September 6, 2010 | 10-134645 - Attempted Robbery and Assault with a Weapon - At 9:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery and assault with a weapon on Davison Street in Halifax. A man and woman walking in the area were approached by a group of youths and asked if they had a light for a cigarette. One male and two females from the group assaulted the man with a weapon, striking him in the face and causing a cut to his hand. The attackers went through the victim's pockets and then fled the area, running from West Street to the Agricola Street area. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. August 26, 2010 | 10-127783 - Assault Peace Officer - At 4:15 p.m., police responded to the Central Nova Correctional Centre in relation to an assault on a Corrections Officer. The victim was taken to the Dartmouth General Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released. The suspect remained at the Correctional Centre. The matter remains under investigation with charges expect to be laid. | |

August 22, 2010 | 10-125438 - Break and Enter - At approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a break and enter in-progress in the 6000 block of Chebucto Road, Halifax. The street was blocked and the residence was cleared for suspects. A suspect was apprehended a short distance away at a corner store. A taser and items from the break and enter including laptop computers and a cell phone were recovered. Two other suspects are being sought. Both are described as black males. A man is expected to face charges of break and enter, using a disguise in the commission of an offence, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime. |

August 15, 2010 | 10-120444 - Sexual Assault - At 6:15 p.m., police responded to sexual assault complaint. A 37-year-old man stated he was hitchhiking in Dartmouth and was picked up by a man in a red or green Toyota, either a Tercel or Corolla. The suspect pulled a handgun on him and took him to a wooded location in the south end of Halifax where the suspect sexually assaulted him. The suspect was described as an Arabic and Middle Eastern man, late 40's, 6' tall, 180-200 lbs., with black hair, a mustache and scruffy facial hair. The suspect removed a black crew-neck golfing style windbreaker and underneath he wore a long sleeved t-shirt with a grey body and black sleeves. The suspect was also wearing dark pants. August 15, 2010 | 10-120638 - Attempt Murder - At 3:33 p.m., police responded to a report of a man who had been assaulted inside his residence in the 200 block of Willet Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a 37-year-old man who had been severely beaten. The victim is in serious but stable condition in hospital. This incident is not believed to have been random. The matter remains under investigation by the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section. |

August 14, 2010 | 10-120184 - Sexual Assault - At 8:45 p.m., a woman pushing her baby in a stroller in the 2300 block of Robie Street in Halifax was approached by a man. The suspect grabbed the victim by the waist and buttocks and commented on how good she looked. The suspect was described as a white male, mid 30's, with "buzzed" dark hair, scruffy facial hair, long face with a long nose, droopy eyes, and wearing a blue button up shirt with sleeves rolled up, tan shorts and carrying a brown shoulder bag. The male victim alleges he was assaulted by another prisoner while in the back of a sherrif's van. August 5, 2010 | 10-114590 - Aggravated Assault - At 8 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of 25 Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth, involving three males. One male produced a knife and attacked another male in a dispute over money. The 20-year-male victim was stabbed in the chest and arm and was transported to the QE2 Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old Cole Harbour male faces charges of aggravated assault, threats and weapons offenses and a 20-year-old Dartmouth male face charges of theft and accessory. Both were held for court in the morning. |

Police attended the QE2 hospital and located a 19-year-old male victim who had been stabbed with a knife and was being treated for non-life threatening injuries. July 27, 2010 | 10-109190 - Police Officer assaulted- 5816 Cogswell St. (The Pavilion), Halifax At 1:03 p.m. an HRP officer responded to a man causing a disturbance at this location. When he attempted to arrest the man he became combative and attempted to assault the officer with a skateboard. No injuries resulted. The 24 year-old man was released on a Promise to Appear in court at a later date charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, assaulting police, resisting arrest and causing a disturbance. |

July 11, 2010 | 10-100495 - Robbery - At 10:00 p.m., police responded to a robbery which occurred in the 1000 block of Tower Road in Halifax, involving two women who were known to one another and have been involved in an on-going dispute. The 21-year-old woman was walking on Tower Road at 10 p.m. when she was approached by the 18-year-old suspect who subsequently pushed the victim to the ground and assaulted her with a piece of wood. The suspect was apprehended on Tower Road shortly after the incident, and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today charged with one count of robbery with violence, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault. |

