33 herring cove road December 6, 2011 11-186012 - Robbery - At 7:43 p.m., police responded to the Needs Convenience Store, 33 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. A male entered the store, produced a hand gun and demanded the clerk to give him all the cash. The clerk complied and the male left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and fled the area. K-9 unit was called and the area was checked but the suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as a white male, 18-20-years-old, 5’7” tall, 150 lbs, wearing a black jacket with a hood, a black and white bandana around his neck, black pants and white sneakers. This matter remains under investigation.

194 chain lake drive November 22, 2011 11-178659/178679 - Robbery - At 4:54 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at Bouclair Home, 194 Chain Lake Drive in Halifax. An employee stated that a man entered the store, produced an imitation gun and demanded cash. The suspect fled the store when the employee refused to give him money. The suspect was described as a black man, 5'7", stocky build, wearing dark clothing with a black ski mask pulled over his face.

At 5:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission Store, 6990 Mumford Road in Halifax. A cashier stated that a man approached her and demanded cash from her register. The cashier observed what she believed to be a handgun in the man's possession. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect description was similar to the first robbery.

The incidents remain under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section.


219 pleasant street November 19, 2011 11-176171 - Robbery - At 12:05 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Ultramar Service Station, 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. The store clerk reported that two males entered the store, one armed with a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. They received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspects were described as two males wearing dark puffy jackets with the hoods up covering their faces. Members of HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section are investigating the incident.


November 19, 2011 11-176564 - Robbery - At 7:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Tanjay and Alia clothing store, 90 Hector Gate in Dartmouth Crossing. Staff reported that a male entered the store, displayed a firearm and demanded money. The suspect fled the store after being given an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white male, 5'7"-5'9", medium build, dark hair, wearing a dark coloured zipped hoodie and a dark bandana over his face. The HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section is investigating the incident.


202 brownlow avenue November 16, 2011 11-175489 - Robbery - At approximately 6:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a robberty at Pets Unlimited, 202 Brownlow Avenue in Dartmouth. A man armed with a hand gun entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect received a small amount of cash from the register and fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a dark complected male, approximately 5'9", average build, wearing a black and gray zipped up hoodie, with his face covered by a camouflage mask. The Halifax Regional Police Integrated GIS section are investigating the incident.


park November 16, 2011 11-175583 - Robbery - At 10 p.m., two male youths were walking on a path that leads along the railroad tracks in Flinn Park in Halifax when they were approached by three males who engaged them in conversation. The three males threatened them and demanded their belongings. They then rifled through the victims' backpacks and stole a laptop, X-Box, phones and a wallet. The suspects are described as:
1 - white male, 17-23-years-old, average height, weight and build, and wearing a white or gray sweatshirt with the hood up.
2- white male, 17-23-years-old, average height, weight and build, and wearing a black hoodie with the hood up and baggy clothing.
3- white male of average height, weight and build and wearing a light coloured hoodie with the hood up and baggy clothing.


50 tacoma drive November 14, 2011 11-173943 - Robbery - At 6:10 p.m., east patrol officers responded to a robbery in progress at the Jungle Pets Store, 50 Tacoma Drive in Dartmouth. A male entered the store and pointed a black handgun at one employee demanding cash, while the second male is believed to have been waiting outside. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a light skinned black male; 20-30 years-old, 5’4” tall, average build. The suspect had a camouflage mask covering his face, with a green and black hoodie, dark blue track pants with dark green wool gloves. The second suspect was a white male, tall and thin wearing a dark hoodie. The male outside entered a light blue or silver S.U.V. and fled the scene. A second employee was at the rear of the store during the robbery. No one was injured during the incident. This matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigative section.



173 herring cove road November 14, 2011 11-174528 - Robbery - At 10:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Ultramar Gas Station, 173 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. An employee reported that three man entered the store and demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. One of the suspects threatened the clerk with a canister of a sensory irritant and forced her and another employee to leave the store. The three suspects fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspects were described as three man between the ages of 18 and 24, slim builds, wearing black hoodies and with masks covering their faces. The matter remains under investigation.


queen streets November 12, 2011 11-172640 - Robbery - At approximately 1:40 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of South and Queen Streets in Halifax. A man reported that he was approached by two suspects, one of who brandished a knife and demanded his wallet and cell phone. The two suspects were observed fleeing in a gray Sedan style Volvo. The victim was not injured during the incident. The first suspect was described as a black male wearing a football style jacket, black hat with a red trim and jeans. The second suspect was an Asian male, wearing a football style jacket, green hat with yellow trim and baggy pants. This incident remains under investigation.


