33 herring cove road December 6, 2011 11-186012 - Robbery - At 7:43 p.m., police responded to the Needs Convenience Store, 33 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. A male entered the store, produced a hand gun and demanded the clerk to give him all the cash. The clerk complied and the male left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and fled the area. K-9 unit was called and the area was checked but the suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as a white male, 18-20-years-old, 57 tall, 150 lbs, wearing a black jacket with a hood, a black and white bandana around his neck, black pants and white sneakers. This matter remains under investigation.

194 chain lake drive November 22, 2011 11-178659/178679 - Robbery - At 4:54 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at Bouclair Home, 194 Chain Lake Drive in Halifax. An employee stated that a man entered the store, produced an imitation gun and demanded cash. The suspect fled the store when the employee refused to give him money. The suspect was described as a black man, 5'7", stocky build, wearing dark clothing with a black ski mask pulled over his face.

At 5:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission Store, 6990 Mumford Road in Halifax. A cashier stated that a man approached her and demanded cash from her register. The cashier observed what she believed to be a handgun in the man's possession. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect description was similar to the first robbery.

The incidents remain under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section.


219 pleasant street November 19, 2011 11-176171 - Robbery - At 12:05 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Ultramar Service Station, 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. The store clerk reported that two males entered the store, one armed with a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. They received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspects were described as two males wearing dark puffy jackets with the hoods up covering their faces. Members of HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section are investigating the incident.


202 brownlow avenue November 16, 2011 11-175489 - Robbery - At approximately 6:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a robberty at Pets Unlimited, 202 Brownlow Avenue in Dartmouth. A man armed with a hand gun entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect received a small amount of cash from the register and fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a dark complected male, approximately 5'9", average build, wearing a black and gray zipped up hoodie, with his face covered by a camouflage mask. The Halifax Regional Police Integrated GIS section are investigating the incident.


cavendish road November 15, 2011 11-174243 - Weapons - During the overnight hours on November 14, gun shots were heard in the area of Cavendish Road in Halifax. On November 15, a citizen walking in the area observed a bullet on the roadway and called police. Upon arrival, officers observed a residence with several bullet holes. The resident was home during the night but did not hear anything and it appears that no one was injured during the incident. The Integrated General Investigative Section is currently investigating this incident.


roleika drive November 15, 2011 11-175030 - Weapons - At 10:10 p.m., police responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of Roleika Drive in Dartmouth. The area was checked but officers weren't able to locate any evidence of shots being fired. A few hours later, a residence in the 100 block of Roleika Drive was confirmed to have bullet holes in a window. Several people were in the residence at the time of the shooting but no one was injured. This does not appear to be a random act.


50 tacoma drive November 14, 2011 11-173943 - Robbery - At 6:10 p.m., east patrol officers responded to a robbery in progress at the Jungle Pets Store, 50 Tacoma Drive in Dartmouth. A male entered the store and pointed a black handgun at one employee demanding cash, while the second male is believed to have been waiting outside. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a light skinned black male; 20-30 years-old, 54 tall, average build. The suspect had a camouflage mask covering his face, with a green and black hoodie, dark blue track pants with dark green wool gloves. The second suspect was a white male, tall and thin wearing a dark hoodie. The male outside entered a light blue or silver S.U.V. and fled the scene. A second employee was at the rear of the store during the robbery. No one was injured during the incident. This matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigative section.



100 portland street November 11, 2011 11-173097 - Robbery - At approximately 11:20 p.m, police responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth. A man reported that he was approached by a man who wielded a knife and demanded the gaming system he was carrying in his bag. When the victim refused, a struggle ensued and the suspect fled the area empty handed. The victim was not injured during this incident. Police responded quickly and located the suspect on Victoria Road. The 22-year-old man was arrested and held for court to face robbery and weapons related charges.