July 3, 2010 | 10-94061 - Robbery - At 6 p.m., three youths playing in the area of Alex Street and Central Avenue in Halifax were approached by three teens, one known to them. The familiar teen demanded a piece of property belonging to one of the youths and when he refused, the teen pointed a handgun (possibly a BB gun) at the youth and slashed his wrist with a knife causing a small superficial wound. Responding officers took a male youth into custody a short distance away. The accused will appear in court at a later date to face charges of robbery and assault with a weapon. |

June 6, 2010 | 10-80126 - Break and Enter - Approximately 11:00 p.m., while on routine patrol, police observed a male pushing a snow blower down Portland Street in Dartmouth. When the police vehicle turned around, the suspect fled the area but was located a short distance away. When police began to question the suspect, he assaulted one of the officers and was taken into custody. The shed where the snow blower was stolen had been located, along with a stolen bike from a different location. The accused was charged and held for court, facing two counts of break and enter and assaulting police. The officer was not injured. |

May 26, 2010 | 10-74369 - Motor Vehicle Accident and Shots Fired - At approximately 9 p.m, two vehicles were travelling inbound on Main Street in the area of Forest Hills Parkway. A Nissan Sentra with two occupants, pulled up beside a Cadillac with one occupant. One of the suspects in the Sentra began shooting at the Cadillac. Both vehicles made u-turns, with the Sentra pursuing the Cadillac. An East Quick Response Unit in the area at the time observed the Sentra run a red light and attempted to stop the vehicle. The Nissan turned onto Forest Hills Parkway at a high rate of speed and rear ended a vehicle. Both suspects attempted to flee the vehicle on foot but were quickly apprehended by police. The Cadillac was later located in North Preston and seized by police for further examination. Four bullet holes were found in the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle has not yet been located but it is believed he was not injured in the incident. The 19-year-old male driver of the Sentra faces charges of failing to stop at an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm and breaching a court order. The 17-year-old male passenger of the Sentra faces charges of pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm, and breaching a court order. |

May 14, 2010 | 10-67490 - Robbery - Approximately 9:00 a.m., in the area of Locks Road and Lorway Drive in Dartmouth, two youth walking in the area, were approached by a group of youths unknown to them. Two suspects assaulted one of the youth and took his PSP game. One suspect was described as a white male, 16-17-years-old, wearing a black sweater and sweat pants. The second suspect was a black male, 16-17-years-old, wearing a brown coat. They were last seen walking on Locks Road towards Waverly Road. This matter is being investigated. |

May 8, 2010 | 10-64306 - Assault with a Weapon - At 5:25 p.m., three male youths known to one another became involved in an altercation in the area of 60 Tacoma Drive, Dartmouth. One of the males produced a knife and swung it at one of the other males. A security guard became involved and held the male wielding the knife on the ground until police arrived. No one was injured during the incident. A 14-year-old male was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and uttering threats. |

May 6, 2010 | 10-63883 Assault with a Weapon - At 9:40 p.m., two men unknown to each other were involved in an altercation at the corner of Morris and Queen Streets in Halifax, when an intoxicated man pulled a knife on another man. A struggle ensued and eventually the man wielding the knife was subdued with the help of a bystander. Police arrived and arrested the man with the knife, who was charged with with assault with a weapon. No one was injured during the altercation. |

April 16, 2010 | 10-53300 - Assault and Weapons Just before 9 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at an address on Everette Street in Dartmouth. The 29-year-old male homeowner was assaulted by a suspect who punched him and pulled out a knife when the homeowner prevented him from entering his residence. The suspect then fled the area. This is not believed to be a random act as police believe the parties are associated with one another. The suspect was described as an aboriginal man, 19-20-years-old, short brown crew cut and a mustache, slim build, 5'10' tall, wearing a white shirt and black pants. |

April 15, 2010 | 10-52909/52911/52868 - Assault - At 12:13 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault at the Greek Orthodox Church, 38 Purcell's Cove Road in Halifax. A female security officer working at the dance was assaulted by a male youth who was being escorted from the premises. The 16-year-old male was arrested at the scene. As a result of several physical confrontations, both inside and outside of the church, organizers decided to shut down the dance early. Several hundred young people spilled out onto Purcell's Cove Road and several more fights broke out in the parking lot as well as on the street. Additional police units responded and nine male youths, between the ages of 14 and 17 were arrested for breach of the peace. A 17-year-old male faces charges of assaulting police and resisting arrest after hitting an officer in the face. The remaining eight will not face criminal charges. Update - |