100 portland street November 11, 2011 11-173097 - Robbery - At approximately 11:20 p.m, police responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth. A man reported that he was approached by a man who wielded a knife and demanded the gaming system he was carrying in his bag. When the victim refused, a struggle ensued and the suspect fled the area empty handed. The victim was not injured during this incident. Police responded quickly and located the suspect on Victoria Road. The 22-year-old man was arrested and held for court to face robbery and weapons related charges.


portland street October 23, 2011 11-162376 - Theft of Motor Vehicle - At approximately 10:45 p.m., police responded to a call from a witness observing three youths attempting to steal a vehicle from a parking lot on Portland Street in Dartmouth. Officers attended the scene and arrested three young offenders who were held for court.


240 victoria road October 23, 2011 11-162912 - Robbery - At 10:55 p.m., a man entered the Petro Canada Service Station, 240 Victoria Road in Dartmouth, produced a knife and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk turned over a small amount of cash and the suspect fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white man in his fifties, 5’9" to 5’10", slim build, wearing a blue hoodie with dark lettering on the front. The matter remains under investigation.


173 herring cove road October 22, 2011 11-162417 - Robbery - At approximately 11:45 p.m., police were called to a robbery at the Ultramar Gas Station, 173 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. Two male suspects approached a clerk while waving a knife and demanded money. The suspects fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. The store clerk was not injured during the incident. The suspects were described as two men in their early twenties. One suspect was wearing a blue hoodie with the hood up, black pants and shoes and had an orange bandana covering his face. The second suspect was wearing a black hoodie, blue bandana, white rimmed sunglasses, black jeans and shoes. A K-9 track was conducted with negative results. The matter remains under investigation.


October 20, 2011 11-160871 - Robbery - At 9:15 a.m., police were called to the parking lot of JL Ilsley High School in Halifax. Apparently, two male teenagers were having a verbal disagreement when one youth assaulted the other and demanded his money. An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the suspect and he fled the area. The two youth were known to each another. The victim was not seriously injured and the teenage male was later arrested.


100 connor lane October 18, 2011 11-159502 - Robbery - At 2:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of Connor Lane in Halifax. A pizza driver was on a delivery when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects lured the driver away from his vehicle then assaulted him. During the assault, the other suspect ran off with the pizza. The driver received minor injuries that didn't require treatment. Nothing else was stolen during the incident. The suspects were described as two black males, sixteen to 20-years-old. One suspect was 5'6", thin build, and wearing a bright coloured hoodie. The second suspect was 5'9", thin build and wearing jeans. This matter remains under investigation.


road October 16, 2011 11-158899 - Robbery - At approximately 9:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Subway restaurant, 28 St. Margaret’s Bay Road in Halifax. Two suspects entered the restaurant, jumped the counter, showed the clerk a canister of a sensory irritant and demanded cash from the register. After receiving a quantity of cash, one of the suspects sprayed the clerk with the sensory irritant. The suspects then fled the area on foot. The clerk was treated at the scene by EHS. Both suspects were described as white men, eighteen to 20-years-old, approximately 5'8 to 6', with a thin build. One suspect was wearing blue jeans, dark shoes, a dark hoodie and red gloves. The other suspect was wearing a grey jacket with a stripe across the front, dark jeans and dark shoes. The two male suspects had their jacket collars pulled up covering their faces. This incident remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section.


6273 jubilee road October 13, 2011 11-156915 - Robbery - At 12:16 a.m., police responded to 6273 Jubilee Road in Halifax. A male entered the store, produced a knife and demanded the clerk open the cash register. The suspect fled when he realized someone else was in the store. The area was checked but the suspect could not be located. The suspect was described as a white male, 5' feet tall, slim build with blood shot eyes wearing a grey ski mask, grey hoodie, and blue jeans.