5675 spring garden road October 26, 2011 11-164447 - Weapons - Approximately 8:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a call of a person armed with a handgun. Police responded to the McDonalds Restaurant, 5675 Spring Garden Road in Halifax and arrested a male suspect in possession of a realistic pellet handgun. A call was reported earlier regarding a dispute between several parties and a witness observed the male suspect displaying a firearm during the altercation and followed the suspect to McDonalds.

A 21-year-old male faces several weapons related charges and was released from police custody with a court date. No one was injured during incident.




330 lacewood drive October 18, 2011 11-159816 - Weapons - At approximately 2:36 p.m., police responded to a weapons call in the area of the Keshen Goodman Public Library, 330 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that two male youths and a female youth, who were walking on a path near the library, were approached by two male suspects who demanded the victims' belongings. One of the suspects sprayed the victims with a sensory irritant and then both fled the area. The victims went to the library to call for help. The victims were treated at the scene by EHS. The area was checked but the suspects couldn't be located.


6300 quinpool road October 14, 2011 11-157837 - Weapons - At 11:02 p.m., a man reported to police that he became involved in a verbal dispute with several other men while in a parking lot in the 6300 block of Quinpool Road in Halifax. One of men pulled out what was believed to be a gun and pointed it at the victim. The suspect then fled on foot and the rest of the group fled in a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped a short distance away and five males were taken into custody. A search of the area located a can of sensory irritant. An 18-year-old man was charged with weapons offenses and will appear in court at a later date. The other men were released from police custody.


rolekia drive October 14, 2011 11-157303 - Weapons - At 6:50 p.m., police received reports of shots being fired in the area of Rolekia Drive in Dartmouth. While on scene, police located a parked vehicle which had bullet holes in the driver's side. The only description of the suspect vehicle was that it was a red car. Members of the Integrated General Investigative Section and the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene and the matter remains under investigation. No injures were reported.


duke street October 13, 2011 11-156729 - Assault - At 4:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Albermarble Drive near Duke Street in Halifax. A dispute between a Metro Transit driver and motorist had occurred. Upon arrival, it was learned the motorist exited his vehicle and boarded the bus trying to strike the driver. The driver exited the bus and the male followed him striking him in the chest and threatening him. A citizen attempted to stop the male suspect by standing in front of his car. The male put the car in gear and struck the citizen knocking him to the ground. A 41-year-old male was charged and will appear in court to face several charges included uttering threats, assault and assault with a weapon.



100 old sambro road October 12, 2011 11-156883 - Weapons - At 11:08 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road in Halifax. Several people in the residence were fighting and one had been injured. Officers arrived and learned a male had been stabbed and was transported to the QE2 Health Science with non life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. Officers located the male a short distance away. The 28-year-old male suspect was arrested and held for court to face several charges including assault with a weapon and assault causing.

A third person has been arrested in connection with this robbery. A 15-year-old male youth was arrested last night without incident and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court at a later date to face a charge of robbery.

October 9, 2011 11-154609 - Assault with a Weapon - At 7:15 p.m., police responded to a call of a disturbance on a Metro Transit bus in Dartmouth Crossing. At this time, it appears that two groups were engaged in a disturbance prior to boarding the bus. The disturbance continued on the bus, resulting in a 35-year-old man being assaulted by two male youths. The man sustained a cut to his face and was treated at the scene by EHS. A knife was recovered at the scene. Two male youths were arrested and will appear in court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon, theft and breaching a court order.


