prince albert road August 24, 2011 11-127939/127930 - Robbery - At approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to 21 Mic Mac Boulevard for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had grabbed a woman's cell phone and fled the area on foot along with two other males. The suspects fled towards Brookdale Cresent where they encountered another woman walking on the street. The same male punched the woman in the face and took her purse. Officers located the males near Prince Albert Road. A male youth was arrested without incident and will appear in court to face two counts of robbery.

300 prince albert road June 23, 2011 11-91657/11-91660 - Vehicle Fires - At 4:45 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth. Three vehicles were spotted on fire in two separate locations. HRM Fire Services attended the scene and quickly extinguished the fires. This matter remains under investigation and deemed to be suspicious.

OCHTERLONEY street & prince albert road April 17, 2011 11-54464 - Robbery - Approximately 1:00 a.m., a 21-year-old female walking in the area of Prince Albert Road and Ochterloney Street in Dartmouth, was approached by a group of youth. Two females from the group asked her for cigarettes and as the victim was taking a cigarette out of her hand bag, the females began assaulting her, throwing her to the ground and removing all the cigarettes from her bag. The victim got up and ran home to call police. Halifax Regional Police responded to the area and arrested the two suspects. A 15-year-old female and a 16-year-old female were arrested and will attend court at a later date to face charges of robbery.

313 prince albert road February 13, 2011 11-22870 - Robbery - Approximately 12:30 a.m., police responded to a robbery that just occurred at the Mic Mac Hotel, 313 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth. It was learned two white males wearing bandanas and green hoodies reached into the cash till and took an undisclosed amount of cash and sprayed the clerk with a sensory irritant. He was treated and released on scene by EHS and did not suffer any serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation

prince albert road & SINCLAIR Street November 19, 2010 10-177015 - Motor Vehicle Fatality - At 12:58 a.m., police responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle accident on Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth. A vehicle travelling on Prince Albert Road lost control and struck a power pole near Sinclair Street. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Accident Investigation Section is investigating the incident. The identity of the driver is being withheld until next of kin are notified. Prince Albert Road between Hawthorne and Sinclair Streets was closed until approximately 7 a.m.

ALBERT street & devonshire avenue October 3, 2010 10-149365 - Robbery - At 1:42 a.m., a taxi driver reported that three male passengers exited his cab in the area of Devonshire Avenue and Albert Street in Halifax,and refused to pay the fare. The males then threatened the cab driver and demanded money. The suspects fled the area when another cab arrived on scene. The suspects were described as an Asian male and two black males, all wearing black clothing. The matter remains under investigation.

PINE street & prince albert road August 12, 2009 09-118833 - Assault - At 10:46 p.m. police responded to a report of an injured party at the intersection of Pine Street and Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers learned that two men, who were known to each other, had participated in a consensual fight. The 44-year-old victim was transported to the Dartmouth General with a serious head injury and subsequently transported to the QE II with life threatening injuries. A 20-year-old man is in custody facing charges of aggravated assault.

February 5, 2009 09-17693 - Bear Spray - At 2:32 p.m. the police were called to Prince Albert School in Dartmouth in response to a complaint of several students being bear sprayed. The suspect in this matter was last seen leaving the school. At this time, it is believed that the suspect is known to the victims. Police are still seeking the suspect.

369 prince albert road October 7, 2008 08-149896 - Robbery - At 5:43 p.m. a man was in the parking lot of the Superstore at 369 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects took the victim's cell phone and then demanded his Ipod, stating he would cause bodily harm to the victim if the Ipod was not turned over. The first suspect was described as a black man, 18-19-years-old, 5'11" tall, 175 lbs., with short curly hair and wearing a black hoodie and sweat pants. The second suspect was described as a white male youth, 16-17-years-old, 5'9" tall, 140 lbs., wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. The matter remains under investigation.

