west street & AGRICOLA Street September 6, 2010 10-134645 - Attempted Robbery and Assault with a Weapon - At 9:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery and assault with a weapon on Davison Street in Halifax. A man and woman walking in the area were approached by a group of youths and asked if they had a light for a cigarette. One male and two females from the group assaulted the man with a weapon, striking him in the face and causing a cut to his hand. The attackers went through the victim's pockets and then fled the area, running from West Street to the Agricola Street area. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At this time, information received indicates that the perpetrators may be the same group involved in a robbery earlier in the evening (
100 kennedy drive August 27, 2010 10-128483 - Weapons - At 4:20 p.m., police responded a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth. It appears that two males shot at one another. Both parties left the area prior to police arrival and were not located. The suspects were described as two black males, one wearing a white zippered hoodie. No further information is available at this time.


6000 chebucto road August 22, 2010 10-125438 - Break and Enter - At approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a break and enter in-progress in the 6000 block of Chebucto Road, Halifax. The street was blocked and the residence was cleared for suspects. A suspect was apprehended a short distance away at a corner store. A taser and items from the break and enter including laptop computers and a cell phone were recovered. Two other suspects are being sought. Both are described as black males. A man is expected to face charges of break and enter, using a disguise in the commission of an offence, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.


andover street August 20, 2010 10-124011 - Weapons Call - At 1:50 a.m., two people standing outside a residence on Andover Street in Dartmouth having a cigarette. A silver vehicle stopped and the passenger produced an automatic pellet gun and fired numerous shots at a vehicle parked in the driveway, damaging the driver's side rear window. No further information was obtained and the matter is still being investigated.


August 18, 2010 10-123161 - Robbery - At 7:50 p.m.,
three occupants of a vehicle parked in a lot near Jackson and Victoria Roads in Dartmouth were approached by two suspects on foot displaying knives. One of the suspects was observed to have a hand gun tucked in the waist of his pants. The suspects robbed one of the occupants of a small quantity of cash and slashed the tires of the vehicle before leaving the area on foot. The victims were not injured during the incident and were uncooperative with police in relation to providing statements. The first suspect was described as a white man, 19-20-year-old, with a freckled complexion and shaved red hair, and wearing a blue mesh jersey with red numbers and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as a white man, 19-20-year-old, with shaved dark hair, and wearing a light blue dress shirt with a white tank-top underneath and blue jeans. The matter remains under investigation.


rosedale drive & WYSE Road August 17, 2010 10-122567 - Robbery - At 9:40 p.m., a man working in the 200 block of Wyse Road in Dartmouth was robbed at gun point by three men. The victim was relieved of a quantity of cash but was not injured during the incident. The three suspects fled on foot towards Rosedale Drive. The gun was described as a black handgun. The first suspect was described as a black man, 18-23-years-old, long nose, 6' tall, wide shoulders, wearing a grey hoodie, jogging pants and black basketball sneakers. The second suspect was described as a white man, 18-23-years-old, 5'11" tall, lean build, bushy eyebrows, wearing a black hoodie and pants. The third suspect was described as a black man, 18-23-years-old, 5'5" tall with a stocky build. The matter remains under investigation.


August 15, 2010 10-120444 - Sexual Assault - At 6:15 p.m., police responded to sexual assault complaint. A 37-year-old man stated he was hitchhiking in Dartmouth and was picked up by a man in a red or green Toyota, either a Tercel or Corolla. The suspect pulled a handgun on him and took him to a wooded location in the south end of Halifax where the suspect sexually assaulted him. The suspect was described as an Arabic and Middle Eastern man, late 40's, 6' tall, 180-200 lbs., with black hair, a mustache and scruffy facial hair. The suspect removed a black crew-neck golfing style windbreaker and underneath he wore a long sleeved t-shirt with a grey body and black sleeves. The suspect was also wearing dark pants. The matter remains under investigation.


rufus avenue August 14, 2010 10-120860 - Shooting - At 11:26 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Rufus Avenue in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 45-year-old man and three other adults were inside an apartment when three males forced entry demanding cash. Two of the suspects were armed with firearms and a third with a bat. Several shots were fired by the suspects and the 45-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. The suspects fled the building and were believed to have gotten into a waiting vehicle on Rufus Avenue. The first suspect was described as a white male, 6' tall, with a red scarf around his face, and wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. The second suspect was described as white male with red hair, and wearing dark clothes including a hoodie. The third suspect was described as a white male. The victim was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. This incident is not believed to be random. The matter remains under investigation by the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section.