April 10, 2010 | 10-50019 - Assault and Threats - At approximately 7 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Clover Lane in Harrietsfield. A 31-year-old woman reported that her husband had assaulted and threatened her inside the residence. She fled with her two children to a neighbour's house and called police. The subsequent investigation led officers to believe the man was still inside the home and that he had access to firearms. A warrant to enter the residence and arrest the man was obtained. The Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene. At approximately 3:00 p.m., the Emergency Response Team entered the residence to search for the suspect. He was not located inside the home, however a quantity of marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia was located. Officer are currently preparing a search warrant for the drugs. Police are still seeking the 36-year-old male in relation to the assault and threats complaint. The woman was not injured in this incident. |

Upon arrival, the suspect and child had left the scene and could not be located. Police seized a video of the incident and the investigation continues. Update - On April 4th, a 37-year-old Dartmouth man was arrested and released to attend court at a later date. The 3-year-old child, was taken to the IWK Hospital for assessment and released with minor injuries. |

The victim had disclosed he was assaulted by the males and robbed of some personal articles. The males were between 20 and 25-years-old. Both were arrested and held for court to face numerous charges. |

He received serious but non life threatening injuries to his head. He was transported to the QEII hospital for treatment. One male and one female were taken into custody shortly after the incident and searching for a second male. This matter is being investigated by the Integrated General Investigation Section. March 16, 2010 | 10-37236 - Assault and Robbery At 10:43 p.m., a man walking in the 2300 block of Brunswick Street, Halifax, was approached by four males. One punched the victim in the face, resulting in minor injuries. The suspects attempted to steal the victim's guitar but discarded it a short distance away. The suspect were described as being 16-17-years-old and wearing hoodies. Two of the suspects were black, the other two white. One of the white males was wearing a neoprene ski mask. It is not known if this robbery is related to the earlier robbery (GO 10-37229). The matter remains under investigation. |

March 14, 2010 | 10-36671 Robbery - At 8:47 p.m., in the 100 block of Wyse Road, Dartmouth, a 15-year-old male was approached by three men who demanded the victim to empty his pockets. One of the suspects put the victim in a headlock, and took some personal belongings then punched him in the face. The victim received minor injuries. Nearby, patrol officers arrested two suspects without incident. The third suspect was also arrested and received minor injuries as a result of a brief foot pursuit. Three men are being held in custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court later today. Two of the men, A 20-year-old and a 21-year-old face charges of robbery, threats and assault. A third man, 21-years-old, face charges of robbery, resisting arrest, breaching his Recognizance, as well as an outstanding arrest warrant. |

February 7, 2010 | 10-19261 - Assault - At 10:40 p.m., police were called to an address in the 2400 block of Portia White Court, Halifax, in relation to a dispute between a man and woman. When officers arrived, the man was in the driveway area of the residence attempting to leave. The officers approached the man to engage him in conversation. The man punched one of the officers in the face, cutting his lip and breaking his tooth. He grabbed the officer around the waist and was attempting to disarm him of his firearm. Other members arrived to assist. They were also kicked, punched and spat upon by the man who was eventually subdued with the use of a taser. He was taken to the QE11 for treatment and released. The 31-year-old Halifax man will appear in Halifax court tomorrow to face charges of assault police, assault causing bodily harm, attempt to disarm a police officer and domestic assault. |

January 18, 2010 | 10-8890 - Assault and Robbery - Just after midnight, a man was assaulted by two men in the washroom at the Menz Bar on Gottingen Street, Halifax. While still inside, the two suspects then robbed two male customers at knife point before robbing three additional people outside of the restaurant. The suspects fled the area on foot. Police were on scene within seconds and apprehended both suspects on Maitland Street. All stolen property was recovered. One man was taken to the hospital with non life threatening facial injuries. A 32-year-old man from Windsor and a 27-year-old Halifax man will appear in court today charged with 5 counts of robbery as well as assault and weapons related offences. |