SUSSEX drive & herring cove road October 9, 2011 11-154640 - Assault with a Weapon - At approximately 8:10 p.m., two 15-year-old males were walking on a trail in the area of Herring Cove Road and Sussex Drive in Halifax when an unknown person approached them and sprayed them with a sensory irritant. The two youths ran to a local restaurant and police and EHS were called. The youth were treated and released at the scene. No suspect descriptions were given.


stone avenue October 9, 2011 11-154677 - Assault with a Weapon - At 9:25 p.m., a taxi driver was dispatched to pick up a fare on Stone Avenue in Dartmouth. As he was parked on the street, two males approached his vehicle from the rear, one armed with a long wooden pole. The suspect struck the vehicle with the pole, smashing the driver's side window. He then attempted to strike the driver but the pole broke. The driver was able to grab a piece of the pole and fend off the two suspects, who fled the area on foot. The 45-year-old taxi driver of sustained minor injuries. The first suspect was described as a white male, 17 to 20-year-old, 6'1", medium build but not muscular, thin chin strap style facial hair, light coloured medium length hair, and a round face. He was wearing a bright blue t-shirt with no designs or writings and long baggy jean shorts that were below his knees. The second suspect was described as a white male, very tall and skinny. He was wearing dark pants and a white hoodie covered in small black crosses, with the hood up. His face was covered with a dark colored bandana and he was wearing sun glasses.


walter havill drive October 8, 2011 11-154731 - Robbery - Shortly after 10 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a residence on Walter Havill Drive in Halifax. Four men were inside of a residence when two men entered and showed the victims what was believed to be a handgun. The suspects then took a television from the victims. No one was injured during the incident. This was not a random act as the victims knew one of the suspects. The matter remains under investigation.

Update -
drive rolekia & caledonia road October 4, 2011 11-152430 - Weapons - At 8:57 p.m., police responded to a report of a gun shot in the area of Caledonia Road and Rolekia Drive in Dartmouth. Responding officers eventually located a spent shotgun casing in a parking lot of a vacant apartment building on Rolekia Drive. A dark coloured vehicle seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed couldn't be located. Police eventually located another vehicle which had been struck by the shot. No one was injured and the matter remains under investigation.


81 lakecrest drive October 3, 2011 11-151825 - Shooting - At 5:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a man who had been shot in the stairwell of an apartment building at 81 Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth. The 20-year-old man was taken to the QE2 Health Science Centre with non life threatening injuries. A K-9 Unit attended and checked the area with patrol members but the suspect could not be located. Members from the General Investigation Section along with Forensic Identification are continuing the investigation.


1300 south park street October 1, 2011 11-150084 - Assault With a Weapon - At 3 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in the 1300 block of South Park Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that a fight had broken out between two males and one male pulled out a knife and stabbed the other several times in the leg. The suspect then fled the apartment before officers arrived. The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. The suspect was not located. The suspect and victim were not known to each other but this isn't believed to be a random incident.

0-100 kennedy drive September 26, 2011 11-147456/147486/14797 - Weapons - At 8:10 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers learned a 13-year-old youth had been shot at with a pellet gun. Although the victim was not struck by the pellets, he tripped while running away receiving minor abrasions. There was no description of the suspect and the matter remains under investigation.

At 9:15 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Roleika Drive in Dartmouth. It was reported that someone in the parking lot was shooting a pellet gun at the side of the building. Upon arrival, officers weren't able to locate any suspects but heard a pellet gun being discharged from a distance. The building was not damaged. No suspect description was available.

At 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Booth Street in Dartmouth. It was reported someone was shooting a pellet gun at a residence. The complainant only heard the shots but did not observe any suspects. Police observed a window with a small hole in it.

It is believed the above three incidents involve the same suspect(s), unfortunately no suspect description was available.


0-100 renfrew street September 25, 2011 11-147494 - Weapons - At 9:28 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Renfrew Street in Dartmouth. It was reported someone was shooting a pellet gun at street signs. Four men were questioned at the scene, however, there was insufficient evidence for charges.


