October 20, 2011 11-160871 - Robbery - At 9:15 a.m., police were called to the parking lot of JL Ilsley High School in Halifax. Apparently, two male teenagers were having a verbal disagreement when one youth assaulted the other and demanded his money. An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the suspect and he fled the area. The two youth were known to each another. The victim was not seriously injured and the teenage male was later arrested.


100 connor lane October 18, 2011 11-159502 - Robbery - At 2:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of Connor Lane in Halifax. A pizza driver was on a delivery when he was approached by two suspects. One of the suspects lured the driver away from his vehicle then assaulted him. During the assault, the other suspect ran off with the pizza. The driver received minor injuries that didn't require treatment. Nothing else was stolen during the incident. The suspects were described as two black males, sixteen to 20-years-old. One suspect was 5'6", thin build, and wearing a bright coloured hoodie. The second suspect was 5'9", thin build and wearing jeans. This matter remains under investigation.


duke street October 13, 2011 11-156729 - Assault - At 4:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Albermarble Drive near Duke Street in Halifax. A dispute between a Metro Transit driver and motorist had occurred. Upon arrival, it was learned the motorist exited his vehicle and boarded the bus trying to strike the driver. The driver exited the bus and the male followed him striking him in the chest and threatening him. A citizen attempted to stop the male suspect by standing in front of his car. The male put the car in gear and struck the citizen knocking him to the ground. A 41-year-old male was charged and will appear in court to face several charges included uttering threats, assault and assault with a weapon.



100 old sambro road October 12, 2011 11-156883 - Weapons - At 11:08 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road in Halifax. Several people in the residence were fighting and one had been injured. Officers arrived and learned a male had been stabbed and was transported to the QE2 Health Science with non life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. Officers located the male a short distance away. The 28-year-old male suspect was arrested and held for court to face several charges including assault with a weapon and assault causing.

A third person has been arrested in connection with this robbery. A 15-year-old male youth was arrested last night without incident and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court at a later date to face a charge of robbery.

October 9, 2011 11-154609 - Assault with a Weapon - At 7:15 p.m., police responded to a call of a disturbance on a Metro Transit bus in Dartmouth Crossing. At this time, it appears that two groups were engaged in a disturbance prior to boarding the bus. The disturbance continued on the bus, resulting in a 35-year-old man being assaulted by two male youths. The man sustained a cut to his face and was treated at the scene by EHS. A knife was recovered at the scene. Two male youths were arrested and will appear in court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon, theft and breaching a court order.


SUSSEX drive & herring cove road October 9, 2011 11-154640 - Assault with a Weapon - At approximately 8:10 p.m., two 15-year-old males were walking on a trail in the area of Herring Cove Road and Sussex Drive in Halifax when an unknown person approached them and sprayed them with a sensory irritant. The two youths ran to a local restaurant and police and EHS were called. The youth were treated and released at the scene. No suspect descriptions were given.


stone avenue October 9, 2011 11-154677 - Assault with a Weapon - At 9:25 p.m., a taxi driver was dispatched to pick up a fare on Stone Avenue in Dartmouth. As he was parked on the street, two males approached his vehicle from the rear, one armed with a long wooden pole. The suspect struck the vehicle with the pole, smashing the driver's side window. He then attempted to strike the driver but the pole broke. The driver was able to grab a piece of the pole and fend off the two suspects, who fled the area on foot. The 45-year-old taxi driver of sustained minor injuries. The first suspect was described as a white male, 17 to 20-year-old, 6'1", medium build but not muscular, thin chin strap style facial hair, light coloured medium length hair, and a round face. He was wearing a bright blue t-shirt with no designs or writings and long baggy jean shorts that were below his knees. The second suspect was described as a white male, very tall and skinny. He was wearing dark pants and a white hoodie covered in small black crosses, with the hood up. His face was covered with a dark colored bandana and he was wearing sun glasses.


1300 south park street October 1, 2011 11-150084 - Assault With a Weapon - At 3 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon in the 1300 block of South Park Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that a fight had broken out between two males and one male pulled out a knife and stabbed the other several times in the leg. The suspect then fled the apartment before officers arrived. The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. The suspect was not located. The suspect and victim were not known to each other but this isn't believed to be a random incident.

1000 barrington street September 13, 2011 11-139742 - Assault With a Weapon - At 3:20 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in the 1000 block of Barrington Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers learned that two men were involved in a dispute and one of the men pulled a knife on the other. The victim sustained a minor cut to his arm. A man was arrested a short distance away and taken into police custody. This matter remains under investigation and charges haven't yet been determined.


