September 6, 2010 | 10-134645 - Attempted Robbery and Assault with a Weapon - At 9:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery and assault with a weapon on Davison Street in Halifax. A man and woman walking in the area were approached by a group of youths and asked if they had a light for a cigarette. One male and two females from the group assaulted the man with a weapon, striking him in the face and causing a cut to his hand. The attackers went through the victim's pockets and then fled the area, running from West Street to the Agricola Street area. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. September 6, 2009 | 09-132888/132889/132916 - Hit and Run Accidents - At 2:24 p.m., the driver of a Red SUV ran into the rear of a vehicle causing that vehicle to strike the vehicle in front of it. The suspect vehicle then backed up and drove around the accident scene, heading south on Gottingen Street and then west on Bloomfield Street. Near the intersection of Bloomfield and Agricola Streets, the suspect vehicle struck the rear end of another vehicle, causing the vehicle to strike the vehicle in front of it. The suspect vehicle then hit the side of a building. The suspect vehicle then went south on Agricola street and at the intersection it struck a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. The driver of the suspect vehicle then exited the SUV and ran from the scene on foot. There were no injuries in this incident, however extensive damage was caused. The matter remains under investigation. |

February 6, 2009 | 09-18910 - Robbery - At 8:10 p.m. a 23-year-old man was walking in the area of Charles and Agricola Streets, Halifax, when he was approached by two males who demanded his personal property. The victim was assaulted and some items were turned over. The victim then ran away and called police. The injuries to the victim are non life threatening. A search of the area did not turn up the suspects. One suspect was described as a black man in his twenties, 6' tall and wearing a black puffy jacket. The second suspect was described as a man of undetermined ethnicity, in his twenties, 5'8" tall, and wearing a light coloured jacket. The matter remains under investigation. |

The woman reported that she had been roughed up by two females who threatened her and tried to steal her money and a bag she was carrying. She struggled with the suspect but fortunately was not injured. The suspects were described as two black females, 16-18-years-old, one of whom was wearing a beige top. November 10, 2007 | 07-172040 - Robbery - At approximately 3:20 p.m., three men entered Books Are Us on Almond Street in Halifax, indicated they had a weapon, and demanded money. They left the store with an undetermined amount of cash and fled on foot. No one was injured and no weapon was seen during the incident. The matter remains under investigation. Update About an hour after the incident a 16-year-old male matching the description of one of the suspects was arrested while walking on Agricola Street. As result of further investigation, 19-year-old Anthony Charles Johnson, of Halifax, was arrested last evening at a Jarvis Lane residence and a 16-year-old male was arrested at 3 this morning in Lower Sackville. | |

January 26, 2007 | 12648 Robbery Three males entered Toulaney’s Store on Agricola Street at 8:15 p.m. and threatened an employee with a knife. A struggle broke out between the clerk and one of the suspects, resulting in the victim sustaining a minor knife wound to one of his hands. The suspects left empty handed and were described as black males, 18-20 years old. One was 6’ tall, thin build, wearing a black jacket and pants and the other was 5’7”, skinny build, wearing a dark jacket or sweater with a grey hood and a red bandana. December 24, 2006 | 06-173831 Injury Accident A 55-year-old man, who is legally blind and was accompanied by a seeing eye dog, was knocked to the ground when a vehicle struck him while he was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk in the 3000 block of Agricola Street in Halifax at 12:04 p.m. He sustained non life threatening injuries to his lower limbs, was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene and cleared medically. He eventually walked away on his own after the investigation was completed. The driver of the vehicle involved has been served a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian within a crosswalk. |

September 16, 2006 | 06-124740 Weapons Related Incident and Arrests At 4 p.m. the Uptown Beat Patrol members attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Agricola and West Streets (Halifax). One of the members observed what appeared to be a handgun in the possession of one of the vehicles occupants, and the vehicle fled. A short pursuit ensued involving another police unit and the suspect vehicle entered a fenced area. It's two occupants jumped from the vehicle and ran, with one of them dropping a flare gun to the ground. Both men were quickly apprehended and will face charges stemming from this incident. | |

Upon police arrival the youths had fled (north on Agricola Street towards Charles). The area was checked however the suspects could not be located. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The only available description of the suspects is that they were black males between 14-16 years-of-age, and some of them wore black basketball shorts, white shirts, and black doo-rags. |

December 1, 2005 | 104335-Robbery-At 11:00 p.m. a man was walking on Agricola Street when he was approached by a group of 8-10 male youth aged 16-18 years. Two of these youth approached the victim and demanded money from him. The victim refused to give them any and kept walking. He was then struck , the head by a beer bottle. The same two youth approached him again and demanded money. At this time the rest of the group grabbed the two suspects and pulled them away telling the victim they had been drinking. The victim then left the scene and went to the QE2 and was treated for a cut to his head. The incident is still under investigation. |

March 18, 2004 | 11623 Robbery at Agricola St. near Almon St. at 2000 hours. A 58-year-old male met a female at this location and returned to an address on Agricola St. Once inside this apartment, the male was robbed of his car keys by 4 males who were inside this apartment and indicated they had a gun, however, none was seen. The 4 male suspects took the victim out to his car and they all drove to a nearby ATM on Almon St. near Agricola St. At this time the victim went to the ATM and retrieved a quantity of cash, which was handed over to the suspects. The suspects then drove the victim to the area of Northend Pub and let him out, unharmed. The suspects then left with the victim's 91 Dodge Spirit. The matter is still under investigation. |

February 15, 2004 | 6754 Armed robbery occurred at 4:30AM on North St near Agricola Street. The male victim was walking on North St when he was assaulted and robbed by two suspects. The suspects were armed with a knife. The victim was taken to hospital with a cut on one of his legs. Police were on scene within seconds, and after a short foot chase, apprehended two suspects. Charges are pending at this time. The victim's injuries are not life threatening. |

September 11, 2003 | 38601 Robbery reported to police at 9:57 pm from the area of the Sobeys on Windsor St. A male victim complained that after purchasing liquor from the Agricola St liquor store , he was confronted by a male , the area of Windsor and North Sts. He was threatened with what appears to have been a sharp pronged garden tool . He turned over his liquor, a lighter and $10.00 cash . The suspect then fled . The victim was not injured . The suspect is described as a male between 25-30 yrs old , about 6' tall and skinny , with a goatee. He was wearing a black track suit. A male was arrested a short time after the call and officers found evidence connecting him to the crime. As a result the 29 yr old Halifax resident will face charges of robbery and possession of a weapon. He is currently , our cells and will later be transferred to the correctional center and will remain there until Monday when he will be arraigned , Halifax Provincial Court. | |

November 23, 2001 | 48439 - An Olands Breweries employee was taken to the QEII after he lost a finger , a bottle washing auger at the Bbrewery on Agricola Street at 9:49 a.m. Call 176 - Members of the local postal union protested at Purdy's Wharf to show support for the members of their organization who have been suspended from duty. There numbers totaled between 50-70. All were peaceful and dispersed on their own shortly after police arrival. |

A male victim was kicked and punched by three male suspects. All three suspects are approximately 5'10"-6' tall. Two of the suspects wore baggy pants. The suspects took the victims money and ran towards the area of North Park Street and Agricola Street. |

The male suspect is known to police. No weapon was used but the victim was badly shaken. The suspect is described as , his early 40's, 5'10" tall, 150lbs, goatee, black hair with a goatee.