2863 oxford street September 21, 2011 11-145094 - Robbery - At 8:40 p.m., two suspects entered Ardmore Grocery, 2863 Oxford Street in Halifax and demanded cash. One suspect was armed with a knife and the other with a hand gun. A small amount of cash was obtained from the clerk and the two suspects fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. A number of police units responded quickly and two male youths were arrested a short distance from the convenience store. A pellet gun was recovered from one of the youths. Both were arrested and held for court to face robbery and weapons related charges.


victoria road September 18, 2011 11-142797 - Robbery - At approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Petro Canada on Victoria Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the business, stated he had a gun although none was seen and demanded money. The suspect fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white man in his forties, 5'5", with grey hair and goatee. This matter remains under investigation.


victoria road & WINDMILL Road September 18, 2011 11-142906 - Robbery - At 8:45 p.m., police responded to the One Stop Shop, 269 Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the business, indicated he had a weapon and demanded cash. He fled the store with a small amount of cash. The store clerk was not injured during the incident. The suspect description matched a robbery committed early at the Petro Canada Station on Victoria Road (
connaught avenue & WINDSOR Street September 18, 2011 11-142872 - Robbery - At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at Rush Hour Pizza, 3646 Windsor Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that two white man entered the store, one carrying a knife and the other with a hand gun. Both demanded cash and cigarettes. A small quantity of each was taken. The suspects fled the scene and were last seen running down Connaught Avenue onto Chisholm Avenue. The clerks were not injured during the incident. The suspects were described as two white man, between 18 to 19-years-old. One witness reported that they may have been two black males with light complexions. The suspects were wearing black hoodies with dark undershirts and light coloured pants, and covered their faces with black scarfs. The matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigative Unit.


regal road September 17, 2011 11-42964/142911/14291266 - Shooting and Weapons/Druggs - At 9 p.m., police responded a report of shots fired in the area of Collins Grove and Regal Road in Dartmouth. It was reported that a male had been shot in the back and was seen running towards Regal Road. A suspect, only described as a younger male, was seen running towards a waiting black SUV, possibly a Ford Escape, that was observed leaving Collins Grove and heading towards the Cole Harbor area. The victim of the shooting was located on Regal Road suffering from a non life threatening gunshot wound. A duffle bag containing a loaded handgun and a large quantity of what is believed to be crack cocaine was located near the victim. During the course of the investigation, the victim was arrested for firearms related offences and possession for the purpose of trafficking. The victim and accused, a 23-year-old Dartmouth man, was treated for his injury at the QE II hospital and did not cooperate with investigators. He faces the following charges: possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession, possession of prohibited and restricted firearm with ammunition, and possession of a firearm without a license or registration certificate. There is no further information at this time on the driver or passenger of the suspect vehicle. This matter remains under investigation.


agricola & west streets September 17, 2011 11-142292 - Weapons - At approximately 7:55 p.m., police responded to a report of a male youth carrying a partially concealed knife in the area of Agricola and West Streets in Halifax. When officers approached the suspect, he dropped the knife. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.


2 ochterloney drive September 13, 2011 11-139738/139748 - Robberies - At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission, 2 Ochterloney Drive in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, approached the clerk and demanded cash. The suspect had his hand in his pocket indicating he had a weapon although none was seen. When the clerk refused to give the suspect any cash, the man grabbed a quantity of liquor and fled the store. The suspect jumped into a red vehicle driven by a second male. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as white man, 25 to 30-years-old, 62", with dark hair, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and with a blue shirt covering his face. The vehicle was described as a red Pontiac. The driver of the vehicle was described as a black man. There were several other men in the vehicle but no descriptions were obtained.


At 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Quick Way Store, 25 Crystal Drive in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, told the clerk to get on the ground and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect had his hands in his pocket indicating he had a weapon although none was seen. The suspect was described as wearing a red t-shirt with a blue shirt around his face. The suspect didn't get any money from the store and no one was injured during the incident. Officers arrived on scene quickly and observed a red Pontiac vehicle with several men inside in front of the store. As the officers approached, all of the men fled on foot. Numerous officer and K-9 units attended the area to search for the suspects. Eventually, four men were taken into custody. They are believed to be responsible for both robberies. This matter remains under investigation and specific charges haven't yet been determined.


