burnside drive & akerley boulevard November 28, 2007 07-180381 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - Burnside Dr / Akerley Blvd. At 10:03 a.m., a two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Burnside Drive and Akerley Boulevard in Dartmouth. The occupants of the vehicles were treated at the hospital for non life threatening injuries.


November 7, 2007 07-170066 - Injury Accident - A two vehicle accident occurred near the intersection of Windmill Road and Akerley Boulevard in Dartmouth. One driver was transported to the Dartmouth General with non life threatening injuries.


October 19, 2007 159034 - Injury Motor Vehicle Accident - At 10:50 a.m., a two vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Akerley Boulevard and Windmill Road in Dartmouth when a vehicle hit the rear of the vehicle in front of it. Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

100 akerley boulevard July 13, 2007 07-102578 - Gas Leak - At 7:48 p.m., Police assisted Fire Services by shutting down streets and evacuating several businesses after a natural gas leak occurred in the 100 block of Akerley Boulevard in Dartmouth. The area was closed to traffic until 10:30 p.m.

October 2, 2006 06-132805 Recovered Stolen Vehicle and Arrests 12:30 a.m. An HRP K-9 Officer observed a stolen Plymouth Acclaim travelling on Akerley Blvd. in Burnside. By the time the officer was able to turn around and locate the vehicle it was abandoned in a nearby parking lot. With the assistance of his K-9 partner and other members who responded, the officer was able to arrest two adult males who had fled from the vehicle and were hiding nearby. A 19-year-old and a 40-year-old will appear in court at a later date to face charges in relation to Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

September 26, 2006 06-130622 Theft of Vehicle and Arrests At 10:30 p.m. HRP members observed a vehicle being operated on Akerley Boulevard that had been reported stolen earlier in the evening from Wyse Road (Dartmouth). The vehicle was pulled over on Ilsley Avenue and it's four occupants arrested. The four youths, ranging in age from 14-17, will appear in court at a later date charged with theft of the vehicle.


April 22, 2006 06-46788 Motor Vehicle Collision 3:30 p.m. Akerley Boulivard near Joe Zatsman, Dartmouth. A two car collision occurred. One of the vehicles flipped multiple times after impact. Its four occupants were transported to hospital for observation. Their injuries were not life threatening. The 18-year-old male driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for Careless and Imprudent Driving. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.

akerley boulevard January 13, 2006 4937-Motor Vehicle Crash-At 2:10 p.m. on Forest Hills Parkway near Akerley Boulevard a tanker truck overturned and spilled some of it's load of used cooking oil. Traffic had to be diverted to avoid the slippery situation and The Department of Transportation was onscene assisting Halifax Reional Police. No one was injured but traffic was disrupted for hours while the road surface was treated and the vehicle righted.

akerley & windmill road October 29, 2005 05-89264 - Motor Vehicle Collision - Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Windmill Road and Akerley Bvld. One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

akerley boulevard September 4, 2005 63480- Motor Vehicle Crash At 9:45 p.m. police responded to a single vehicle crash on Akerley Boulevard close to the 107 Highway Bypass. A lone male driver lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, coming to rest , a ditch. He was transported to the Dartmouth General Hospital for treatment of undetermined injuries which are thought to be non-life threatening. The incident is under investigation.

July 4, 2000 25750 - Police responded to an industrial accident around 2:45 on Akerley Blvd. , Dartmouth. A man received a cut to his arm from a piece of pipe. The Dept. of Labour is investigating.