25 nantucket avenue August 5, 2010 10-114590 - Aggravated Assault - At 8 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of 25 Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth, involving three males. One male produced a knife and attacked another male in a dispute over money. The 20-year-male victim was stabbed in the chest and arm and was transported to the QE2 Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old Cole Harbour male faces charges of aggravated assault, threats and weapons offenses and a 20-year-old Dartmouth male face charges of theft and accessory. Both were held for court in the morning.


August 4, 2010 10-114560 - Assault and Weapon Charges - At 7:08 p.m. police responded to a complaint involving a weapon. Police attended the QE2 hospital and located a 19-year-old male victim who had been stabbed with a knife and was being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The location where the incident occurred is unknown at this time.


cogswell st July 27, 2010 10-109190 - Police Officer assaulted-
5816 Cogswell St. (The Pavilion), Halifax

At 1:03 p.m. an HRP officer responded to a man causing a disturbance at this location. When he attempted to arrest the man he became combative and attempted to assault the officer with a skateboard. No injuries resulted. The 24 year-old man was released on a Promise to Appear in court at a later date charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, assaulting police, resisting arrest and causing a disturbance.

old sambro rd & HORIZON Court July 26, 2010 10-109274 - Pursuit - Grover Dr/ Old Sambro Rd., Halifax

At 3:43 p.m. an HRP West Division patrol unit observed two dirt bikes being operated dangerously. A traffic stop was initiated but the bikers fled resulting in a brief pursuit which was terminated. The bikers fled into the woods and the operators have yet to be identified. This matter remains under investigation.


GO 10-109373 - Robbery- At approximately 710 pm a 17 year-old youth visiting from Ontario was walking down Heron Walk in the Uniacke Square area of Halifax. He was approached by two males who grabbed him by the arm and searched his pockets. The suspects took a quantity of cash and the youth's IPOD and fled the area. The male victim was not injured in the incident.

The suspects are described as two black males, both about 5'8-5'10, in their early twenties, both wearing black T-shirts,both of the males had "chin strap" facial hair, one had black jeans with yellow and orange/bright coloured embroidery on the back pockets, and the other male was wearing black shorts.

GO 10-109538 -Drugs and Weapons Charges-At approximately 1:45 a.m. police responded to a call of suspicious activity in the wooded area between Mic Mac Boulevard and Horizon Court in Dartmouth. The citizen who contacted police stated he observed two persons with flash lights in the woods, near the Kent Building Supplies Store. The two males when they observed police approach,fledon foot, a foot pursuit started and the suspects began discarding items as they fled.Police seized these items and apprehended the suspects on Horizon Court. the items seized were a quantity of estacy pills, and powdered cocaine. Also found was a loaded hand gun. No one was injured in this incident.

A 25 year-old male from Dartmouth and a 24 year-old male from Beaverbank are facing drug and weapons related offences. They are both being held in custody to attend Nova Scotia Provincial Court in Dartmouth on
3129 kempt road July 25, 2010 10-108820 - Robbery - At 8:42 pm HRP responded to Dooly's at 3129 Kempt Road Halifax regarding a disturbance. It was learned two males were involved and one of them had pulled a knife on another patron looking for money. Both suspect males fled the area on foot and were located by police nearby and taken into custody. A knife was seized from one the males. A 24-year-old Dartmouth man will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court to face weapons and a robbery charge.


The Black Eyed Peas concert was uneventful apart from the vehicle vs pedestrian traffic concerns the crowd created immediately after the concert. The four intersections around the commons were shut down which allowed the crowd to disperse quickly. After the concert the downtown was extremely busy and the crowds simply overwhelmed the sidewalks in many places around the bars and Pizza Corner. Units from East and West Divisions helped create a police presence and the crowd was found to be largely peaceful but many among them were intoxicated.

conner lane July 16, 2010 10-103029 - Shots fired - At 12:57 a.m., police responded to a residence on Conner Lane in Halifax, a male in his mid twenties had been inside a residence when he was shot in the leg. The male suspects fled the area on foot, one male was described as a light skinned black male, 6'tall, 25-years-old, wearing a black hat with a black hoodie. The second suspect was described as a male wearing glasses. The victim was transported to the QEII Hospital where he was treated and released. The weapon was not recovered. The General Investigation Section and the Forensic Unit attended the scene and the file remains under investigation.