1000 barrington street September 13, 2011 11-139742 - Assault With a Weapon - At 3:20 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Barrington Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that two men were involved in a dispute and one of the men pulled a knife on the other. The victim sustained a minor cut to his arm. A man was arrested a short distance away and taken into police custody. This matter remains under investigation and charges haven't yet been determined.


m September 12, 2011 11-139949 - Robbery - A 15-year-old male victim called police after he had arrived home to report that his his cell phone and ball hat were stolen. The victim and his friends were at the Mumford Transit Terminal between 5:30-6:30 p.m. when they were approach by two males who demanded his cell phone and ball hat. One of the suspects showed him a hand gun located in his waist band under his shirt. No one was injured during the incident. The suspects were described as three black males, 17 to 19-years-old, all with black hair. Two of the suspects were described as 5'2" and skinny. The suspect with the handgun was described as approximately 6', with an athletic build and wearing a black or blue sweater. The matter remains under investigation.


September 11, 2011 11-138834 - Weapons - Approximately 10:55 p.m., police conducted a traffice stop in the 0-100 block in Dartmouth. A short time later in the same area, it was reported, a window of a house was shot out. Several units responded as well as K9. A track was started and members located and seized a firearm in one of the many paths in the area. Two males from the original traffic stop were taken into custody and the vehicle was seized. Two additional males were taken into custody close to the area. Members of the General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification section attended the scene. Three adult males and one young offender were questioned in relation to the incident.


400 purcells cove road September 8, 2011 11-137658 - Weapons - At 11:49 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 400 Block of Purcell's Cove Road in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a rifle in the area which was pointed out by the residence. The adult male inside was not cooperative and would not exit the building. HRP Emergency Response Members attended the scene and early this morning, a male and an adult female exited the building without incident. Both have been questioned regarding this incident and released from police custody. This matter is currenlty under investigation and does not appear to be a random act, parties involved are known to each other.





6 primrose street September 6, 2011 11-135642 - Robbery - Approximately 7:30 p.m., a male entered the Sobeys Store, 6 Primrose Street in Dartmouth. He approached the cashier and demanded money from the till, indicating he had a weapon in his pocket, although none was seen. The clerk opened the till, and the male reached over and grabbed a quantity of bills and fled the store. The clerk was not injured during the incident. Upon police viewing the video, they were able to identify the male suspect. A 55-year-old man was arrested a short time later and held for court, facing charges of robbery and violating his court orders.




0-100 victoria road September 5, 2011 11-135454 - Assault with a Weapon - At 11:15 a.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Victoria Road in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, the officers located a young male who had been sprayed with a sensory irritant. The victim and his attacker were known to each other. The matter remains under investigation but charges are expected.


divas lane August 27, 2011 11-130469 - Assault - At 9:50 p.m., Central officers responded to the 5000 block of Divas Lane, Halifax for a weapons call. A woman reported that a man who had been hit with a shovel was lying on the ground. Responding officers located a 39-year-old man suffering from injuries to his head. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. The suspects were described as two black males. The first suspect was described as being dark complected, over 6', with a large build. The second suspect was described as dark complected, with a smaller build and shorter than the first suspect. There were no witnesses to the incident. This matter remains under investigation.


1700 barrington street August 25, 2011 11-128263 - Assault with a Weapon - Shortly after midnight, police responded to a complaint of an assault with a weapon in the 1700 block of Barrington Street. The five victims were walking in the area when a vehicle described as a white or silver-colored SUV style vehicle approached the group. A party within the vehicle produced a large cannister and sprayed a noxious substance at the victims. All parties were treated by EHS and released at the scene.