6700 lady hammond road October 13, 2011 11-156827 - Robbery - At 8:30 p.m., police responded to the 6700 block of Lady Hammond Road in Halifax. Upon arrival, it was a learned a male victim was stuck in the back of the head and knocked to the ground by two males while walking on Lady Hammond Road. The two suspects robbed him of some personal items and fled the area on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital and released. The suspects were described as two black males between 14 and 17-years-old, clean shaven and both wearing black hoodies. The area was checked with negative results.



100 old sambro road October 12, 2011 11-156883 - Weapons - At 11:08 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road in Halifax. Several people in the residence were fighting and one had been injured. Officers arrived and learned a male had been stabbed and was transported to the QE2 Health Science with non life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. Officers located the male a short distance away. The 28-year-old male suspect was arrested and held for court to face several charges including assault with a weapon and assault causing.

A third person has been arrested in connection with this robbery. A 15-year-old male youth was arrested last night without incident and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court at a later date to face a charge of robbery.

6900 mumford road October 11, 2011 11-156232 - Robbery - At 8:14 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the 6900 block of Mumford Road in Halifax. Two male youths were approached by a group of 4 or 5 males. One member of the group pushed one of the victims to the ground and went through his pockets. The group then fled the area on foot. Patrol and Quick Response officers located and arrested two suspects. As a result of the investigation, two male youths were released to appear in court at a later date to face robbery charges.


25 nantucket avenue October 9, 2011 11-154224 - Attempt Robbery - At 12:05 a.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery at the McDonalds Restaurant, 25 Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth. A man armed with a knife entered the restaurant and demanded cash. Staff members fled the counter area to the back of the restaurant and telephoned police. The suspect wasn't able to open the cash register and fled the area on foot empty handed. Responding officers weren't able to locate the suspect. The suspect was described as a white man with a slim build, approximately 5’4", wearing a black hoodie and a green scarf covering his face. No one was injured during the incident. The matter remains under investigation.


5524 spring garden road October 9, 2011 11-154289 - Attempt Robbery - At 2:20 a.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart, 5524 Spring Garden Road in Halifax. A man armed with a knife approached the clerk and demanded cash from the register. The clerk didn't comply and the man fled the area when the store security guard appeared. Responding officers searched the area but didn't locate the suspect. The suspect was described as a white male, 6’2", approximately 200 lbs, brown hair, wearing a black and green hoodie and jeans. The suspect had his face covered.

At this time Halifax Regional Police do not believe these two incidents are connected in any way.


October 9, 2011 11-154609 - Assault with a Weapon - At 7:15 p.m., police responded to a call of a disturbance on a Metro Transit bus in Dartmouth Crossing. At this time, it appears that two groups were engaged in a disturbance prior to boarding the bus. The disturbance continued on the bus, resulting in a 35-year-old man being assaulted by two male youths. The man sustained a cut to his face and was treated at the scene by EHS. A knife was recovered at the scene. Two male youths were arrested and will appear in court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon, theft and breaching a court order.


walter havill drive October 8, 2011 11-154731 - Robbery - Shortly after 10 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a residence on Walter Havill Drive in Halifax. Four men were inside of a residence when two men entered and showed the victims what was believed to be a handgun. The suspects then took a television from the victims. No one was injured during the incident. This was not a random act as the victims knew one of the suspects. The matter remains under investigation.

Update -
5000 cunard street October 1, 2011 11-150945 - Break and Enter - Approximately 1:30 a.m, police responded to the 5000 block of Cunard Street. Upon arrival, officers located a suspect inside the residence and was arrested without incident. The second suspect fled on foot. Numerous HRP members responded and after a lengthy foot chase, the suspect was eventually cornered and taken into custody. Two young offender males will be facing Break & Enter charges and will appear in Youth Court in Halifax in the morning.


133 main street September 27, 2011 11-148541 - Robbery - At 4:50 p.m., police responded to Allstar Vacuum, 133 Main Street in Dartmouth. An employee reported while he was behind the counter, a male entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash. The store employee emptied the cash register for the suspect and the suspect fled on foot in the direction of Lakecrest Drive, with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white male, 21-22-years-old, clean shaven, wearing shorts and a navy t-shirt pulled up over his face.