300 herring cove road September 13, 2011 11-139885 - Robbery - At approximately 8:13 p.m., two men were in a vehicle parked outside of a residence in the 300 block of Herring Cove Road in Halifax. Upon exiting the vehicle, one of the men was assaulted by three men and sprayed with sensory irritant. The second man, who remained inside of the vehicle, was also sprayed and robbed of a quantity of cash. The suspects fled the area on foot. The victims were treated at the scene by EHS. A K-9 Unit searched the area but wasn't able to locate the suspects. The suspects were described as white men, one was 6'2" and wore a long-sleeve blue shirt and jeans.


0-100 victoria road September 5, 2011 11-135454 - Assault with a Weapon - At 11:15 a.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Victoria Road in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, the officers located a young male who had been sprayed with a sensory irritant. The victim and his attacker were known to each other. The matter remains under investigation but charges are expected.


September 3, 2011 11-134619 - Sexual Assault - On
divas lane August 27, 2011 11-130469 - Assault - At 9:50 p.m., Central officers responded to the 5000 block of Divas Lane, Halifax for a weapons call. A woman reported that a man who had been hit with a shovel was lying on the ground. Responding officers located a 39-year-old man suffering from injuries to his head. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. The suspects were described as two black males. The first suspect was described as being dark complected, over 6', with a large build. The second suspect was described as dark complected, with a smaller build and shorter than the first suspect. There were no witnesses to the incident. This matter remains under investigation.


1700 barrington street August 25, 2011 11-128263 - Assault with a Weapon - Shortly after midnight, police responded to a complaint of an assault with a weapon in the 1700 block of Barrington Street. The five victims were walking in the area when a vehicle described as a white or silver-colored SUV style vehicle approached the group. A party within the vehicle produced a large cannister and sprayed a noxious substance at the victims. All parties were treated by EHS and released at the scene.


sackville & argyle streets August 24, 2011 11-128272 - Robbery - At approximately 1:15 a.m., members of the Central Quick Response Unit, who were on patrol in the downtown core of Halifax, observed a robbery occur in the area of Sackville and Argyle Streets. The 54-year-old male victim was assaulted by one of two parties involved in the robbery. The Quick Response Unit intervened in the assault and after a short foot chase, apprehended two male youths, aged 16 and 17. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EHS and released. The youths will appear in Halifax Youth Court today to face robbery charges.


argyle street August 15, 2011 11-122882 - Assault with a Weapon - At 3:50 a.m., police responded to a report of men fighting in the area of Blowers and Argyle Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men who were suffering from injuries - a 22-year-old man had a sprained ankle and a 20-year-old man had a slash wound to his abdomen believed to be caused by a knife. Both were taken to the QEII Hospital. Another three male victims were located at the scene. These three had witnessed the initial incident and attempted to intervene. One of the suspects produced a knife, uttered threats and assaulted two of the men. A 22-year-old Herring Cove man and a 25-year-old Fall River man were arrested at the scene. The 25-year-old, faces several charges including assault with a weapon x 3, assault x 3, uttering death threats x 3 and numerous breachs of court orders. He will appear in Halifax Provincial court later this afternoon. This incident is being investigated by the General Investigative Section. Additional charges may be laid.


100 old sambro road July 23, 2011 11-110136 - Assault With A Weapon - At
11:30 p.m., West Patrol Officers responded to an unknown trouble complaint at the Clayton Park Shopping Plaza, 278 Lacewood Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle containing two female occupants had been followed by a vehicle containing four males not known to them. The females saw a group of taxi drivers parked at the Clayton Park Shopping Centre and requested their assistance. The taxi drivers confronted the males in the suspect vehicle and during this exchange a male taxi driver received a stab wound to his chest and was almost run over as the suspect vehicle fled the area. Another taxi driver became a victim as a second suspect picked up a piece of construction debris with the intention of striking him. The suspects fled this scene and were pursued by the taxi drivers to an address in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road. The taxi driver who had been stabbed was taken by ambulance to the hospital with what are believed at this time to be non life threatening injuries. Officers went to the Old Sambro Road and two men and two male youths were taken into custody. The suspect vehicle is also in police custody. The investigation is ongoing with members if the Integrated General Investigative Unit and Patrol officers interviewing witnesses, victims and the four suspects.

spring garden road & GRAFTON Street July 12, 2011 11-103028 - Assault - At approximately 1 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in the 1500 block of Grafton Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a 54-year-old man who advised that two males had broken into his apartment, assaulted him with a blunt object and fled in the direction of Spring Garden Road. The victim was taken to the QEII hosptial with serious but non life threatening injuries. The suspects were described as two light skinned black males, 5'11"-6', 170-190 pounds, wearing white basketball t-Shirts, white shorts and sneakers. The matter remains under investigation.


