appear in court at a later date to face drug related charges.

6100 almon street March 3, 2008 08-31567 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident At 9:22 a.m., a two vehicle accident occurred in the 6100 block of Almon Street, Halifax. A vehicle stopped to turn into the post office and was struck in the rear by a vehicle behind it. The driver of the first vehicle was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

ALMON street & robie street February 12, 2008 08-21535 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - A 55-year-old male was taken to the QE11 with non-life threatening injuries after a two vehicle accident at Robie and Almon Streets at 1:50 p.m. Vehicle 1, a Nissan Versa was travelling Northbound on Robie Street proceeding through a green light at the intersection of Almon Street. Vehicle 2, a GMC Sierra, was travelling Southbound on Robie Street and proceeded to turn left(eastbound) onto Almon Street directly into the path of vehicle 1. The Nissan was extensively damaged, but the driver was not injured. Charges against the 55-year-old driver of the truck, for failing to yield right of way, are pending.

robie & almon streets November 29, 2007 07-181175 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 8:00 a.m., a three vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Robie and Almon Streets in Halifax. One driver was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries to his wrists as a result of the air bags deploying. The injured driver was charged with failing to stop at an amber light when safe to do so.

isleville & almon streets July 9, 2007 07-100520 - Sexual Assault - This incident occured at 10:30 p.m. Monday but was reported late this afternoon. A women walking in the area of Isleville and Almon Streets was approached by a male on a black bike. He grabbed her by the buttocks and then drove off. He returned a short time later and assaulted her. The victim fought back, causing the suspect to flee. The suspect is described as a 25-year-old white male, 5'5" tall, straight teeth, slim build, dirty blond or sandy hair, "soul patch" (hair growing from the lower lip), black touque, blue jeans, black and blue checkered jacket and gold ring on his left hand. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The matter remains under investigation.

June 19, 2007 07-88008 Prostitution - At 9 p.m. members of the Integrated Vice Unit arrested a 45-year-old female at the corner of Agricola and Almond Streets for 'Communicating for the Purpose of Prostitution'.

DUBLIN street & almon street March 21, 2007 07-39914 Robbery - at 8 p.m. an adult male on Dublin Street at Almon Street in Halifax was approached by six teenagers. He was slapped and punched and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. He was not seriously injured. The suspects are described as white teen aged males wearing baggy pants and puffy coats. One suspect had tattoos on his right knuckles. The matter is still under investigation.

October 11, 2006 06-138337 Robbery and Arrest 8 p.m. Shoppers Drug Mart, 6055 Almon Street, Halifax. A male entered the business and went to the pharmacy where he produced a knife. He demanded and received narcotics before fleeing the store. HRP members responded and upon investigating, made an arrest in relation to the incident a short time later on Charles Street. A 37-year-old male will appear in court tomorrow, charged with the robbery.

November 23, 2005 100542-Motor Vehicle Collision-At 5:25 p.m. a cyclist was struck by a vehicle at Agricola and Almon Streets. The cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries. the matter is under investigation.

robie street & ALMON Street July 8, 2005 35158 Robbery with Violence At approximately 5 p.m. while walking along Almon Street near Robie Street, a male was approached by two other males. One of these males touched the victim's pockets and the other one punched him , the head, knocking him to the ground. At that point two other males appeared and all four began kicking him. The suspects removed a small amount of cash and some medication from the victim and fled the area on foot. The only description of the suspects is one was wearing a black jacket with red sleeves and one was wearing a green top and brown shorts. The victim suffered minor injuries. The matter is still under investigation.

6000 almon street May 29, 2005 21779- Weapons Call - At 7:00 a.m. police responded to the 6000 Block of Almon Street with regards to a male threatening another male with a knife. Police arrived on scene and the suspect was taken into custody. An adult male will appear , court to face weapons and threat charges.

February 5, 2005 4935-Injury motor vehicle accident. At 1:30 p.m. police responded to a two vehicle accident at Robie and Almon Streets. A truck and car collided with the truck ending up on it's side. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to stop at a red light.

almon street January 3, 2005 261 Car and Pedestrian collision, Agricola at Almon Street - At 9:50 a.m. a vehicle being driven by a 53-year-old man struck an 83-year-old woman as she was crossing , the crosswalk. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of a broken leg. The driver was ticketed for failing to yield to pedestrian , a crosswalk.

almon st & AGRICOLA St March 18, 2004 11623 Robbery at Agricola St. near Almon St. at 2000 hours. A 58-year-old male met a female at this location and returned to an address on Agricola St. Once inside this apartment, the male was robbed of his car keys by 4 males who were inside this apartment and indicated they had a gun, however, none was seen. The 4 male suspects took the victim out to his car and they all drove to a nearby ATM on Almon St. near Agricola St. At this time the victim went to the ATM and retrieved a quantity of cash, which was handed over to the suspects. The suspects then drove the victim to the area of Northend Pub and let him out, unharmed. The suspects then left with the victim's 91 Dodge Spirit. The matter is still under investigation.