LACEWOOD drive & glenforest drive September 26, 2011 11-148129 - Robbery - At 11 p.m., police responded to a report of a robber in the area of Lacewood Drive and Glenforest Drive. A 19-year-old reported that while walking along Lacewood and Glenforest Drive he was approached by two males who punched him in the face and stole his cell phone. One of the suspects was holding a knife during the incident. The suspects fled the area on foot. The victim received a bloody nose during the incident. The suspects were described as two black male youths, 16 to 17-years-old. One was wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up and carrying a black backpack. The second male had a chubby build and a shaved head, and was wearing a dark tank top and a zipped up sweater with dark pants. The matter remains under investigation.


535 portland street September 24, 2011 11-146901 - Break & Enter - At approximately 9:15 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to an alarm at the Penhorn Mall, 535 Portland Street in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a break and enter into the Sears Store. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival, a search by K9 failed to locate the suspect. Video surveilance showed the suspect committing the offence. The suspect was as a white male in his mid 20's. Several hours later, police members arrested a suspect matching the description in the video. This incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.



2863 oxford street September 21, 2011 11-145094 - Robbery - At 8:40 p.m., two suspects entered Ardmore Grocery, 2863 Oxford Street in Halifax and demanded cash. One suspect was armed with a knife and the other with a hand gun. A small amount of cash was obtained from the clerk and the two suspects fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. A number of police units responded quickly and two male youths were arrested a short distance from the convenience store. A pellet gun was recovered from one of the youths. Both were arrested and held for court to face robbery and weapons related charges.


victoria road September 18, 2011 11-142797 - Robbery - At approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Petro Canada on Victoria Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the business, stated he had a gun although none was seen and demanded money. The suspect fled the area on foot. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a white man in his forties, 5'5", with grey hair and goatee. This matter remains under investigation.


victoria road & WINDMILL Road September 18, 2011 11-142906 - Robbery - At 8:45 p.m., police responded to the One Stop Shop, 269 Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the business, indicated he had a weapon and demanded cash. He fled the store with a small amount of cash. The store clerk was not injured during the incident. The suspect description matched a robbery committed early at the Petro Canada Station on Victoria Road (
connaught avenue & WINDSOR Street September 18, 2011 11-142872 - Robbery - At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at Rush Hour Pizza, 3646 Windsor Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that two white man entered the store, one carrying a knife and the other with a hand gun. Both demanded cash and cigarettes. A small quantity of each was taken. The suspects fled the scene and were last seen running down Connaught Avenue onto Chisholm Avenue. The clerks were not injured during the incident. The suspects were described as two white man, between 18 to 19-years-old. One witness reported that they may have been two black males with light complexions. The suspects were wearing black hoodies with dark undershirts and light coloured pants, and covered their faces with black scarfs. The matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated General Investigative Unit.


3400 windsor street September 16, 2011 11-142332 - Robbery - At 8:44 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at at an business in the 3400 block of Windsor Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man carrying a knife entered the business and demanded tobacco. The victim confronted the suspect and the suspect fled on foot without obtaining anything. The suspect got on a bike and was last seen heading down Hood Street. The suspect was described wearing a white face covering. No one was injured during the incident.


100 main street September 15, 2011 11-141682 - Robbery - At approximately 7 p.m., police responded to the area of 100 Main Street in Dartmouth. The victim reported that a man who is known to him approached him and attempted to forcibly remove his cell phone. The victim was able to free himself and maintain control of his property. The suspect was located a short distance away and faces a charge of robbery.


364 herring cove road September 14, 2011 11-140512 - Break and Enter -At approximately 12 a.m., police responded to an intrusion alarm at Central Spryfield School, 364 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. The Quick Response Unit was first on scene and contained the building. Officers could see movement inside of the building. Patrol members and a K-9 unit attended and covered off the school. As a result, five male youths were arrested and held for court in the morning to face charges of break and enter, theft as well as breaching court orders.