0-100 arklow drive August 23, 2011 11-127616 - Search Warrant Execution - At approximately 2:20 a.m., members of the Halifax Regional Police Firearms Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant in the 0-100 block of Arklow Drive in Cole Harbour. A loaded firearm, quantity of ammunition, cash, drug paraphernalia, a quantity of cocaine and unknown pills were recovered at the scene. A man and woman were arrested and held for court facing numerous weapons and drug charges.


main avenue August 19, 2011 11-124497 - Traffic Stop and Weapon Recovered - At 6:30 p.m. patrol officers and members of the Quick Response Unit, completed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the area of Main Avenue in Halifax. A loaded handgun was located inside the vehicle. Two 21-year-old men were arrested at the scene without incident.

A Dartmouth man was held for court to face seven counts of breach of a recognizance and the following charges:
- failing to attend court
- 88(1)Possession of a Weapons Dangerous to the Public
- 88(2)Unsafe Storage of a Weapon
- 92(1)Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
- 94 Unauthorized Possession in a Vehicle
- 95 Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- 96 Possession of a Weapon Obtained by a Criminal Offence.

A 21 year old Halifax male is also being held for morning court facing the following charges:
- 88(1) Possession of a Weapons Dangerous
- 88(2) Unsafe Storage
- 92(1) Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is unauthorized
- 94 Unauthorized Possession in a Vehicle
- 95 Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- 96 Possession of a Weapon Obtained by a Criminal Offence


pleasant street & NEWCASTLE Streets August 18, 2011 11-124043 - Robbery - At 1:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Parker and Newcastle Streets in Halifax. A 22-year-old man and a 18-year-old woman were approached by two male suspects who demanded cash. One of the suspects produced what was believed to be a handgun. The victims stated that they didn't have any cash and the suspects fled the area. East Patrol Officers located the two suspects a few minutes later walking along Pleasant Street. A 16-year-old Dartmouth male was arrested and found to be in possession of a BB gun, which looked similar to a real gun. He was held for court and faces robbery, possession of weapons dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm and using a imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence. A 20-year-old Dartmouth male was also arrested and held for court to face one count of robbery and three counts of breach of a recognizance.


100 pinecrest drive August 17, 2011 11-123910 - Drug Search and Weapon Recovered - At 3:45 a.m., members of the Firearms Enforcement Unit, assisted by patrol officers and members of the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. A 46-year-old Dartmouth man and a 25-year-old Dartmouth woman were arrested at the scene. Officers recovered a rifle inside the residence. Charges are expected to be laid for numerous weapon related offences.


0-100 lakecrest drive August 17, 2011 11-124668/124679/124701 - Drug and Weapons Charges - At 11:30 p.m., patrol officers stopped a vehicle in the 0-100 block of Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth in connection with an impaired driving complaint. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and a subsequent search resulted in a quantity of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia being seized. Officers recognized one of the passengers as being on a curfew. He was arrested and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. Investigators are currently attempting to trace the origin of the gun. A third man was also arrested but later released without charges.

Twenty-year-old Anthony Fraser of Dartmouth faces charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having a blood alcohol level in excess of the legal limit.

Twenty-year-old Kartel Brandon Lee Pye faces four counts of breaching his conditions as well as the following weapons related charges:
S. 86(1) CC - Careless Handling and Transportation of a Firearm
S. 86(2) CC - Unsafe Storage Contrary to Regulations
S. 88 CC - Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
S. 90 CC - Carrying a Concealed Weapon
S. 92(1) CC - Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized
S. 94 CC - Unauthorized Possession in a Motor Vehicle
S. 95 CC - Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
S. 96 CC - Possession of a Weapon Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
S. 108 CC - Tampering with a Serial Number
S. 117.01(1) CC - Possession of Weapons Contrary to a Prohibition Order

Both men were scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.


argyle street August 15, 2011 11-122882 - Assault with a Weapon - At 3:50 a.m., police responded to a report of men fighting in the area of Blowers and Argyle Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men who were suffering from injuries - a 22-year-old man had a sprained ankle and a 20-year-old man had a slash wound to his abdomen believed to be caused by a knife. Both were taken to the QEII Hospital. Another three male victims were located at the scene. These three had witnessed the initial incident and attempted to intervene. One of the suspects produced a knife, uttered threats and assaulted two of the men. A 22-year-old Herring Cove man and a 25-year-old Fall River man were arrested at the scene. The 25-year-old, faces several charges including assault with a weapon x 3, assault x 3, uttering death threats x 3 and numerous breachs of court orders. He will appear in Halifax Provincial court later this afternoon. This incident is being investigated by the General Investigative Section. Additional charges may be laid.