1000 south park street July 15, 2010 10-102133 - Weapons - At 7 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 1000 block of South Park Street in Halifax. A man standing outside of a business was approached by two males. One of the males stabbed the victim in the leg. The victim ran into a store, followed by one of the males who continued to punch him. The male then fled the scene. The victim attended the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. A knife was seized at the scene by responding officers. The matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section.


titus street July 12, 2010 10-100046 - Weapons - At approximately 12:25 a.m., police responded to a weapons call on Titus Street in Halifax. A man was pointing a gun at a woman's head. The female victim and the male suspect were known to one another. A 45-year-old man will face a number of weapons related charges.


1000 tower road July 11, 2010 10-100495 - Robbery - At 10:00 p.m., police responded to a robbery which occurred in the 1000 block of Tower Road in Halifax, involving two women who were known to one another and have been involved in an on-going dispute. The 21-year-old woman was walking on Tower Road at 10 p.m. when she was approached by the 18-year-old suspect who subsequently pushed the victim to the ground and assaulted her with a piece of wood. The suspect was apprehended on Tower Road shortly after the incident, and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today charged with one count of robbery with violence, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault.


primrose street July 8, 2010 10-98252 - Attempt Murder - At 7:16 p.m., police responded to a weapons call at a residence on Primrose Street in Dartmouth. A woman in her mid twenties had her throat cut by a man who was known to her. The suspect fled the residence prior to police arrival. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non life threatening injuries. Investigation by Quick Response Unit and Patrol led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man who is currently in police custody. This matter remains under investigation.


July 4, 2010 10-96464 - Hit and Run and Weapons Charges - At 7:40 p.m., in the area of 15 Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. A Honda struck a parked vehicle and male driver switched places with his female passenger and fled the scene. The accident was observed by an off duty Halifax Regional Police Officer who followed the suspect vehicle. Police witnessed an item being thrown from the suspect vehicle on Woodland Avenue. Upon searching the area, a loaded 25 caliber handgun was located. Marked patrol units responded and located the suspect vehicle in the Albro Lake Road area and after a short vehicle pursuit on a dead end street, the male and female occupants were taken into custody. The 24-year-female faces driving and weapons charges. The 25-year-old male faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident, weapons charges and charges for breaching his court orders. Both will appear in Dartmouth Court later today.




ALEX street & central avenue July 3, 2010 10-94061 - Robbery - At 6 p.m., three youths playing in the area of Alex Street and Central Avenue in Halifax were approached by three teens, one known to them. The familiar teen demanded a piece of property belonging to one of the youths and when he refused, the teen pointed a handgun (possibly a BB gun) at the youth and slashed his wrist with a knife causing a small superficial wound. Responding officers took a male youth into custody a short distance away. The accused will appear in court at a later date to face charges of robbery and assault with a weapon.


rocky lake drive June 20, 2010 10-87944 - Graffiti and Drugs/Weapons - At 2:50 a.m., officers observed four youths putting graffiti on machinery in the Bedford Lions Park. All four were arrested. Two of the youths were in possession of marijuana. One youth was in possession of a prohibited weapon. Further investigation determined that two of the youths were responsible for the graffiti at the Lions Park and also for another address on Rocky Lake Drive. Two youths, 17 and 15-years-old, face charges of property damage and possession of narcotics. A 16-year-old youth faces weapons charges. All three youths are being held for court later today. The fourth youth was released without any charges.



rolieka drive June 20, 2010 10-87598 - Weapons - At 10:30 a.m., police responded a report of shots fired into a residence on Rolieka Drive in Dartmouth. The occupants discovered several bullet holes in the front window of their home. The occupants had been home but did not hear the shots. No one was injured during the incident. Responding officers located several shell casings on the road. Information from witnesses suggests the shots occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. A vehicle described as a late model dark gray Saturn with tinted back windows and gray primer on the rear quarter panel was seen in the area at the time. Police are interested this vehicle and urge anyone with information to contact Halifax Regional Police at 490-5020, or to contact police anonymously through Crime Stoppers (490-8477).