ROMANS avenue & bayers road July 5, 2011 11-98723 - Attempt Robbery - At 2:30 a.m., a teenage male was walking in the area of Romans Avenue and Bayers Road in Halifax when he was approached by three unknown males. The suspects demanded cash and the victim's wallet. When the victim refused, the suspects physically assaulted him and the victim received facial lacerations. The male suspects were described as three teenage black males, between 5'8"-6'. One male was wearing a white shirt and another was wearing beige shorts and a dark shirt. The area was checked by a K-9 Unit with negative results. The incident remains under investigation.


hilden drive June 22, 2011 11-91530 - Robbery - At 11:50 p.m., a 16-year-old male walking on a path at the top of Hilden Drive in Spryfield was struck in the back of the head by an unknown object and assaulted by two males. The suspects searched his pockets but did not take anything. Limited descriptions of the suspects were given due to the trail being dark. The suspects were described as two males, slim build, approximately 5'10" to 6'. The victim was transported to the QEII hospital with minor injuries and later released.


0-100 dawn street June 18, 2011 11-88956 - Robbery - At approximately 1:52 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Dawn Street in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, it was learned a victim had been assaulted by two black males while walking along Dawn Street. The suspects threatened him and demanded his wallet, they obtained a small amount of money from the victim and then fled the area. The victim was not injured during the incident and remains under investigation. The suspects were described as two black males, both were 19-years-old and approximately 5'6" tall. One male was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the second male was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.



primrose street May 27, 2011 11-176101 - Domestic Assault - At 2:30 p.m., police responded to a domestic assault report on Primrose Street in Dartmouth. During the initial investigation members learned that the suspect was in a residence nearby threatening to harm himself and made reference his residence was rigged to explode. Negotiators spoke to the suspect for over 45 minutes attempting to de-escalate the situation. At which time, officers observed a hunting knife in the suspects hand and entered the residence in order for the suspect not to cause harm to himself or others. A 60-year-old male was taken into custody and assessed at the QEII Hospital. He was held in custody to face domestic assault charges and uttering death threats.




2500 agricola street May 22, 2011 11-72769 - Sexual Assault - At 2:00 a.m., a 21-year-old female victim left a party in the 2500 block of Agricola Street in Halifax and was approached by a male suspect who engaged her in conversation as she walked along Agricola Street. When she approached Ahern Avenue the suspect tried to coax the victim to go up Citadel Hill with him. The victim declined and the suspect grabbed her by the hair and started to pull her up Citadel Hill. Once they were part way up the hill the suspect knocked the victim to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fight the suspect off and the suspect ran from the area. The suspect was described as a white male, 40-years-old, 5'8", clean shaven, short grey hair, thin face with large bulging eyes. This incident is being investigated by Major Crime.

6200 jubilee road April 26, 2011 11-59688 - Break and Enter - At 7:55 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 6200 block of Jubilee Road in Halifax. Three males had broken into a residence, one believed to be in possession of a firearm. The suspects confronted the residents and attempted to steal items from the house. One of the suspects assaulted a resident and then all three fled the area. Police checked the area but could not locate the suspects. The suspects were described as two black males and one asian male all approximately 20-years-old, wearing all black clothing and faces covered with bandanas. The incident remains under investigation.








QUINPOOL road & robie street April 21, 2011 11-57213 - Assault - At approximately 4 p.m., police received a call of a possible assault of an elderly male and the theft of his vehicle at the intersection of Quinpool Road and Robie Street in Halifax. A short time later, patrol members recovered the vehicle and four male suspects in the area of Kempt Road. Upon further investigation, it appears the occupants of two separate vehicles were involved in a heated exchange of words and there was an assault of an elderly male driver. His vehicle was not stolen. The four male suspects fled the scene in their own vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.


2100 barrington street April 17, 2011 11-55043 - Assault with a Weapon - At 1:30 p.m., in the 2100 block of Barrington Street in Halifax. A 36-year-old male and a 40-year-old male became involved in a physical altercation. The 40-year-old male stabbed the other male in his hand and the victim ran. The victim was located and taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury. The suspect was arrested at the scene and will be appearing in court facing an assault with a weapon charge and other weapon offences. The suspect and the victim were known to each other.