January 23, 2004 3617 Robbery, 11:46 p.m., Agricola and Almon Streets. - A male was robbed by three females described as one wearing a yellow
jacket, a second wearing a light colored jacket and there is no description of the third. They were all , their late teens or early twenties. They approached the male victim as he left the automated teller and demanded money from him. He refused and the three attacked the man from behind, punching and kicking him. Taken was a small amount of cash and his bank card. He was not hurt , the incident. The area was checked by patrol and K-9 units without success. The matter is still uinder investigation.

almon st January 22, 2004 3243 Injury accident at Almon St & Deacon St. at 5:10 p.m. involving two motor vehicles. Two people were treated at scene and released,
while an 18 year old female was taken to hospital where she received stitches
for a cut on her forehead. The accident is
still under investigation.

6175 almon st November 6, 2003 47471 Industrial Accident - 12:04 a.m. 6175 Almon St, Canada Post - A 25 yr old male fell from a loading dock and was taken to the QE2 with none life threatening leg and hip injuries. The federal Dept of Labour will be investigating the matter.

5519 almon st September 14, 2003 38928 Robbery - At approximately 11:00 p.m. a male entered the Royal Cnd Legion at 5519 Almon St and demanded money. The employee resisted and suffered minor injuries as a result. The suspect fled on foot with cash and lotto tickets but was apprehended a short distance away by officers with the assistance of K9.Charges pending.

almon st August 13, 2003 33549 Robbery at 8:55PM on Almon St. A lone male entered the store with a knife. Stole a quantity of cash and cigaretts. There were no injuries. No description available at this time.

almon st March 11, 2003 9852 Injury accident on Almon St near Dublin at 3:33 pm. Two vehicles collided resulting , one person being removed to the QE2 for treatment for undetermined injuries not believe to be serious. The case is still under investigation at report time. No word on whether charges will be laid.

almon st February 11, 2003 5935 - Attempted Robbery - Royal Bank Almon St. -At 12:15 a.m. two men attempted to rob the bank but left empty-handed.One of them was armed with what appeared to be a sawed-off rifle or shotgun. No shots were fired and there were no injuries.The first suspect was described as being male, 17 - 20 years old, 5'3", wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, ball cap. The second suspect was described as being male, 17 - 20 years old , 5' 6", wearing a brown hooded sweater. The matter is presently under investigation.

almon street October 27, 2001 44649 - Police investigating a robbery at the Royal Bank ATM drive-thru on Almon Street at approximately 9:20 p.m. The male driver of the car at the ATM had his car entered by two suspects, one of whom was armed with a hand gun.

5555 almon street October 13, 2001 42502 - At approximately 7:21 p.m. a lone male entered the store at 5555 Almon Street armed with a handgun and relieved the clerk of a small amount of cash. No shots were fired and no one was injured. The suspect fled east on foot. The suspect is described as a white male, 5'9", red and brown hair, large black glasses, white bandana, white shirt and blue jeans.

ISLEVILLE st & almon st July 28, 2001 31011- There was a two-vehicle accident at Isleville St. and Almon St. One vehicle failed to stop at a STOP sign and struck the second vehicle travelling east on Almon St. A 31 year old male driver was issued a violation for failing to stop at a STOP sign. He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries and released. The lone female driver of the struck vehicle was uninjured. Police continue to investigate.

almon st June 8, 2001 23288- At 10:15PM an adult female was assaulted by another adult female , the area of Gottingen and Almon St. A small amount of cash was taken. The suspect was known to the victim. Minor injuries were reported.

almon st May 8, 2001 18374- At 8:30AM there was a second armed robbery at Slices Restaurant on Almon St. A lone male entered the store armed with a large knife and stole an undetermined amount of cash. The party is described as being 5'6", 150lbs, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and beige and grey pants. The suspect is believed to be , his early 20's. No one was injured , the robbery.
almon street March 22, 2001 11558 - At 10:15PM police responded to an industrial accident on Almon Street , Halifax. An adult male was transported to the QEII with non-life threatening injuries. The Department of Labor is investigating.