2 ochterloney drive September 13, 2011 11-139738/139748 - Robberies - At 3:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission, 2 Ochterloney Drive in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, approached the clerk and demanded cash. The suspect had his hand in his pocket indicating he had a weapon although none was seen. When the clerk refused to give the suspect any cash, the man grabbed a quantity of liquor and fled the store. The suspect jumped into a red vehicle driven by a second male. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as white man, 25 to 30-years-old, 6’2", with dark hair, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and with a blue shirt covering his face. The vehicle was described as a red Pontiac. The driver of the vehicle was described as a black man. There were several other men in the vehicle but no descriptions were obtained.


At 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at the Quick Way Store, 25 Crystal Drive in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, told the clerk to get on the ground and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect had his hands in his pocket indicating he had a weapon although none was seen. The suspect was described as wearing a red t-shirt with a blue shirt around his face. The suspect didn't get any money from the store and no one was injured during the incident. Officers arrived on scene quickly and observed a red Pontiac vehicle with several men inside in front of the store. As the officers approached, all of the men fled on foot. Numerous officer and K-9 units attended the area to search for the suspects. Eventually, four men were taken into custody. They are believed to be responsible for both robberies. This matter remains under investigation and specific charges haven't yet been determined.


300 herring cove road September 13, 2011 11-139885 - Robbery - At approximately 8:13 p.m., two men were in a vehicle parked outside of a residence in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road in Halifax. Upon exiting the vehicle, one of the men was assaulted by three men and sprayed with sensory irritant. The second man, who remained inside of the vehicle, was also sprayed and robbed of a quantity of cash. The suspects fled the area on foot. The victims were treated at the scene by EHS. A K-9 Unit searched the area but wasn't able to locate the suspects. The suspects were described as white men, one was 6'2" and wore a long-sleeve blue shirt and jeans.


m September 12, 2011 11-139949 - Robbery - A 15-year-old male victim called police after he had arrived home to report that his his cell phone and ball hat were stolen. The victim and his friends were at the Mumford Transit Terminal between 5:30-6:30 p.m. when they were approach by two males who demanded his cell phone and ball hat. One of the suspects showed him a hand gun located in his waist band under his shirt. No one was injured during the incident. The suspects were described as three black males, 17 to 19-years-old, all with black hair. Two of the suspects were described as 5'2" and skinny. The suspect with the handgun was described as approximately 6', with an athletic build and wearing a black or blue sweater. The matter remains under investigation.


6324 quinpool road September 10, 2011 11-138145 - Robbery - At 11:35 p.m., police responded to McDonalds, 6324 Quinpool Road in Halifax. Upon arrival, it was learned, a male had entered McDonalds and confronted staff with a knife demanding cash. The employee complied and the suspect left out a rear door and eventually got into a waiting vehicle and fled the area. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was described as a male, 5’7” tall, 145 lbs, wearing a mask, a hoodie and black jeans. The vehicle was described as a grey vehicle resembling a Volkswagon. The area was checked with negative results. The file remains under investigation.





6 primrose street September 6, 2011 11-135642 - Robbery - Approximately 7:30 p.m., a male entered the Sobeys Store, 6 Primrose Street in Dartmouth. He approached the cashier and demanded money from the till, indicating he had a weapon in his pocket, although none was seen. The clerk opened the till, and the male reached over and grabbed a quantity of bills and fled the store. The clerk was not injured during the incident. Upon police viewing the video, they were able to identify the male suspect. A 55-year-old man was arrested a short time later and held for court, facing charges of robbery and violating his court orders.




bayers road September 4, 2011 11-134613 - Robbery - At approximately 9:00 p.m., a male entered the Petro Canada Service Station on Bayers Road with a knife, demanding cash and cigarettes from the store clerk. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and a quantity of cigarettes then fled on foot. The suspect was described wearing a dark hoodie, with the hood up, dark pants and carrying a black addias gym bag.