OCHTERLONEY street & prince albert road April 17, 2011 11-54464 - Robbery - Approximately 1:00 a.m., a 21-year-old female walking in the area of Prince Albert Road and Ochterloney Street in Dartmouth, was approached by a group of youth. Two females from the group asked her for cigarettes and as the victim was taking a cigarette out of her hand bag, the females began assaulting her, throwing her to the ground and removing all the cigarettes from her bag. The victim got up and ran home to call police. Halifax Regional Police responded to the area and arrested the two suspects. A 15-year-old female and a 16-year-old female were arrested and will attend court at a later date to face charges of robbery.



7037 mumford road April 15, 2011 11-54234 - Robbery - Approximately 1:40 p.m., police responded to Mumford Video, 7037 Mumford Road, in Halifax. A male holding a knife entered the store and demanded cash from the female clerk, no one else was in the store at the time. The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. Patrol Officer's and K-9 attended the scene but was unable to locate the suspect. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5'7" tall, thin build. He was wearing a light grey hoody with a red bandanna covering his face and dark pants. No one was injured in this incident.

11-54422 - Assault With a Weapon -Approximately 10:00 p.m., police responded to a call of a group of youths assaulting a male near the bus stop at 6960 Mumford Road in Halifax. It appears that the 57-year-old male victim had been sprayed in the face with a type of sensory irritant. A short distance from the scene two male suspects were arrested for the incident. A 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male will both appear in court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon. The victim did not require any hospital treatment.







CLIFTON street & north street April 9, 2011 11-50895 -Assault and Robbery -Approximately 5:30 p.m., police responded to the area of North Street and Clifton Street in Halifax. A male victim stated, he had just gotten off the Metro Transit Bus whe he was approached by three white males. They demanded his wallet and when he said he had no money he was punched from the rear and they grabbed his back pack and fled. The victim did not require medical treatment and was not seriously injured. The victim could only described the male suspect who did all the talking, a white male between 15-20-years-old, 5'11" tall, medium build, wearing a brown hoodie with "DC" letters, blue jeans and black Nike sneakers.


portland street March 28, 2011 11-45233 - Assault and Property Damage - At 7:42 p.m., police responded to the Portland Street Bus Terminal to a report of a group of youths causing a disturbance. An officer attempted to arrest a male youth and he and a Metro Transit Service Supervisor sere assaulted. One male party fled the scene, after throwing a rock through the rear window of the police vehicle. The male was located a short distance away with assistance of K9. Upon reviewing the video from Metro Transit, a total of five youths, three females and two males were arrested and charges are pending.

The Metro Transit Service Supervisor was taken to hospital for observation and the police officer received minor injuries that did not require treatment.





March 27, 2011 11-43538/43540/43583 - Sexual Assault -At approximately 7:30 a.m., police responded to three separate incidents of females being sexually assaulted in downtown Dartmouth. All of the victims either walking or running in the downtown area. The man approached the women individually and touched them in a sexual manner. A 22-year-old man was arrested a short time later. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday.


ROMANS avenue & bayers road March 13, 2011 11-36443 - Assault with a weapon - Approximately 1:05 a.m., two males ages 16 and 17 were walking in the area of Bayers Road and Romans Avenue when the 16-year-old male was shot in the shoulder. The victim flagged over an ambulance driving by and he was transported to the QEII Hospital. The victim and his companion stated they did not see a suspect and were not cooperative with the investigators. The injury is not life threatening.



0-100 lakecrest drive March 9, 2011 11-35828 - Assault with a weapon - Approximately, 10:15 p.m., a 24-year-old male arrived at the Dartmouth General Hospital suffering from stab wounds. It appears, the male was stabbed in or around a building in the 0-100 block of Lakecrest Drive in Dartmouth. The victim’s injuries are believed to be serious but not life threatening. There is no suspect description at this time.