September 13, 2008 08-136952 - Robbery - At 7:53 p.m. a 17-year-old female was walking past Prince Albert Junior High in Dartmouth when another female approached her and demanded that the victim turn over her purse or she would be assaulted. The victim complied. This is not a random act as the suspect is known to the victim.

albert street July 22, 2007 07-108098 - Robbery - At 2:15 a.m., a man was approached by three men on Albert Street in Dartmouth. The victim was hit on the head and relieved of his wallet. The suspects are described as three white males, 18-20-years-old, one of whom was wearing a red top.The victim suffered a small bump to his head and was treated at the scene by EHS but did not require further hospital treatment.

prince albert road & PORTLAND Street June 27, 2007 07-93269 - Sexual Assault - At 11:19 p.m. a women had her rear end grabbed by a man while she was using the ATM at the Royal Bank on Portland Street in Dartmouth. The suspect was described as a black man, 25-years-old, 5'7", wearing a blue ball cap, red sweater and baggy pants. The suspect remained on scene as the victim called police from her cell phone and was arrested when officers arrived. The suspect is in custody and will be arraigned in Dartmouth court on Friday,
GO - #07-92111 - Fire - At 2:30 a.m. a dumpster was lit on fire near the Mic Mac Canoe club on Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth. Three smaller fires in garbage cans were also lit in the area. Two male suspects were arrested a short distance away. They were interviewed and released pending further investigation. No major damage or injuries were sustained.

GO - #07-92121 - Weapons - At 3:15 a.m. police responded to a report of a male and female arguing and possible shots fired in the 1200 block of Queen Street in Halifax. Upon arrival a firearm was located and a male arrested. The scene is being held and the investigation continues.

UPDATE - June 28th - As a result of the joint investigation conducted by the Integrated General Investigative Section and the Drug Unit, a 22-year-old Dartmouth man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today charged with a number of weapons related offences. A 33-year-old Halifax man is also scheduled to appear today, charged with three counts of breaching a court order, and he will appear at a later date to answer to a charge of Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Also scheduled to appear at a later date charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking are a 19-year-old Halifax woman, a 21-year-old Halifax woman, a 36-year-old Dartmouth woman and a 40-year-old Halifax man. The 21-year-old woman will also face weapons related charges when she appears.

March 9, 2007 07-33707 Robbery - At 4:09 p.m. two males, one armed with a firearm, entered the Needs Convenience Store on Prince Albert Road and obtained cash and cigarettes. The suspects are described as one white male, 5'9", 20-30 years of age, wearing a red jacket, and a black male, 5'7". No one was injured in this incident.

albert street January 23, 2007 07-10959 Attempted Robbery At 2:30 p.m. an Albert Street resident answered a knock on her door and discovered no one was there. At the same time a window was knocked out of the back of the residence. Police arrived a short time later and arrested an adult male on scene.

prince albert road December 19, 2006 06-172204 Robbery 9:45 p.m. A male youth was walking at the end of Prince Albert Road where the pedway crosses Highway 111 (Dartmouth) when he was approached by a group of 6-7 older males who initially asked him if he had any money. He said no and one of the males punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, and then took his MP3 player from him. The males were all described as black, about 18-years-old. The suspect who punched the victim was about 6' tall, medium build, with some hair on his chin.

prince albert road & HARRIS Road August 30, 2006 06-115502 Sexual Assault 1:15 p.m. An adult female was walking on Prince Albert Road near the intersection with Harris Road (Dartmouth) when a male approached her, made lewd comments towards her, and groped her buttocks and breasts. The woman struck the man with her purse and he walked away. The man was described as white, 55-60 years-old, about 5'10 with a thin build and wavy grey hair. He wore bluejeans and a grey shirt.

291 prince albert road August 19, 2006 06-109375 Robbery 8:57 a.m. Ultramar Station, 291 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth. A male entered the business and produced a knife, demanding cash from the clerk. He fled after being given an amount of money and cigarettes. He is described as a white male, 6' tall with a slender build, wearing a black pull over, dark knee length shorts, white sneakers, and a two-toned ball cap with a symbol on the front.

prince albert road August 7, 2006 06-103347 Disturbance
11p.m. Prince Albert Road area, Dartmouth. After the fire works , Dartmouth a large group of teens became unruly. This group were throwing rocks at vehicles, police and tents , the area of Lake Banook . The youths began to run from the area into surrounding streets and properties. Some were running over parked vehicles and attempting to do damage as they ran from the area. Police arrested 9 youth for breach of the peace and the youth were taken to cells where their parents were contacted to come and get them.