128 chain lake drive August 26, 2011 11-129794 - Theft of Vehicles - At 3:15 p.m., two men, each driving a stolen truck, entered a lot across from 128 Chain Lake Drive, and attached a trailers to the back of each trucks and drove off. As they were leaving the area, an employee noticed them and called police. The two men parked the trucks and fled the area on foot. The first suspect was described as a white man, with a thin face, dark complexion and a mustache, and wearing a black bandana, black t-shirt. The second suspect was described as a white man, between 20 to 30-years-old, with black hair and a mustache, and wearing a dark t-shirt. The matter remains under investigation.


south park street & BRENTON Street August 25, 2011 11-128705 - Robbery - At approximately 7:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery on South Park Street in Halifax. The female victim stated she was walking on South Park Street near Brenton Street, talking on her cell phone, when she was pushed and knocked to the ground by a female. The female grabbed her phone and attempted to take her purse. Three other females joined in and all four fled the area on foot. Officers located all four females and recovered the victim's cell phone which had been discarded. Four female youths are being held for court on robbery charges. The victim was not injured during the incident.


pinecrest drive August 25, 2011 11-129235 - Robbery - At 5:36 p.m., police responded to a robbery on Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim was traveling on a bus when an altercation occurred between her and a group of female youths. As she got off the bus, she was kicked and then punched by one of the female youths. The female took the victim's cell phone and fled the area. The suspect was described as a dark skinned, black female youth wearing a white shirt. The matter remains under investigation.


sackville & argyle streets August 24, 2011 11-128272 - Robbery - At approximately 1:15 a.m., members of the Central Quick Response Unit, who were on patrol in the downtown core of Halifax, observed a robbery occur in the area of Sackville and Argyle Streets. The 54-year-old male victim was assaulted by one of two parties involved in the robbery. The Quick Response Unit intervened in the assault and after a short foot chase, apprehended two male youths, aged 16 and 17. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EHS and released. The youths will appear in Halifax Youth Court today to face robbery charges.


prince albert road August 24, 2011 11-127939/127930 - Robbery - At approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to 21 Mic Mac Boulevard for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had grabbed a woman's cell phone and fled the area on foot along with two other males. The suspects fled towards Brookdale Cresent where they encountered another woman walking on the street. The same male punched the woman in the face and took her purse. Officers located the males near Prince Albert Road. A male youth was arrested without incident and will appear in court to face two counts of robbery.


6443 quinpool road August 24, 2011 11-128841 - Robbery - At approximately 11:53 p.m., police responded to a robbery at Subway, 6443 Quinpool Road in Halifax. A male entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash. The clerk complied and the male fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash. The area was checked by a K-9 Unit, the Quick Response Unit and patrol officers but could not locate the suspect. The suspect was described as a male, approxmately 5’6”, dressed in black and with his face covered. This matter remains under investigation.


lower water street August 19, 2011 11-124634 - Robbery - At 10:30 p.m., a 22-year-old woman had just left work at a business along the waterfront and was walking in front of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on Lower Water Street when she was approached by four black females. The females asked her for a cigarette then pushed her to the ground, covering her mouth while they stole her wallet. A small quantity of cash was inside the wallet. The suspects were last observed fleeing north bound along Lower Water Street, heading towards the Ferry Terminal. The victim was not injured during the incident. The female suspects were described as being 15 to 20-years-old, and wearing jeans and hoodies.


pleasant street & NEWCASTLE Streets August 18, 2011 11-124043 - Robbery - At 1:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Parker and Newcastle Streets in Halifax. A 22-year-old man and a 18-year-old woman were approached by two male suspects who demanded cash. One of the suspects produced what was believed to be a handgun. The victims stated that they didn't have any cash and the suspects fled the area. East Patrol Officers located the two suspects a few minutes later walking along Pleasant Street. A 16-year-old Dartmouth male was arrested and found to be in possession of a BB gun, which looked similar to a real gun. He was held for court and faces robbery, possession of weapons dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm and using a imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence. A 20-year-old Dartmouth male was also arrested and held for court to face one count of robbery and three counts of breach of a recognizance.


6900 bayers road August 17, 2011 11-123405 - Robbery - At approximately 12:20 a.m., police responded to the 6900 block of Bayers Road in Halifax. A man reported he was approached by two unknown males who attempted to forcibly remove his satchel from him as he exited a bus. A struggle ensued between the two males and the victim. The males then fled the area without any property. The victim was not injured during the incident. No arrests have been made at this time. The suspects were described as two black males, 17 to 20-years-old, both wearing white t-shirts.