WILLETT street & main avenue March 5, 2011 11-33634 - Assault - At approximately 8:45 p.m., two men, ages 22 and 23, were walking in the area of Willett Street and Main Avenue in Halifax. They were approached by four males, who demanding a cigarette from them. When the victims refused, they were told to empty their pockets. The suspects took the victims' wallets and an Ipod. One of the suspects struck both victims with a baseball bat. All four suspect fled the area on foot. The victims attended the hospital on their own and were treated for non life-threatening injuries. The suspects were described as four white males, three were wearing dark clothing with their hoods up and one male was wearing a white jacket with the hood up. All four males had their faces covered with dark bandanas.


lacewood drive & WILLETT Street February 22, 2011 11-27394 - Robbery - Approximately 9:30 p.m., a male victim was approached by three males in the area of Willett Street and Harlington Crescent in Halifax. One male approached the victim and asked if he had any marijuana, he was then assaulted and his wallet was taken. The suspects fled down Willett Street towards Lacewood Drive. The victim attended the hospital and required stitches for a cut to his face. The suspects were described as two white males, between 16-18 years old, one male was approximately 200 lbs, with a Mohawk hairstyle and piercing on his face. No description was given for the third suspect.



February 12, 2011 11-22279 - Robbery - At 9:15 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a call a male had been assaulted in the 100 Block of Shubie Drive in Dartmouth. The male victim was attacked from behind by two males and assaulted. The suspects fled the area with the victims glasses and was apprehended a short distance away. A 19-year-old Indian Brook male will appear in Halifax Provincial court on Monday facing robbery charges and a 17-year-old Millbrook male will appear in Halifax Youth court at a later date. The victim was not injured during the altercation and did not require medical assistance.




evans avenue February 5, 2011 11-18562 - Assault - At 10:40 p.m., police responded to the area of Evans Avenue in Halifax. A victim stated he was assaulted and stabbed while he was parked in his vehicle. He was transported to the QEII Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. The 22-year-old male is not cooperating with police. It is suspected the victim knows his asaulters and not considered to be a random act.

100 pinecrest drive January 25, 2011 11-13165 - Injured Male -At approximately 6:15 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. A man was located lying unconscious on the ground. EHS was called and transported the 35-year-old man to the hospital where he was treated for serious but non life threatening injuries. Police spoke with witnesses at the scene and in the area, who stated that the man was assaulted by a group of five to seven young black males all wearing hoodies. Members of the Forensic Identification Section and the Integrated General Investigative Section are investigating the incident.


245 waverly road January 21, 2011 11-10832 - Weapons - At 2:30 a.m., police responded to a report of man firing a rifle at Monty's Bar, 245 Waverly Road in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the man had left the area. The suspect's vehicle was located at his residence in Montebello. Police secured the perimeter of the residence and the man was taken into custody. The scene was secured by police while a search warrant to search the residence was obtained.

Members of the General Investigative Section executed a search warrant and seized several weapons. Allen Estabrooks was charged and held for court to face nine weapons related offences, two charges of threatening conduct and sexual assault.


3300 romans avenue January 13, 2011 11-6600 - Weapons - At approximately 1:27 a.m., police responded to a weapons call at a residence in the 3300 block of Romans Avenue, Halifax. A bullet entered the residence but did not strike any occupants. Police checked the area and eventually located a person who had been involved in an altercation in this area. The male had been assaulted but did not require medical attention. This person confirmed that a weapon had been fired. The only description supplied of the suspects was two males wearing masks. Investigators do not believe this was a random incident. The matter remains under investigation by members of the General Investigation Section.


, police attended the QE2 Hospital , Halifax January 11, 2011 11-6020 - Weapons - At 11:48 p.m., police attended the QE2 Hospital in Halifax. A male victim entered the hospital after being assaulted and shot in the face with a pellet gun. The victim and his friends were sledding and throwing snowballs at passing vehicles in the north end of Halifax. During this time a white truck stopped and three black males, between 18-19-years-old, exited the vehicle and assaulted the victims and one male shot the victim in the face with a pellet gun. The victim was treated for facial injuries. The suspects left the area in a white truck. One suspect was described as a black male, long dreadlocks wearing a dark coat and baggy blue jeans. The matter remains under investigation and appears to be a random act.



bayers road January 4, 2011 11-1729 - Assault - At 8:30 p.m., a male victim was standing at the bus stop, at Bayers Road and Vaughan Avenue in Halifax. He was approached by two males who threatened him with a knife and demanded his IPOD and cash. The victim fled but tripped and was kicked and punched by the two suspects. A bystander approached the suspects and they ran away with nothing. The victim suffered cuts and was treated at the scene by EHS. The suspects were described as two black males between 17 and 20 years of age both approximately 6' tall. One male was wearing a white hoodie and dark sweat pants, the second male was wearing a green hoddie and dark pants.