7000 leppert street June 15, 2010 10-85487 - Robbery - At approximately 8:50 p.m., a youth was robbed at gun point while visiting a resident of a building in the 7000 block of Leppert Street in Halifax. The suspect fled on foot after taking a quantity of cash from the victim. The victim did not know the suspect. The suspect was described as a black male in his 30s, dark complexion, heavy build, wearing black pants, grey hoodie, and a light coloured doo-rag. The victim was not injured during the incident.


brunswick street June 5, 2010 10-78588 - Drugs and Weapons - Central Quick Response units observed five people acting suspiciously around a vehicle on Brunswick Street near Ocean Towers just after 8 p.m. The plain clothes units approached the vehicle as the five were entering the car. A strong smell of marijuana was detected and a subsequent search turned up a sizable quantity of marijuana as well as a loaded handgun. A 21-year-old man will appear in court on Monday charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of a firearm with ammunition. The four others, 3 men - 20, 21 and 25-years-old, and a 20-year-old woman, will also appear in court on Monday charged with possession of a firearm with ammunition.


south park street June 3, 2010 10-77444 - Weapons and Drug Charges - At 8:45 p.m., officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit stopped a woman on South Park Street in Halifax, after receiving information that she was selling drugs. The accused was found to be in possession of cocaine and a tazer. The 23-year-old Halifax woman will face weapons related charges and trafficking.


main street May 26, 2010 10-74369 - Motor Vehicle Accident and Shots Fired - At approximately 9 p.m, two vehicles were travelling inbound on Main Street in the area of Forest Hills Parkway. A Nissan Sentra with two occupants, pulled up beside a Cadillac with one occupant. One of the suspects in the Sentra began shooting at the Cadillac. Both vehicles made u-turns, with the Sentra pursuing the Cadillac. An East Quick Response Unit in the area at the time observed the Sentra run a red light and attempted to stop the vehicle. The Nissan turned onto Forest Hills Parkway at a high rate of speed and rear ended a vehicle. Both suspects attempted to flee the vehicle on foot but were quickly apprehended by police. The Cadillac was later located in North Preston and seized by police for further examination. Four bullet holes were found in the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle has not yet been located but it is believed he was not injured in the incident. The 19-year-old male driver of the Sentra faces charges of failing to stop at an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm and breaching a court order. The 17-year-old male passenger of the Sentra faces charges of pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm, and breaching a court order.


3400 barrington street May 24, 2010 10-73156 - Weapons - At 6:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Barrington Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 16-year-old female victim in a vehicle suffering from what appeared to be a single gun shoot wound to her leg. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. Individuals on scene were detained and questioned by police. Witness stated that the shooting was accidental but this has yet to be determined as the investigation is still in the initial stages. Detectives have yet to speak to the victim. The matter remains under investigation.


GREEN road & nova court May 20, 2010 10-71110 - Weapons - At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers arrested a man after witnessing a drug transaction in the area of Green Road and Nova Court in Dartmouth. While searching the man, officers recovered a fully functional Taser. The man will be charged with three weapons related offences as well as possession of drugs.



300 herring cove road May 17, 2010 10-69653 -Weapons - At 2:50 a.m., a patrol officer spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area of 300 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. A traffic stop was initiated and no plate was visible. Police observed a taser cell phone within reach of the driver and discovered bear spray inside the vehicle.

A 19-year-old male driver from Beaver Bank, was charged with two counts of Possession of a prohibited weapon and held for court.




caxton close May 12, 2010 10-66924 - Break and Enter - At 9:45 p.m., police responded to an address on Caxton Close in Halifax. Two masked males entered the apartment through an unlocked door. One male had a handgun, three occupants were in the apartment at the time. One man was struck behind the ear with the handgun and suffered minor injuries. The males fled on foot out the back door, nothing was taken. K9 tracked with negative results. This does not appear to be a random act. This matter is being investigated by HRP Identification Unit and the General Investigation Section.