291 prince albert road July 17, 2006 06-91101 Robbery 7:20 p.m. Ultramar, 291 Prince Albert Road, Dartmouth. A male entered the station and produced a handgun, demanding cigarettes and cash from the clerk. He was given an amount of both and fled to a waiting vehicle. At 11 p.m. an 18-year-old suspect was arrested , Waverley and will appear , court tomorrow facing robbery charges.

PLEASANT street & prince albert road July 16, 2006 06-91168 Vehicle and Pedestrian Collision 10 p.m. Prince Albert Road at Pleasant Street, Dartmouth. A male was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the street , a crosswalk. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The 50-year-old female driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian , a crosswalk.

ALBERT street & devonshire avenue June 10, 2006 06-70173 Motor Vehicle Crash At approximately 1:50 p.m. police units responded to an single vehicle crash on Devonshire Avenue and Albert Street involving a tractor trailer. It appears the vehicle and trailer flipped while negotiating through traffic. Devonshire Avenue was partially closed for several hours while the necessary equipment was brought , to right the vehicle. The two occupants of the truck received non-life threatening injuries and the matter remains under investigation.

May 20, 2006 06-59789 Assault and Robbery 4:10 a.m. Main Street, Dartmouth. The caller and female were driving along Prince Albert Road and onto Main Street. They state a black Chrysler Pacifico began to tailgate them. The caller mouthed words at the occupants of the Pacifico and the Chrysler then cut them off , the 100 block of Main Street. All parties exited their vehicles. The caller was assaulted and hit , the head with an object. His rear window was smashed out of his vehicle and the female's purse and vehicle keys were taken. The caller received a cut to his head and EHS attended. The suspects could only be described as four black males , their twenties, each about 5'8 and a black female about 20 years old, about 5'3.

albert street February 26, 2006 06-22968 Break & Enter and Arrest 3:30 a.m. Albert Street, Halifax. An elderly resident awoke to find two persons , her home. The individuals fled and police were contacted. Officers enroute observed two persons matching the description of the suspects and after a short foot pursuit the pair were arrested. They were , possession of goods from the home and will be facing break and enter charges.

prince albert road November 15, 2005 96460-Robbery-At 12:05 a.m. three males entered the Needs Convenience Store on Prince Albert Road. One of the males produced a handgun and demanded cash. The suspects fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The first suspect was described as a white male 16 to 19 years old, 5' 6" wearing a black hoodie, baggy jean shorts and white sneakers. The second suspect is described as a white male, 16-19 years old, 5'11", wearing a grey jacket with blue sleeves, baggy blue jeans and white sneakers. The third suspect is described as a white male , his late teens, wearing a white jacket with blue body and red stripes, baggy blue jeans and white sneakers.
The matter is under investigation by our General Investigation Section.

300 prince albert road September 25, 2005 72882-Robbery- At 6 a.m. a lone male entered a Convenience Store , the 300 block of Prince Albert Road and threatened the clerk with a screw driver. The suspect fled , an older model sedan, blue , color. This matter is still under investigation.

April 29, 2005 17126- At 7:13 p.m. police responded to Albert Street near Richmond Street , relation to a motorcycle accident. The motorcycle appeared to have struck a curb and then a light standard. No other vehicles were involved. The male rider , his early 30's was pronounced dead at the scene. An Accident Reconstruction Analyst was called to the scene to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

BRAEMAR drive & prince albert road April 14, 2005 14810- At 10:15 p.m. two young males were walking , the area of Braemar Drive and Prince Albert Road when they were approached by two males and a female. One of the males was carrying a crowbar and demanded money and personal effects from the victims. Police arrested the suspects a short distance from the scene and 2 youths will be held for court on April 15. No one was injured , this incident.

300 prince albert road March 13, 2005 9969- Robbery , the 300 Block of Prince Albert Road. At 10:45 p.m. a lone male entered a Prince Albert Road business and and demanded money. No weapon was seen and no one was injured , this incident. Suspect was last seen running from the building. Suspect is described as a male, 18 - 19 years old, tall, thin, wearing dark jacket, and baggy blue jeans.

prince albert road December 19, 2004 57340 Robbery, Needs Convenience, Prince Albert Road - At 4:00 a.m. two suspects entered the store and forced the clerk into the back room. No weapon was seen. The suspects then took a quantity of cigarettes and cash and left. The victim described one of the suspects as a white male 20-25 yrs old, thin moustache, wearing a grey hoody.