daye street December 18, 2010 10-191357 - Assault - At approximately 1:30 a.m., a pizza driver was assaulted while making a delivery to the 5000 block of Buddy Daye Street in Halifax. The pizza's were taken and the driver suffered minor injuries. The suspects were described as two black females and one black male, between the ages of 18-25-years-old. Both females were approximately 5’5” tall, 150-170 lbs. The male suspect was 5’10” tall, athletic build, wearing a black hoodie and bandana. All suspects fled back into the apartment building. The area was canvassed and checked with negative results. The matter remains under investigation.


prince arthur avenue November 12, 2010 10-173663 - Assault with a Weapon - At 8:15 p.m., an officer was approached on Prince Arthur Avenue in Dartmouth by a man who advised another man had just been stabbed at a nearby residence. A 27-year-old man was found on the front steps of the residence suffering from a stab wound to his neck. He was transported to hospital by EHS where he remains with injuries that are life-threatening. At this time, it appears the incident occurred inside the residence. A man known to the victim was taken into custody overnight. The matter remains under investigation by the HRP and RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit.

ROMANS avenue & bayers road October 6, 2010 10-152062 - Robbery - At 9:10 p.m., in the area of Bayers Road and Romans Avenue in Halifax. A male was grabbed and assaulted, by two males while walking on a pathway. The suspects demanded the victim's ipod and wallet and fled the area on foot. The suspects were described as two black males, 18-25-years old, approximately 6" tall, wearing a red t-shirt and black sweat pants. The second suspect was between 20-30-years-old, approximately 5’11’’ tall, short dark hair, wearing a brown t-shirt and black pants. The victim did not require medical treatment.



agricola & almon streets October 6, 2010 10-152765 - Robbery - At 1:50 a.m., a man was walking in the area of Agricola and Almon Streets when he met up with a female. The two walked to an address in the area, but before entering, the female assaulted the male by striking him in the face. The female suspect also took the victim’s wallet containing an amount of cash. The female suspect then fled the area. She is described as a light skinned black female, small in stature, wearing a red jacket, dark pants and a black wool hat. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. Investigation is still ongoing.


churchill court September 25, 2010 10-145782 - Attempted Robbery - At 12:02 a.m., security for an apartment complex on Churchill Court in Dartmouth reported that one of their tenants had just been assaulted. A male tenant was walking down the staircase of the building when he was approached by a another man. The suspect grabbed the victim's arm, pushed him up against the wall, pulled out a knife and demanded the victim's wallet. The victim refused and the suspect swung at the victim, slicing his shirt and on a second swing, nicking his arm. The victim punched the suspect and the suspect dropped the knife and ran up the staircase. The suspect was described as a black man, 6', 185 lbs, 20-25-years-old, wearing a black Sean John sweater, a thick gold chain and black jeans. The matter remains under investigation.


3300 federal avenue September 24, 2010 10-145282 - Assault with a Weapon - At 2:15 a.m., police responded to the 3300 block of Federal Avenue, Halifax, and located a male suffering from stabbed wounds and a broken shoulder. The victim was transported to the QEII Hospital by ambulance with serious but non life threatening injuries. The suspect is known to the victim and has not yet been arrested.

brunswick street September 23, 2010 10-144522 - Assault with a Weapon - At approximately 9:30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was walking in the area of Brunswick Street and the George Dixon Center in Halifax, when he was approached by a group of 10 black males and females. One of the males struck the victim in the chin with a stick. The victim ran and called police from a business. The area was checked for suspects with negative results. The victim was taken to hospital and required stitches. The file remains under investigation.


1100 wellington street September 18, 2010 10-142068 - Break and Enter and Sexual Assault - HRP responded to a report of a break and enter and sexual assault inside a residence located in the 1100 block of Wellington Street, Halifax. Police received information that three women were awakened at approximately 3:30 a.m. to find a man standing over each of their beds watching them. It is also believed he touched two of them in a sexual manner. Based on the investigation, it is believed the suspect entered the apartment by removing a screen to an open window. Once inside, he went into the three separate bedrooms where the women were sleeping. The assaults consisted of inappropriate touching of a sexual nature. The suspect left the residence on foot in an unknown direction of travel. There were no physical injuries during this incident, but the victims were obviously shaken. Suspect is described as a white man, 20-25 years of age, 5'10" tall, medium build, dark hair, wearing blue jeans, grey sweater and a neck warmer covering his face.

Residents are reminded of the importance of keeping doors and accessible windows locked. They are also asked to report any suspicious or criminal activity to police immediately.

Investigators are attempting to determine if this incident is connected with other similar matters that have occurred over the past few years.