118 wyse road May 8, 2010 10-64681 - Shoplifter - At 2:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a male shoplifter fighting with the security guards at the Save Easy grocery store, 118 Wyse Road in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers learned that security guard had attempted to arrest a man for stealing. The suspect began to resist arrest, indicated he had a gun and was going to shoot the security guards. He fled the store before police arrival. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a black man, 27-32-years-old, dressed all in black, wearing a black ball cap and black backpack. The matter remains under investigation.


60 tacoma drive May 8, 2010 10-64306 - Assault with a Weapon - At 5:25 p.m., three male youths known to one another became involved in an altercation in the area of 60 Tacoma Drive, Dartmouth. One of the males produced a knife and swung it at one of the other males. A security guard became involved and held the male wielding the knife on the ground until police arrived. No one was injured during the incident. A 14-year-old male was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and uttering threats.


40 alderney drive May 7, 2010 10-64381 - Assault with a Weapon - At 9:15 p.m., police attended 40 Alderney Drive in Dartmouth, where a 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon after spraying a canister of bear spray at two young females. The girls were not seriously injured. The parties were known to one another.


morris & queen streets May 6, 2010 10-63883 Assault with a Weapon - At 9:40 p.m., two men unknown to each other were involved in an altercation at the corner of Morris and Queen Streets in Halifax, when an intoxicated man pulled a knife on another man. A struggle ensued and eventually the man wielding the knife was subdued with the help of a bystander. Police arrived and arrested the man with the knife, who was charged with with assault with a weapon. No one was injured during the altercation.


1100 south park street May 3, 2010 10-61777 - Break and Enter and Robbery/Weapons - Shortly before 2 a.m, a man entered a basement apartment in the 1100 block of South Park Street after breaking the lock on the door. He grabbed a large knife from the counter and began swinging it at three male residents who were inside the apartment. They ran to the bathroom, locked the door, and called 911. The man left the apartment before police arrived, taking several items of food with him. The victims were not physically injured during the incident. The suspect was arrested at the corner of Grafton Street and Blowers Street at 2:30 a.m., without incident and the stolen property was recovered. A 55-year-old man will appear in court charged with break and enter, robbery, and weapons offences.


6000 cedar street April 27, 2010 10-59112/10-59136 - Drugs and Weapons - At approximately 7:10 p.m., police received a call regarding two men in a truck following a taxi containing a man and woman. Information was obtained that the men intended to harm the taxi passenger. The truck was stopped on Quinpool Road in Halifax, and the two men were arrested. Furtther investigation led to a residence in the 6000 block of Cedar Street in Halifax being searched by members of the Integrated Drug Section and Quick Response Unit. A quantity of drugs and cash were seized, and two firearms and ammunition were located. A 30-year-old man will appear in court to face numerous drug and weapons charges.


stoneybrook court April 25, 2010 10-57789 - Weapons and Drugs - At 1:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Stoneybrook Court in Halifax. Shotgun shells were observed inside the vehicle and one male was arrested for outstanding criminal charges. Police observed another occupant inside the vehicle attempt to hide a firearm. The occupants and the vehicle were searched with a sawed off shotgun, quantity of marijuana, cash and scales being recovered. One man, two women and a male youth are facing weapons and drug charges. The investigation is ongoing at this time.


herring cove road April 25, 2010 10-58100 - Weapons - At approximately 1 a.m., three people were travelling in their vehicle on Herring Cove Road in Halifax and observed a light coloured SUV following them. The victims pulled over to the side of the road and then turned around heading back towards the Armdale Rotary. Shortly thereafter, they heard something hit the vehicle and were unsure what it was. Upon examining the vehicle at home, they observed several holes in the vehicle. The incident was reported to police on April 27th. Officers examined the vehicle and observed what they believed to be bullet holes. The vehicle was taken to Halifax Regional Police Headquarters for further examination. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Police are interested in talking to the occupants of the SUV in relation to this incident. churchill court April 21, 2010 10-55855 - Weapon - At 8:30 p.m., Police Quick Response Unit and East Patrol members recovered and arrested, a 16-year-old male on Churchill Court in Dartmouth, for possession of a sawed off shot gun. He was taken into custody without incident and will appear in court later today to face a number of firearms related charges.