November 8, 2003 48106 Armed robbery. At approx' 11:00 p.m. two males entered the Showtime Video and Variety on Windsor St , Halifax. One male produced a knife and a gun was mentioned however not seen. Suspects demanded cigarettes. The male clerk was assaulted during the incident and suffered a bump to his head. He was treated at the scene. Both males fled, one on foot and the other , a red car. A short time later a red car matching the description was spotted on Prince Albert Rd , Dartmouth. Police units attempted a traffic stop and the car fled which resulted , a pursuit. The car was finally stopped on the 111 hwy and a 27 yr old male was taken into custody. This male will appear , court , the morning charged with armed robbery, assault police and flee police. Police are still looking for the second male who is described as being , his late teens, 5' 7"' 130 -140 lbs, wearing a white t shirt, baggy blue jeans and a 3/4 length black jacket.

303 prince albert rd October 4, 2002 40328 - At 6:45 am there was a robbery at the Needs Convenience 303 Prince Albert Rd. A lone white male, approx 25 yrs, 5'9", with blonde hair entered the store and stole an undisclosed quantity of cash. No weapon was seen and the clerk was not injured.
April 9, 2002 14232 - Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Celtic and Prince Albert Streets at 5:05 p.m. The accident resulted , minor injuries.

prince albert rd June 18, 2001 24677- At 3:05AM there was a robbery at the Green Gables on Prince Albert Rd.A suspect entered the store armed with a knife and stole a quanity of cash. The suspect cut the phone cord before fleeing the area. Suspect is described as a white male, short, heavy set,wearing a blue hat, jacket and pants. Police continue to investigate.

prince albert rd May 20, 2001 20365- Police are investigating a robbery that occureed at Carroll's Ultramar on Prince Albert Rd. at 6:10PM . A lone male entered the gas station and pointed a hand gun at the staff member. The suspect made off with a quantity of cash and fled the area. Suspect is described as 6'tall, medium build, wearing plain black baggy sweatshirt, baseball cap, sunglasses and a bandana covering his face. The clerk was shaken but did not suffer any injuries. Police continue to investigate.

February 20, 2001 7417 - Officers were involved , a short chase around 7:30 p.m. , the Prince Albert Road area of Dartmouth. The suspect vehicle was driving erratically before the chase ensued. The suspect lost control of the car and drove into a snow bank near Jackson Road and Pinecrest. Two males were arrested and the driver faces various charges, as well as having outstanding warrants. There were no serious injuries or damage to the cars involved.

prince albert road January 3, 2001 0405 - Police are investigating an apparent home invasion which took place around 9:45 p.m. at a Prince Albert Road residence , Dartmouth. Three males armed with knives entered the home. They demanded cash. A male resident received cuts to his hand. The suspects left with a small amount of cash and some property. The suspects had their faces covered.
prince albert road November 29, 2000 48271 - At 7:37PM police responded to an armed robbery at a gas station on Prince Albert Road. An amount of money was stolen. No injuries occurred during the incident. Police continue to investigate.
prince albert road November 25, 2000 47566 - At 3:15AM police responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store on Prince Albert Road. No money was taken and no one was injured during the incident. Police continue to investigate.
prince albert road July 30, 2000 29480 - Just after midnight, police were called to the Best Western on Prince Albert Road , Dartmouth after it was robbed by a lone gunman. During the incident, several shots were fired, but they are thought to be blanks. There were not physical injuries, and the suspect got away , a waiting vehicle. The suspect is described as 5'8" - 5'10", slim build, wire rim glasses, a blue scarf pulled over his face and a cream coloured fishing hat on his head.
prince albert road July 11, 2000 26808 - Members of the HRP Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a Prince Albert Road address , Dartmouth today. An indoor grow operation, with about 35 marijuana plants was seized. Street value of the grow is valued at $19,600. Two adult males have been charged and will appear , court , August.