December 28, 2009 | 09-190443 - Robbery - At 8:12 p.m., a male and female were walking along Evans Ave when they were approached by a group of 8-10 males and females. The male victim was struck from behind with what he believes was a metal pole or possibly a baseball bat. The group held him down while punching and kicking him. They searched his pockets and removed a quantity of cash and his bank card. The victim was forced to provide his bank card PIN number before the group fled. In addition to the man being assaulted, his female friend was also punched once by one of the females in the group. The male victim is familiar with at least one of the people who committed the robbery against him, and police are following up on this and all possible leads as the investigation continues. |

December 28, 2009 | 09-190432 - Robbery - At 7:51 p.m., two females were approached by a group of teenage females outside of the McDonalds restaurant on Mumford Road in Halifax. A confrontation ensued and subsequently moved inside of the restaurant, at which time staff called police to report a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discoverd that one female victim had been assaulted and relieved of personal effects by five females. This was not a random incident as two of the suspects are known to the victim. Two female young offenders were taken into custody and held for court the next morning to face robbery charges. |

Upon arrival, officers knocked on the door, announced that they were police and requested that the tenant open the door. A male suspect opened the door carrying a loaded firearm. Officers were able to disarm him. December 20, 2009 | 186844-- At 0201 hours, police were called to the McDonald's , 144 Main St in relation to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers learned that a group of white males, 18-21 entered the restaurant and started to cause problems. The 24 year old security guard asked them to leave at which time, at least one member of this group punched and kicked the security guard, eventually taking his baton and assaulting him with it. He sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. Two windows were damaged as a result of the altercation after which the suspects fled in a white Nissan 240 with a temporary permit. The main suspect is described as a white male, 18-21, 5' 9", 175 lbs, dirty blond hair, wearing a orange and brown coat. |

December 20, 2009 | 187466 --A 19 year old female pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck in the intersection of Upper Water and Barrington Street at 1:05pm. She was taken to the QE11 with non life threatening injuries. The 35 year old male driver of the truck was not injured. The accident remains under investigation. Robbery 09-187618 -- At about 5:45 pm the victim was walking on Dublin Street in Halifax when he was approached by two suspects. The suspects demand his Ipod and cash and threatened to harm him if he called anyone. The victim was not injured and the suspects left the area. The suspects were described as a black male 16-20 years old, approx. height 5'11, thin build, black puffy winter jacket(parka style), black toque and clean shaven. Second suspect was a black male , 18-25 years old, approx. height 6'0, medium to heavy build, had a large black winter jacket on as well with a black toque. File is under investigation. Robbery 09-187697>/b>--At about 10:15 pm the victim was working in the parking booth 1278 South Park Street. A lone male knocked on the door and forced his way inside. He threatened that he had a knife, and demanded the victim open the till. The suspect took all the bills and left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspect was described as a white male,6 feet tall, 190-200 lbs, wearing all dark Clothing except white sneakers. |

Upon opening the driver's door, the suspect placed the vehicle in reverse and struck one of the officers causing an abrasion to his leg. The male suspect was arrested after he struck a dumpster. December 14, 2009 | 09-184766 - Assault Police Officer - At approximately 6:15 p.m., police arrested a 31- year-old man for shoplifting, possession of illegal drugs and outstanding warrants. En-route to the police station, the man appeared to have swallowed an unknown substance. The officer pulled the police car to a vacant lot to check the status of the man. The man forced his way out of the police car by striking the officer in the head with a blunt object. The officer attempted to gain control of the man who was attempting to escape. In the struggle both the officer and suspect ended up on the Bedford Highway facing oncoming traffic. The suspect was controlled and handcuffed by the officer. Both the suspect and the police officer suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The Integrated General Investigation Section are investigating the incident at this time. |

One male received lacerations on his forearm and his head, both which required stitches. The suspect male will face assault charges. |

December 6, 2009 | 09-179409 - Assault Causing Bodily Harm - At 1:43 a.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at the intersection of Argyle and Sackville Streets in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers found a 21-year-old man suffering from a broken ankle. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male with short hair, 5'8" tall, 160 lbs, slim build. The matter remains under investigation. |

November 25, 2009 | 09-174415 - Assault - At 8:30 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Tower Road, Halifax in relation to a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, police located an 18-year-old male who was bleeding from the head. The male was transported to the hospital by EHS with serious but non life threatening injuries. The male stated that he had been involved in a consensual fight with a person know to him. He remains in the hospital. |