lower water street August 11, 2011 11-121013 - Stabbing - At 8:07 p.m., police responded to a report of an altercation between several young people at the Ferry Terminal in Halifax. EHS attended and transported a 14-year-old male to the IWK Hospital for a non life threatening stab wound to his side. A second male attended the QEII Hospital with a non life threatending stab wound to his leg. A male youth was stopped and arrested on Lower Water Street, and two female youths were located in the area and detained. All parties were released from police custody. A weapon was located in the vicinity of the stabbing. A 14-year-old male youth was charged with possession of a weapon and released to attend youth court on September 15, 2011. The matter remains under investigation by the Integrated General Investigation Unit.


7015 bayers road August 9, 2011 11-119863 - Robbery - At 8:30 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the Petro Canada, 7015 Bayers Road in Halifax. It was reported a male entered the store, produced a hand gun and demanded all the cash. The clerk complied and the male fled on foot. A K-9 Unit attended but could not locate the suspect. The suspect was described as a white male, 52-5'4" tall, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, white sneakers with a white scarf covering his face. No one was injured during the incident and the file remains under investigation.





500 portland street July 29, 2011 11-112588 - Possession of a Weapon - Approximately 12:38 a.m., the Quick Response Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth. As a result, a quantity of drugs were seized. The search also resulted in the seizure of one handgun. An adult male was arrested and held for court to face numerous drugs and weapon charges.



100 pinecrest drive July 28, 2011 11-112607 - Possession of a Weapon -
Halifax Regional Police executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. As a result of this search, a knife and a handgun were seized. Four adult males, one adult female and one young offender male were all arrested and held for court facing numerous weapons and firearms charges.








100 old sambro road July 23, 2011 11-110136 - Assault With A Weapon - At
11:30 p.m., West Patrol Officers responded to an unknown trouble complaint at the Clayton Park Shopping Plaza, 278 Lacewood Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle containing two female occupants had been followed by a vehicle containing four males not known to them. The females saw a group of taxi drivers parked at the Clayton Park Shopping Centre and requested their assistance. The taxi drivers confronted the males in the suspect vehicle and during this exchange a male taxi driver received a stab wound to his chest and was almost run over as the suspect vehicle fled the area. Another taxi driver became a victim as a second suspect picked up a piece of construction debris with the intention of striking him. The suspects fled this scene and were pursued by the taxi drivers to an address in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road. The taxi driver who had been stabbed was taken by ambulance to the hospital with what are believed at this time to be non life threatening injuries. Officers went to the Old Sambro Road and two men and two male youths were taken into custody. The suspect vehicle is also in police custody. The investigation is ongoing with members if the Integrated General Investigative Unit and Patrol officers interviewing witnesses, victims and the four suspects.

Update -
3600 windsor street July 19, 2011 11-107182 - Break and Enter - At 1:10 a.m., police responded to an apartment in the 3600 block of Windsor Street in Halifax. Two occupants were playing a video game inside the apartment when a male entered through an open patio door. The suspect was carrying a firearm but the occupants wrestled the gun from him and the male fled on foot. The suspect was described as a light skinned black male, 18-25-years-old, 6' tall, thin build, spoke with a deep voice. Wearing a light grey hooded sweat-shirt with elastic cuffs on the wrists with the hood pulled up over his head and the drawstring pulled tight, with black sweat pants or black baggy pants, and black shoes. The second male suspect was described as a white male, 6' tall, wearing a black sweater, dark sneakers, and dark pants. No one was injured and the matter remains under investigation.