12 rosedale drive April 19, 2010 10-54563 - Robbery - At 1:19 p.m., police responded to a 911 call at the Enviro Depot, 12 Rosedale Drive in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, it was learned that a male entered the business waving a hand gun and demanding cash. The suspect pushed a staff member pointing the gun at the employee, demanding he open the cash till or he would shoot. The suspect fled on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in this incident. Patrol Officers and Detectives attended the scene and are continuing with the investigation. The suspect was described as white male, 5'6" tall, with a husky build, and wearing a white hoddie and a Halloween style mask.


barrington street & HAMILTON Lane April 18, 2010 10-53440 - Weapons - At 12:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a male being sprayed in the face by pepper spray in the 2500 block of Hamilton Lane, Halifax. The 18-year-old vicitm would not provide any details on his assailants. He was located running out into traffic on Barrington Street, and was treated by Emergency Health Service and released.


everette street April 16, 2010 10-53300 - Assault and Weapons Just before 9 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at an address on Everette Street in Dartmouth. The 29-year-old male homeowner was assaulted by a suspect who punched him and pulled out a knife when the homeowner prevented him from entering his residence. The suspect then fled the area. This is not believed to be a random act as police believe the parties are associated with one another. The suspect was described as an aboriginal man, 19-20-years-old, short brown crew cut and a mustache, slim build, 5'10' tall, wearing a white shirt and black pants.


100 main street April 14, 2010 10-51474 - Weapns and Breach of Conditions - At approximately 10:55 a.m., officers observed three men inside a business in the 100 block of Main Street in Dartmouth, on an undertaking not to have contact with one another and known to carry firearms in the past.

Police entered the business and placed two of the men under arrest, the third man ran out the rear door and subsequently disposed of a firearm.

The K-9 Unit arrested him and patrol officers recovered a handgun. A 16-year-old male inside the business at the time of the arrests failed to comply with officers commands and was arrested at the scene.

The investigation is on-going and charges are forthcoming.


park April 14, 2010 10-51789 - Weapons - At 11:20 p.m., East Quick Response and Patrol members stopped a vehicle in Highfield Park in Dartmouth. The three occupants of the vehicle were searched and a 20-year-old male passenger was found to be in possession of a sawed off shotgun and ammunition. He was taken into custody without incident and held for court, facing a variety of weapons related charges.


harris drive April 14, 2010 10-52285 - Shots Fired - At 10:40 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired at an address on Stuart Harris Drive in Dartmouth. A bullet penetrated the home but no one inside was injured. Evidence was gathered near the residence by Forensic Identification Section members. A short time later, a man in his twenties showed up at the Dartmouth General Hospital with a gun shot wound to the back. Officers from the General Investigation Section spoke to the victim at the hospital and he is co-operating with police. This is not believed to be a random act. The victim was released with minor injuries and the investigation continues.


1100 queen street April 13, 2010 10-51350 - Weapons - At approximately 1 a.m., police responded to a report of a man being shot in the 1100 block of Queen Street in Halifax. The 35-year-old man had been in his home when two males wearing masks forced their way into the residence and confronted him. The victim was shot in the leg and the suspects fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. A K-9 unit searched the area but did not locate the suspects. At this point, investigators do not believe this was a random act. A large quantity of marijuana was located at the scene and members of the Drug Section are currently assisting the General Investigation Section with this investigation.


April 13, 2010 10-51795 - Shooting - At 11:45 p.m., Police were called to the Dartmouth General Hospital in report of a 22-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot. The victim was uncooperative with police and would not provide any details about the incident. At this time, it is non known where the incident may have taken place. The General Investigation Section is investigating the shooting.






north street & CREIGHTON Street April 5, 2010 10-47181/10-47204 - Drugs and Weapons - At approximately 10:25 p.m., patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of North Street near Creighton Street in Halifax. Officers noted a smell of marihuana from the vehicle and as a result seized a quantity of cash, marihuana, scales and other paraphernalia. A canister of bear spray was also seized. Three youth were arrested, two males are being held for court to face various drug, weapons and breach charges, and a female was released to attend court at a later date.
